1. Confidentiality
A mandatory annual Confidentiality Awareness training class can be put in place where
all confidentiality and privacy rules and laws are discussed and the repercussions of
breaching them are stated. The training class would be required of all employees to take
annually. A test of questions at the end of the training session would be required to be
answered by all employees to ensure understanding of the rules. Only passing scores
would be accepted, so retaking of the class would be required. The class can be set up for
employees to interact over the computer and take it or it can be set up to be taken in a
class room setting.
I think this training can be effective for the employees because it will confront them with
the realization of the seriousness of patient confidentiality. It seems to me that employees
were making light of the importance of this issue, therefore having a yearly reminder will
encourage them to take it serious and refrain from doing it.
