2. CAST
Within any production costume is very important it not only needs to be visually
and astatically pleasing but must also meet key conventions of the specific genre.
The costume allows the audience to easily identify with each character and to
establish under which form each meet.
Within our production there are three characters these are:
• Girl one – Played by Hannah Molloy-Herat
• Girl two – Played by Natalya Martin
• Demon – Played by Helena Morais
3. GIRL ONE – HANNAH MOLLOY-HERAT
We have decided to dress Hannah in a
pair of grey jogger bottoms and a plain
black vest top. Within the story the girls
have been awoken by a noise coming
from downstairs. We therefor wanted
Hannah to be wearing bed
clothes, however we challenge the
conventions of most films as she is not
wearing pyjamas but a more casual
combination which we felt would be
more realistic of the average teenager.
By doing this we feel that our audience
will be able to relate to the characters
better. Again as Hannah has been
sleeping her hair is tussled and not been
done this is to create the ‘bed head’
look.
4. GIRL TWO – NATALYA MARTIN
We have decided to dress Natalya in a
pair of baby blue spotted cotton trousers
along with a white vest top. Again within
the story the girls have been awoken by
a noise coming from downstairs. We
therefor wanted Natalya to be wearing
bed clothes, however we challenge the
conventions of most films as she is not
wearing pyjamas but a more casual
combination which we felt would be
more realistic of the average teenager.
Unlike Hannah, Natalya is seen to be
wearing worn off make up which meets
our background story that the girls had
been to a party the night before. Again
her hair has been tussled to look scruffy.
5. DEMON – HELENA MORAIS
We have decided that for the demon
within our film we did not want to used a
cloak or mysterious mask but create a
character that looked more like a ghost.
For costume we decided that a old night
dress would be suitable as the narrative
portrays the young girl at the beginning of
our film to be the demon that died many
years ago. We modified the night dress
my tearing parts and using red food
colouring to stain the garment. We also
used white body paint to cover Helena to
make her look more mysterious finally
using a range of paint and make up we
added scars and tussled the hair to give
an affect of distress.
