Marilyn Monroe
Monroe wig
White dress and white heels
Signature red
lipstick
Silver diamond earrings Silver diamond necklace
One of the looks I will be featuring in my music videos is
inspired by Marilyn Monroe. I have decided to go for Marilyn’s
signature look: her blonde bombshell hair, white, flowing
dress with matching white heels, paired with a seductive red
lipstick and diamond earrings and necklace. The protagonist
will be exploring this look before choosing against it. The
reason that I have chosen Marilyn’s signature look is so that
the audience will immediately be able to identify the
protagonist as imitating Marilyn as she is one of the main
‘primadonnas’ therefore it links to the song and they will be
able to understand the story a lot better.
Audrey Hepburn
Long black gloves
Black shift
dress
Beehive
hairdo
Tiara
Silver diamond necklace and
matching earrings
Classic
black heels
Another look that the protagonist will be exploring is the
signature outfit worn by Audrey Hepburn, featured in the
classic film ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’. This outfit completely
juxtaposes with Marilyn’s, which is all white, whereas this
outfit is completely black: a shift dress worn with classic black
heels, long black gloves, and quite heavy jewellery (a tiara,
necklace and matching earrings). Again, this look will be
dismissed so that the protagonist can find her own, individual
look which is inspired by both Marilyn and Audrey.
The ‘perfect’ outfit
Black chunky
heels
Gold hoops
Purple
lipstick
Gold and black sequined dress
This is the look that the protagonist
chooses. A pretty, eccentric
sequined dress paired with black
chunky heels and purple lipstick as
it fits within the personality of the
actress well. The message sent
across for the video to the audience
is that you should be yourself and
not try to be like other people (the
celebrities).
James Dean
Red bomber jacket
Straight legged jeans
Simple white
t-shirt
Black Chelsea boots
Here I have recreated James Dean’s
look from film Rebel Without A
Cause. This look features a
statement red bomber jacket
paired with a pair of classic, navy,
straight legged jeans and a simple
white t-shirt. For shoes, I felt a
black pair of Chelsea boots would
finish the look off nicely. This look
will be worn by one of the males in
the music video, of whom the
protagonist has to choose which
male is best. The name of this look
is the ‘cool guy’, which James Dean
seems to create effortlessly.
James Bond
Black satin blazer with
white blouse and black tie.
Black fitted
trousers
Black leather brogues
Umarex Walther
PPK/S pistol gun
Another look featured for the male
role is the look of James Bond. I
created this simply by pairing together
a black satin suit, black leather
brogues and a gun (which obviously
will not be real!) in order to make it
clear who the look is inspired by. This
look is very simple but effective as the
audience will immediately be able to
identify who it is. This is the ‘smart
guy’ look.
The modern
Blue skinny jeans
Burgundy shirt
White
vans
The last look for the males featured
in the music video is inspired by the
modern man, as the other male
looks are based upon old looks
which are worn by idols. I have
paired burgundy shirt with blue
skinny jeans and white vans, as this
is a very popular look within male
adolescents in this day and age.
This is the look that the protagonist
chooses as the message sent across
for the video to the audience is that
you should be yourself and not try
to be like other people (the
celebrities).
