A study by Towers Watson revealed differences between what attracts employees to jobs and what makes them stay versus what employers think. While employee priorities can change quickly with economic conditions, employers are slow to change policies. The survey found that half of companies do not inform top talent and high-potential employees of their status, which may indicate such differentiation is not reflected in reward and development programs. The study involved responses from 96 companies in India and over 1,000 employees.
