• instruction, training & supervision to employees
• giving employees participation in any WHS decisions
that affect them

4. Roles & Responsibilities
in the WHS Committee
• Focus on resolving problems by considering the
appropriate recommendations to put to management
• Support the Chairperson, ensuring the meeting keeps on
track
• Ensure there are clear outcomes from the meeting
• Agree on a date and place for next meeting
• Ensure there is follow-up after the meeting

Identifies all things that could cause injury or illness
Within a 6 month period
the HR department will distribute a
Workplace Health and Safety Checklist
for all Health and Safety Reps (HSRs)
to complete

7. 2. Risk Assessment
A process that determines…

of the effects on the people exposed to the hazard
The Workplace Health and Safety
Inspection Checklist
is the responsibility of the
Human Resources Department

8. 3. Risk Control
The Human Resources Department
will then take the required actions
for identified hazards

9. Hazard, Incident & Injury Reporting Procedures
• Immediately report all hazards, incidents and injuries to
your Manager
• Complete an Accident/Incident Report Form and record
any injuries on the Register of Injuries
• If claiming Workers Compensation, ask your Manager to
contact your insurance company
• Keep regular contact with your Manager and insurance
company
• Keep copies of any injury related documents
