WiFi hacking carries civil culpability in addition to criminal consequences. The owner of the network may be able to sue the hacker for damages if they get unauthorized access to it. This may cover the price of rectifying whatever harm the hacker may have done as well as any revenue that was lost as a result of the hacker’s conduct.
