This document provides a survey to screen for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It begins by defining COPD as a life-threatening lung disease commonly caused by smoking that tends to get progressively worse. It then describes the two main conditions that make up COPD: chronic bronchitis, which involves inflammation of the airways, and emphysema, which damages the tiny air sacs of the lungs. The survey lists symptoms and risk factors to check if present. It collects smoking history and information about exacerbations and other respiratory illnesses. The goal is to provide information to screen for COPD and collect patient data to send to a clinic for evaluation.

Proposal of Fiberglass wagon movable roofsFarhan Ali
This document proposes replacing the tarpaal and parachute roofing system on cement wagon with a fiberglass material to reduce costs and improve quality, efficiency, and protection. The existing tarpaal system requires replacement every 20 days and has several disadvantages including a short lifespan, odor and fading issues, increased weight when wet, and fire hazards. In contrast, a fiberglass roof would last over 6 years with proper care, be more cost effective in the long run than other materials, and provide benefits like water resistance, easy installation and removal, and fire resistance. Replacing the roofs with fiberglass is estimated to save the factory approximately Rs. 630000 per year in costs compared to continuing with the tarpaal system.
The document summarizes Miessence, a skin care brand that uses only natural and organic ingredients. It discusses their philosophy of using ingredients that are beneficial to the body and in harmony with nature. The document also provides details on their certifications and challenges other brands' claims of being natural and organic.

The document summarizes key information about influenza virus. It belongs to the Orthomyxoviridae family and is a segmented, single-stranded RNA virus. It causes the highly contagious disease influenza, or flu. There are three main types - A, B, and C - with Type A being the most virulent and causing pandemics through antigenic drift and shift. Symptoms include fever, cough, and fatigue. Treatment involves antiviral drugs and vaccination, while prevention focuses on hand washing and avoiding contact with infected individuals.

This document provides information for parents about childhood asthma. It explains that asthma is a chronic lung condition characterized by airway inflammation and constriction in response to triggers. Common triggers include allergens like dust, pollen, pets and smoke. It advises parents on ways to identify asthma symptoms, manage triggers through cleaning and avoiding allergens, and treat asthma attacks. Parents are encouraged to work closely with their child's doctor to properly diagnose and manage their child's asthma.
Bronchial asthma with homeopathic managementSohail Ahmed
This document presents a case study of an 18-year-old female student named Mariya D'Souza suffering from severe asthma. Her symptoms include breathlessness that is worsened by cold drinks, cold water, drafts of air, monsoon weather, and getting wet. She has a history of anxiety, fear of death, restlessness, and anger issues. The case analysis identifies constitutional traits like a heavy birth weight, intolerance of contradictions, premarital sexual activity, and attraction to others. She was initially prescribed arsenic album 200 based on her acute totality, and later calcarea flour 200 based on her constitutional totality. Follow ups showed improvement in her symptoms with no new complaints.
This document provides guidance on taking a thorough history from parents of coughing children to determine the underlying cause. Key aspects to ask about include age of child, age of cough onset, acute vs chronic duration, episodic vs continuous pattern, dry vs wet cough, associated symptoms like wheezing, time of day occurrences, and potential aggravating/relieving factors. Common diagnoses can include aspiration, reflux, foreign bodies, or infections like pertussis depending on history details. Examining for wheezing vs stridor noises is also important, as many parents mislabel noises. Thorough history taking is emphasized over quick assumptions and treatment trials can help narrow diagnoses.
1. The document outlines a lesson plan about common ailments affecting the respiratory system. It lists the objectives, subject matter, materials, and procedures for the lesson.

- Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways characterized by airway hyperresponsiveness and reversible bronchospasm.
- It most commonly begins in childhood, with over 77% of cases presenting before 5 years of age. Diagnosis can be challenging in young children due to their inability to perform pulmonary function tests.
- Treatment involves inhalation of corticosteroids and bronchodilators. Short courses of oral corticosteroids are used for acute exacerbations. Patient education is important for proper inhaler technique and trigger avoidance.
This document outlines a home care chronic disease prevention program focusing on COPD. It includes 9 modules covering various chronic diseases. The COPD module defines COPD, describes how it impacts lung function, and discusses causes, symptoms, diagnosis, classification, treatment including medications and lifestyle changes, and warning signs. The goal is to educate patients on COPD management and promote healthy behaviors.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has a variable natural history. It is generally a progressive disease if exposure to noxious agents like cigarette smoke continues. While not all smokers develop clinically significant COPD, those who do experience an accelerated decline in lung function of about 60 mL/yr compared to 30 mL/yr in normal aging. Stopping smoking can slow this progression. The cardinal symptoms of COPD are dyspnea, chronic cough, and sputum production. Dyspnea is usually progressive and becomes persistent with minimal exertion as the disease worsens.
This document provides tips for studying and answering multiple choice questions (MCQs) to improve exam outcomes. It outlines 10 tips for studying MCQs, such as writing a study plan, studying in groups, and focusing on important topics. It also gives 10 tips for answering MCQs, like paying attention to key words, using logical thinking, and not changing answers unless certain. Examples are provided of MCQ questions on common pediatric respiratory conditions like bronchiolitis, epiglottitis, and croup. Strategies are suggested for quick revision summaries, updates with evidence-based medicine, and writing abstracts. The overall aim is to help maximize learning from each MCQ encountered.

COPD : Chronic Obstructive
Pulmonary Disease
COPD is a life-threatening lung disease that tends to get progressively worse and is most commonly
caused by smoking. A chronic illness is one that lasts a long time, sometimes for the rest of the
affected person’s life.
Chronic bronchitis:
Chronic bronchitis is inflammation of your bronchi – the main airways that lead from your windpipe
(trachea) to your lungs. This inflammation can produce excess mucus that may block your airways
and make you cough.
Emphysema:
Emphysema damages the structure of your alveoli – these are tiny air sacs where oxygen passes
You’re also more likely to get COPD:
• if your body exposes you to certain dusts or fumes and air pollution
• from environmental factors, such as from inherited problems – an inherited shortage of a
protein called alpha antitrypsin that helps protect your body
COPD is not curable but treatment can slow the progress of the disease. Nearly 66 million Indians
suffer from COPD. But COPD has not received due attention by both patients and doctors making it a
leading cause for morbidity and mortality.
This fact sheet is to provide the user friendly scientific information about COPD and to take survey
whether people affected with this COPD.
