This document outlines the units of study for a control engineering course. The five units cover: 1) introductions to simple control systems and analogies; 2) open and closed loop systems using block diagrams and signal flow graphs; 3) characteristic equations, functions and system responses; 4) concepts of stability using Routh-Hurwitz criteria and root locus/Bode techniques; 5) introduction to digital and sampled data systems including digital controllers. Textbooks and references are also provided.
