The document outlines the guidelines for the Luzon Science Consortium's (LSC) 2007 quiz and chairmanship turnover ceremony, which will include a math-science quiz, research poster presentation, on-the-spot poster-making contest, and jingle contest. For the quiz, teams of two students from each member institution will participate in biology, chemistry, mathematics, or physics. Questions will be prepared by outside consultants. Posters must highlight alternative energy research from 2003 onward. The on-the-spot contest will have participants make posters related to the theme in 2 hours using supplied materials. The jingle contest requires an original song within 3-4 minutes related to the theme and accompanied by instrumentation.

A DSCPC file, also known as a DiskCatalogMaker catalog file, is a type of data file created by DiskCatalogMaker, a disk management and cataloging application. This file contains a catalog of files and folders from a hard drive or optical disc, which includes file metadata like file names, locations, sizes, and modification dates. The DSCPC file is used to keep track of large collections of files, allowing users to search and manage them without having the original disks inserted. It's particularly useful for those who need to manage large amounts of data across multiple storage devices.

A. LSC QUIZ
Contestant must:
a. be a bonafide tertiary student of a member institution who have not earned any
bachelor’s degree;

c. be non-champion in the field to be participated.
• Official list of delegation, signed by the College/University Head, and certification
from the Registrar’s Office that contestants are officially enrolled, should be
submitted to the host institution three weeks before the contest date.
Mechanics
1. Each school will be presented by a total of eight students, two per subject area.
2. One coach will be assigned per subject area.
3. Questions/subject matters to be taken will deal the following:
a. Biology - General Biology (100% concepts, theories, and principles)
b. Chemistry - General Chemistry ( 50% theories and concepts; 50%
problem solving)
c. Mathematics - Algebra, Plane, Trigonometry, and Analytic Geometry
(100% problem solving)
d. Physics - Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, Modern
Physics (50% theories and concepts; 50% problem solving)
4. Questions/problems will be prepared by the consultants from non-member institutions
who are considered authorities in the four subject areas. They shall prepare ten (10)
easy questions, ten (10) average, and five (5) difficult questions plus additional tie-
breaking questions. Easy questions shall be given 1 pt., 3 pts. for average, and 5 pts.
for difficult questions.
5. Said consultants will serve as the quiz masters in their specific field.
6. Uniform size of paper will be used for the questionnaires (half of a short bond paper).
A copy of each question will be distributed (facedown) to each team one at a time, to
be answered within a given time frame as determined by the consultant. Reading and
answering of the questions will be done as soon as the signal is given by the
consultant. The expected number of participating institutions is 27.
7. After the participants have given their answer, the questions will be read and the
corresponding correct answer will given by the consultant.
8. Complaints/clarifications may be directed by the participant (not by a coach) to the
consultant, right after the correct answer is given. The decision of the consultant is
final.
9. No negative point will be appropriated to any incorrect answer.

11. Only white board and marker should be used during the quiz.
12. There will be assigned numbers to each participating institution for identification,
especially during announcement of scores.
2. 13. Official scorer will be on stage. Additional tally boards for each area (Biology,
Chemistry, Mathematics, & Physics) and another tally board for the over-all tabulation
of scores will be provided).
14. A distance of one meter must be provided on all sides, in between the contestants and
the audience, during the quiz.
