This document compares the Marvel films "Avengers" and "Guardians of the Galaxy". Both films feature teams that form to defeat threats to the world. They display moral values like teamwork and leadership. The technologies used are futuristic, and the villains in each film seek powerful objects - the "Casket of Ancient Winters" and the "Infinity Gem". Overall, the document analyzes the similarities between the two science fiction films in their themes, characters, and technologies portrayed.

2. Compare essay between “Avengers” and “Guardians of the Galaxy”
Science fiction is one of the most welcomed genres among all the movie genres.
Science fiction movie is a movie genre that uses science fiction as speculative, fictional
science-based depictions of phenomena that are not fully accepted by mainstream
science, such as extraterrestrial life forms, alien words, extrasensory perception and
time travel, along with futuristic elements. For example, spacecrafts, robots, interstellar
space travel or other technologies. With all of these elements in addition with the
advanced movie maker technologies, an eye-opening science-fiction movie can easily
be produced and screened. Of all the science-fiction movies, I have decided to compare
“Avengers” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” which are my all time favorite.
The first similarity is team forming. The Avengers is a team of superheroes in the
universe. The Avengers included Captain America, Iron-man, Ant-Man, Hulk, Thor,
Wasp and a variety of heroes. The foe in the movie is Thor’s brother, Loki. He is the one
who enter the world with a plan to conquer its inhabitants and steal an elusive object.
The threat damaged the world. The Avengers team is the most renowned and
formidable super-hero team in the world, an ever-shifting assemblage of super-beings,
adventurers and crime fighters loyalty to protect the planet. Whilst, the “Guardians of the
Galaxy” is a team of freedom warriors in 31st century. This team is lead by Star-Lord
which also a main character in the movie. The team of “Guardians of the Galaxy”
included Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Groot and Rocket Racoon. The team formed to beat
with galactic-level threats. Both teams are formed to rescue the world.
The next similarity will be the moral value. Obviously, teamwork and leadership
play the role in both movies. The movies show their teams to defeat against enemies.
As we can see Captain America in Avengers displays many of his strengths, but
leadership which is more signatures for him. His leadership emerges strongly during the
final fight as he orchestrates the team in terms of the direction and type of attack each
team member will employ. Teamwork had been demonstrated in the final battle. All the
superheroes bring all their unique abilities and stay united to fight against Loki. While,
Star-Lord in “Guardians of the Galaxy” showing a good leadership, he invited Groot,
Rocket, Drax and Gamora to defeat the evil. At first, the guardians are not willing to join
for a team, but Star-Lord had conquered them as he became a leader. He plans and
leads the guardian to fight in the best direction. The teamwork is shown as each of the
five guardians starts out their own goals and motivations, and sets out to achieved
these.

3. The third similarity is used of technology. The technology used in Avengers is
about futuristic. For example, Iron Man’s armor is the object that use advanced
technology to produce. It is functions as micro electromechanical systems, information
technology, advanced materials, nanotechnology, optoelectronic and voice processing.
It can detect outside situation and automatically the armor become function. “Guardians
of the Galaxy” technology is combined with 70’s 80’s and future. In the first part of the
movie, Peter Quill – Star Lord open up song with a cassette, which shown a 70’s. The
spaceship called ‘Milano’ which is Peter Quill’s ride. Something in his ship is channeling
with some childhood nostalgia. Besides, the ship built with some leatherwork. The ship
has 80’s retro feel. The futuristic technologies use in the movie such as spaceship. Both
movies are using future technologies.
Last but definitely not the least, the similarity for both movies is the object that
evil wanted. The evil of “Avengers” who is Loki, he wants to steal a thing called “Casket
of Ancient Winters”. The “Casket of Ancient Winters” is an artifact from the realm of the
Frost Giants and a powerful and deadly weapon. The Casket is powered by an
apparently limitless supply of magical energy. When opened, it releases powerful arctic
weather that is capable of freezing anything in its path, killing humans and immobilizing
Asgardians. The Casket can make Loki become the World formidable people. In the
other side, a purple gem that appear in “Guardians of the Galaxy” is called Infinity gem
also as known as space gem. In the reality, there are 6 types of infinity gem, there are
soul gem, power gem, time gem, reality gem, space gem and mind gem. The ability of
space gem is can travel through space, mostly through teleportation. Not only that, it
able to interfere with the motion of other objects. But, when all six are directly wielded
together, nothing is impossible for their bearer. Both movies showing that the evil need
the power and ability to conquer the world.
In a conclusion, “Avengers” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” have successfully
published themselves as a science-fiction film by delivering unexpected futuristic
technologies, robotic. In addition, both movies can make people in more imagination of
the future. These movies are the most welcoming film in collection of Marvel insists of
science-fiction. Hope these types of film can produced more and more brilliant to satisfy
people demand.
