Rita Dove about her hard working grandfather named Thomas during this period in history. The
major themes portrayed throughout this poem are the hardships faced by her grandfather during
these difficult times and struggling to cope with death. These themes are portrayed through Dove
s application of poetic form and structure, diction, and figurative language. The poetic form and
structure of Dove s poem is important in portraying Dove s theme of coping with death. The
poem is made up of three octets, a couplet, and a quatrain. Having the couplet right after three
octets abruptly disrupts the flow of the poem, similarly to how an individual s life can feel as

concentrations, and substrate concentration will have a very small color change or no color change
at all. The alternate hypothesis is that the test tubes containing an increase in temperature, pH

The use of multiple test tubes and Parafilm was used for each experiment. Catechol, potato juice,
pH 7 phosphate buffer, and stock potato extract 1:1 will be used to conduct the following
experiments: temperature effect on enzyme activity, the effect of pH on enzyme action, the effect
of enzyme concentration, and the effect of substrate concentration on enzyme activity. For the
temperature effect on enzyme activity, three test tube were filled with three ml of pH 7

Escapism In The Great Gatsby
Firstly books are in fact great. They contain whole worlds bound within the pages that are
unleashed when the cover is flipped open and the words start to be read. Books do far more than
entertain. They educate and practice the process of escapism with the reader. Encyclopedias and
self help guides share information, and novels take you away to Narnia and Hogwarts and the
Shire again and again. Greatness leads to the next virtue of books: compassion. How great can a
book be if it is not compassionate? Books are good at understanding the readers because they are
written by people themselves that experience human emotions and unravel them to be less complex
