Sue Williams is a prominent Welsh artist who is currently a professor at Swansea College of Art. She was born in Cornwall in 1956 and works across multiple mediums including drawing, painting, fabric, photography and text. Her art explores complex human relationships and themes of sexuality, lust, jealousy and feminism. She aims to provoke emotional and political discussions with her work. The document then describes a project where children learned about Williams' style and biography and were inspired to create their own artworks combining different media to express their inner thoughts and desires. They aimed to show that womanhood represents both beauty and powerful creativity within society.
Barbara Hepworth was an influential English sculptor in the 20th century known for her abstract works. She pioneered sculpting the inside of materials rather than just modeling the outside. Many of her sculptures were made of materials like wood, stone, and bronze. Her piece "Two Forms" represented the concept of maternity with two related forms. Students created non-figurative sculptures in pairs exploring the concept of friendship, attempting to represent the relationship between two pieces through their design, inspired by Hepworth's emphasis on the relationship between forms.
This document summarizes an art lesson where students learned about artist Sue Williams. They studied her abstract, colorful paintings that challenge gender, sexuality, and violence. The students were then inspired to create their own artworks using various media like collage and acrylic paints. They created pieces representing their inner selves and how they want to be seen by others. The goal was to show that womanhood represents a powerful mind, determination, creativity, and a rightful position of equality in society from the beginning.
Sophie Taeuber-Arp was a Swiss painter, sculptor, and dancer born in 1889. She studied fabric design and the experimental studios of Munich and Hamburg. In 1916, she began studying expressionist dance in Zurich. In 1915, she met Jean Arp at an exhibition and they married in 1922, collaborating on projects until her death in 1943. Sophie was a leading figure of geometric abstract art in the 20th century and her works showcase her fascination with painting, architecture, math, physics, philosophy, dance, and fashion, though her contributions were overlooked for many years.

Ho
avuto la opportunità di conoscere le
abitudini scolastiche di un’altra Nazione,
che devo dire mi hanno davvero affascinato.
L’accoglienza a scuola è stata calorosa,
italiane.
Donato Fiore
3. All’inizio del viaggio in Germania ero
un po’ansioso perché non sapevo a
cosa stessi andando incontro. Ma poi
mi sono trovato molto bene nella
famiglia e mi sono anche divertito. Mi
ha fatto piacere anche conoscere le
abitudini di persone di altre nazioni.
Per me è stato un viaggio molto
istruttivo, infatti ho scoperto che le
risorse di energia sono diminuite
molto e se non facciamo qualcosa
potrebbero finire per sempre. Ma
nello stesso tempo queste risorse non
devono essere nocive all’ambiente.
Questa discussione mi ha fatto
pensare molto a cosa dovremmo fare.
Comunque mi sono preso anche una
pausa dalle abitudini quotidiane e
dalla vita frenetica di tutti i giorni.
Luigi Marucchelli
5. Questo viaggio secondo
me è stato bellissimo
non solo per le
escursioni ma anche
per aver fatto nuove
conoscenze con ragazzi
di altri paesi. Della
Germania mi ha colpito
l’ordine e soprattutto la
cura dell’ambiente
nonostante le numerose
industrie e fabbriche
presenti.
Ambrogio Biancofiore
6. La settimana trascorsa in Germania
non la dimenticherò mai. Ho
conosciuto alunni e prof di molti
paesi europei , sono stati tutti molto
gentili e sono riusciti ad aiutarci
per qualunque problema. Il viaggio,
il primo per me è stato molto

mio agio, era tutto così diverso rispetto all’Italia, alla
mia scuola.
nazioni Francia, Spagna, Germania, Polonia,
sentire a casa.
Abbiamo visitato Orlèans, una città bellissima e
grande e abbiamo fatto shopping.
all'infinito.
Paola Pizza
17. Da questo viaggio in Spagna mi
porto nel cuore l’affetto del mio
corrispondente Pablo, della sua
mamma Joly e di tutti i suoi amici. Il
giorno dell’arrivo in Spagna avevo il
cuore che mi batteva forte per la
paura, mi spaventava il fatto di dover
andare in un Paese estero, di
conoscere una famiglia con
tradizioni e culture diverse dalle mie.
Invece come un incantesimo questo
incontro è stato favoloso sembrava
di conoscerli già da sempre.
L’accoglienza tra professori e
corrispondenti è stata
eccezionale, all’ inizio ho avuto un po’
FRANCESCO
18. Questo viaggio in Spagna ha rappresentato
per me un’occasione davvero interessante,
istruttiva e divertente.
sapone. Sono stata accolta davvero bene e la
settimana, come accade per tutte le cose
belle, è volata senza che me ne ccorgessi.
credo). Il momento più brutto è
stato quello dell’addio. Spero di
tornare presto in Spagna.
Piervito
20. L’esperienza da poco conclusa è
stata davvero positiva. Un
viaggio che non dimenticherò
mai! La settimana più bella della
mia vita! È un’emozione
fortissima quella che si prova
nell’essere ospite di una famiglia
sconosciuta cercando di capirne
le tradizioni e i modi di vivere. Ho
avuto la fortuna di aver trovato in
Spagna una famiglia formidabile
e, dopo pochi minuti di
convivenza con Laura, già mi
sembrava di conoscerla da
tempo. Tutti sono stati magnifici,
ragazzi e professori. Insomma,
un’esperienza che rifarei un
milione di volte e che soprattutto
consiglio a chiunque sia pronto a
mettersi in gioco.
Lidia
21. GIORGIALe valigie erano pronte e la gioia
di partire era immensa ma non
nascondo che un po’ di paura
c’era: paura di andare in casa di
persone che non parlavano
italiano, paura di non riuscire a
comunicare … Una volta toccato,
però, il suolo spagnolo ci è
voluto un attimo per capire che
sarei riuscita ad adattarmi.
Abbiamo visto tante cose belle e
ci siamo relazionati con persone
di Stati e culture diverse dalla
nostra e per questo ringrazio la
scuola per avermi dato una simile
opportunità: provare emozioni
che non dimenticherò mai.
22. E PER AVERE UN’IDEA CONCRETA, GIORNO PER GIORNO, DI CIÒ
CHE ABBIAMO VISSUTO……BUONA VISIONE A TUTTI!
