Mrs. Williams also wore plain black clothing in the opening to portray darkness and a lack of identity, as colorful clothes would suggest normality and draw too much attention. As the roadmap to your site and one of your users’ primary tools for getting around, its importance cannot be overstated. However, balancing web strategy, usability and information architecture best practices, and the perpetual influx of requests and demands from your various campus partners can be challenging, if not harrowing, for a well-intentioned web manager or administrator. What links should you include? What should they be called? Which should you omit? How do you get started? This poster presentation will explore the navigation development process, including the incorporation of goals and analytics in your decision-making process and the most common headings and links your users will encounter as they explore other higher education websites. The goal: to stop taking orders and solidify a main menu that works for your site.

The next generation internet provides resilient wide area networking. Resilience is the ability to resist outer influences such as link failures. During routing protocols reorganize the communication paths after a topology change, data loss can occur. Using multiple paths, network operation can continue after failure detection.
This work examines Multi-Path Hop-by-Hop routing where any single link failure can be locally recovered. We produce acyclic routing graphs for destination-based routing. Our approach results in two edge sets: active and reserve links. Active edges provide an acyclic graph embedding a spanning tree. Any failure that is not covered by redundant active edges is recovered by inserting a reserve edge. We guarantee recovery of the first link failure event and then seamlessly restore a HammockSet for the new topology.
Two similar approaches have been published. The O2-algorithm derived out of the project ”Key Components for the Mobile Internet of Next Generation” [Sch01] and constructs thin Hammock-Sets but is restricted to certain topologies. The MPA-algorithm [Nar00] succeeds on any topology, yet it cannot provide redundancy to all nodes. We specify topologies that allow stand-by recovery to all nodes and destinations, while we construct edge-maximized HammockSets.
For evaluation we introduce link significance, a measure for the forwarding function of inner HammockSet nodes. A heuristic algorithm optimizes the HammockSet layout for traffic distribution. It restricts the number of HammockSets on one network edge, increasing the bandwidth fraction available to the participating HammockSets.
A prototype implementation has been part of this work. It constructs HammockSets for any
destination node of a topology. The final chapter discusses the feasibility of implementing our approach in real-world systems. Further, we point out possibilities for future work.

The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The cape doesn’t present a meaning
during the opening as she just places the
cape on. This makes the audience want to
carry on watching the film as it could have
a meaning throughout the film. For
example; why the husband is discovered
dead at the end of the garden whilst the
cape is on Mrs Williams.
3. Using all black
The character Mrs Williams wore black clothing
during the opening this shows darkness and being
plain as Mrs Williams doesn’t have an identity. Using
normal colourful clothes would create the image of
normality and also attract too much attention.
Using casual clothing
also indicates that she
is relaxed and
comfortable in her
own home, but also
about the mysterious
incident which has
happened during the
opening.
