A Constructed Landscape I am photographing industrial structures in the landscape and digitally construct my final images to communicate relationships between industry and its environment. As first-world countries move from an industrial capitalist complex to largely a benefactor of foreign industry. These environments include natural and societal landscapes suggesting the necessity of sustaining our industries and the consequential hazards to industrial neglect. I intend to bring my audience to the industrial landscape with the hope that the dialog about industry’s obligation goes beyond profit and towards an awareness of a fragile global ecosystem. Industry should aspire to assume a sustainable role in local environments; symbiotic with consumer demands and the growing popularity for “green” technology infrastructures. Identifying this shared point of interest allows our communities to work together toward satisfying the needs of a western-based industry, the consumer market, and the necessary steps to heal the damage of neglecting industrial responsibilities. This project ultimately adds a voice to current social and cultural trends concerning the inter-relatedness of all contemporary life via the world’s shared industrial complex.
