This community service project aims to avoid the usage of chemicals on fruits and vegetables. The team conducted surveys in a village and fruit ripening community. They found that farmers commonly use pesticides to increase crop yields, but pesticide residues can remain on produce and cause health issues when consumed. The fruit ripening community was previously using the harmful chemical calcium carbide to artificially ripen fruits. The team's goal is to promote more natural and organic farming techniques like vermicompost and biofertilizers to reduce chemical usage and pesticide exposure from foods.
