Presentation given by Liz Gibson (Creditcall Head of Payment Services) and David Michael (Streeva CEO) at the Vendorcom Embrace Payments Event held in London on 28th February 2018.
2. World Cancer Day
● In 2015 Creditcall was a proud partner in a new project
alongside:
• Visa Europe Collab
• Elavon, Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)
• Payter
• The Royal College of Art
• Sprout
• Tata Consultancy Services
● Charities Pilot Waiver for Contactless only... others were
building C&P/mPOS based similar ideas.
● Lots learned...unattended and attended both successful to
various degrees.
3. Benefits of Contactless Donations
● Greater insight into donation data via online reporting.
● Charities get fast settlement directly to their bank.
● Charity workers do not need to deposit cash at the bank.
● Reduced risks to volunteers as no need to handle or store
cash.
● Highly convenient for donors – no need to rummage for
coins.
4. The Development of Contactless Solutions
● In November 2016 Visa approved Contactless ONLY transactions
for face to face transactions and this has greatly accelerated take
up of the ‘Charity Tin’ in the UK.
● In 2017 Creditcall and Elavon put together a proposition for the
wider market which is now used by numerous different merchants
in different verticals – e.g. museums.
● More recently some specific opportunities have arisen with other
charities, organisations and acquirers e.g. RBL & Lloyds Cardnet -
some for potentially huge numbers.
6. The Grand Appeal
● Features giant sculptures of Aardman's popular
characters around the city of Bristol to help raise
money for Bristol Children’s Hospital and the Special
Care Baby Unit at St Michael’s Hospital.
● Creditcall, Renishaw, Rolls-Royce and the University
of Bristol will provide their know-how to create a
truly unique, unprecedented and trailblazing fund-
raising event.
● The award-winning charity has raised over £50
million to save lives and support sick children and
their families at Bristol Children’s Hospital since
1995.
7. The Royal British Legion
● Creditcall enabled 200+ contactless terminals, provided
by Payter, during the 2017 Poppy Appeal, the Legion’s
annual appeal which raises money to support Armed
Forces personnel, veterans and their families.
● The RBL and Lloyds Bank Cardnet piloted the scheme
across the UK during last year’s Poppy Appeal enabling
the public to donate using contactless.
● The contactless terminals had 3 pre-set donation levels
of £2, £3, and £5 enabling donors to conveniently,
quickly and securely donate.
8. St Mungo’s
● New approach to supporting homeless people in Bristol.
● Members of the public can donate £2 to help fund night
shelters for homeless people in Bristol via contactless
donation points dotted around the city.
9. Technology for Contactless Deployment
● The Payter unit was particularly suitable for these projects but there are a variety of other contactless
readers available, so other solutions could be similarly developed.
