The term “Environment” refers to the Totality of MAN’S SURROUNDINGS, both Natural
and MAN-MADE.
Natural Resources include Land, Water, Air, Fauna, Flora and Raw Materials.
Man-Made Resources include Cultural Heritage, Socio- Economic Institutions and People.
These Surroundings are also Made up of Resources that are Beneficial to Human Life.
There are Major Cities such as Kanpur, Jaipur, Delhi, Panipat, Kolkata, and others across our
country. Their Emissions have a Negative Impact On People’s Health & Environment.
Pollution alters the Physical, Chemical, and Biological Properties of the Air, Land, and Water.
Pollution Endangers both Human and Non-Human Life. It also Degrades Living Conditions
by Wasting or Depleting Raw Materials.
4. Environmental Protection:
A Business is not an ISOLATED ENTITY like an
Island, a Business is a PART OF THE SOCIETY and
INFLUENCED BY SOCIETY and should adjust to
the preferences and values of society. So the main
purpose of Business Ethics is to draw a line between
Individual Betterment and Social Betterment.
The ENVIRONMENT is Crucial for the Society
and Businesses together. We all have a Responsibility to
Conserve and Protect the Environment. And whether
it be Governments, Businesses, Consumers, Workers or
Other Members of Society, each much contribute to
stop the environment from polluting further.
The ENVIRONMENT is everything we depend on.
The Trees that give us Oxygen,
The Land we Live upon and
The Rivers that provide us with Water.
Health is Wealth
The BUSINESS is everything we depend on.
The Products and Services
The Profit and Income
Wealth is Health.
5. TYPES OF POLLUTION
1. Air Pollution:
Air Pollution is mostly caused by the Manufacturing Industry, which Emits
Smoke, other Pollutants, and Carbon Monoxide.
2. Water Pollution:
Water Pollution has Killed Numerous Creatures and Poses a Severe Threat to
Human Existence. This has been caused by Sewage Problems as well as
Industrial Waste released into Rivers, Lakes, Bays, and even the Ocean after
Heavy Rain Events.
3. Noise Pollution:
Noise Pollution from Factories and Automobiles is not only annoying but it also
a Substantial Health Hazard. Noise Pollution may cause a Variety of Ailments,
including Hearing Loss, Heart Problems, and Mental Illness. Machines and
Transportation.
6. Role of Business in Environment Protection
1. A Strong Commitment by the Enterprise’s Top Management to Develop,
Maintain, and Create a Work Culture based on Environmental Protection and
Pollution Prevention.
2. Companies involved in the Production of Various Utilities or Products can go
for Eco-Friendly, Low Waste and Clean Technology for equipment used in such
Industries.
3. Industrial Wastes Should be Recycled Every Time so that it Minimizes the
Chances of Pollution.
4. The Machinery Should be Upgraded so that it complies with the Pollution Norms,
which will be beneficial in reducing the levels of pollution.
7. Our Contribution:
The Environment should be protected in the Name of Serving Human Welfare.
Name of Serving Future Generations’Welfare.
Name of Serving Animal Welfare.
Own Sake and Ourself.
Adherence to the Rules and Regulations set by the Government for Pollution Control.
Participation in Government Programs, including Hazardous Material Management, River Cleanup, Tree
Planting, and Deforestation Control.
Organizing Educational Seminars and Training Materials to Share Technical Knowledge and Expertise with
Suppliers, Dealers, and Customers in order to get them to participate in Pollution Control Programs.
Conduct Quarterly/Yearly Audits for Checking the Effectiveness of the Pollution Control Program.
The Businesses Should Take Steps to Save the Environment by Setting up Campaigns of Planting Trees,
Cleaning of Rivers.
8. Getting Product and Services in a Comfortable,
Caring and Safe Environment, delivered in a calm and Reassuring way;
Having Information to Make Choices;
Feeling Confident and in Control;
Being Talked to and Listened to as an equal;
Being treated with Honesty, Respect and Dignity.
9. SAFEGUARDING means Protecting People’s Health, Wellbeing and Human Rights, and
enabling them to Live Free from Harm, Abuse and Neglect.
It's fundamental to high-quality health and social care.
WELL-BEING - can encompass looking out for someone's Personal Dignity, Physical Health,
Mental Health and Emotional Well-being, Amongst Other Things.
More Consumers Care about WELNESS than ever before—but it encompasses : Fitness and
Nutrition.
Today's wellness consumers actively engage with brands offering holistic products and services
that promise to Improve their Physical, Mental and Health Appearance.
As consumer Interest Grows, Health and Wellness Brands have Ample Opportunity to attract a
Larger Audience and Increase their Revenue.
