RF3 (Research Friendlier, eFficient, and
Faster): IMPROVING STUDENTS’ LEAD TIME IN
CRAFTING PRACTICAL 2 RESEARCH PROPOSALS
INTRODUCTION
PR2 is offered in the 1st Semester in the Schools Division of
Carcar City and consumes 20 weeks or equivalent to 5
months. Hearings for research proposals should be done
within the 9th or 10th week.
RA 10533, Sec 2b states that K-12 curriculum should be
learner-oriented and responsive to the needs, cognitive
and cultural capacity, the circumstances and diversity of
learners.
INTRODUCTION
Grade 12 HUMSS students of Gelacio C. Babao Sr. MNHS finds
it difficult to produce good quantitative research proposals
on time. Majority of the researchers pass not on time, two to
four weeks late, according to school’s PR 2 research timeline
of activities.
With this, there is a need to solve the current research
system of Gelacio C. Babao Sr. MNHS.
There is no existing and institutionalized systematic process
practiced in the school and practiced and obsolete system.

RELATED STUDIES
Aimed to determine undergraduate students’ problems
and factors in writing research proposals and found out
three potential factors: (1)psychological factors, (2) socio-
cultural factors, (3) linguistic factors (Rastri et. al. , 2023).
The study shows in psychological factors, “having difficulty
to find current sources (no longer 10 years)” being the
highest.

RESEARCH QUESTIONS
This action research aims to answer the following:
General Question: How effective is RF3?
Specific Questions:
1. What is the current lead time of the research proposals of student
researchers in Gelacio C. Babao Sr. MNHS before RF3?
2. What is the new lead time of the research proposals of student
researchers in Gelacio C. Babao Sr. MNHS after RF3?
3. Is there a significant difference of the lead time before and after the
implementation of RF3?
