Location notes

  1. 1. ByKaty Kennedy
  2. 2.  To ensure that each member of the group was able to have an input in the location decision we decided the best form of gathering ideas would be to create a brainstorm with ideas given from each member of the group.
  3. 3. Abandoned schoolWharehouse House Location IndustrialOn the street site Park
  4. 4.  After producing the brainstorm we were able to select the top three from the list, these were: An Abandoned School A House The Park After discussion between the group and consultation with our teacher the location we decided on was an old house. We felt that this would best suit our genre and would be easily accessible for us as a group.
  5. 5.  As we have now made our decision to shoot in a house the question was where. As our genre was a horror/thriller we knew that we wanted the house to have a sense of mystery behind it. The decision was then made that we would use my nans house as all members of the group had been there before and agreed that it would be appropriate for our genre. This Victorian styled house is made up of thirteen rooms in total. It is located on a main road which allowed us to gain easy access for filming.
  6. 6.  The next stage was to go to our chosen location and capture some location shots as part of our planning and research. We also had the task of deciding which rooms we would be using within the house, to shoot.
  7. 7.  We have decided to film in three rooms of the house these are the following: the cellar, a bedroom (upstairs) and the lounge. We will also be filming in both the upstairs and downstairs corridors.
