Communist Manifesto Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of the "Communist Manifesto" can be a challenging endeavor,
requiring a deep understanding of historical contexts, political ideologies, and socio-economic
theories. The complexity of this task lies in the need to dissect and analyze the seminal work
authored by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, delving into the intricate layers of their ideas and
the implications of their revolutionary vision.
To begin with, the "Communist Manifesto" is a text steeped in historical significance, demanding
meticulous research to comprehend the socio-political landscape of the 19th century. This
involves exploring the economic conditions, class struggles, and philosophical underpinnings that
influenced the authors. Furthermore, one must navigate the evolution of Marxist thought,
considering its impact on subsequent political movements and the critiques it has faced over time.
Additionally, constructing an essay on this topic necessitates a nuanced understanding of
political theory. Engaging with Marxist concepts such as historical materialism, class
consciousness, and the inevitable transition to communism requires a careful examination of
these ideas and their applicability to different historical and contemporary contexts.
Moreover, an effective essay on the "Communist Manifesto" should not merely summarize its
content but critically evaluate its strengths and weaknesses. This involves exploring alternative
perspectives and engaging with scholarly debates surrounding Marxist theory, adding an extra
layer of complexity to the writing process.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the "Communist Manifesto" demands a thorough grasp of
historical, political, and philosophical dimensions. The complexity lies not only in understanding
the text itself but also in navigating the extensive literature and scholarly discussions
surrounding it. Successfully unraveling the intricacies of this topic requires dedication, analytical
prowess, and a commitment to presenting a well-informed and coherent argument.

The Cathedral Of Canterbury Cathedral
The word Cathedral is a Latin word for chair Cathedra which was taken from the
Greek Kathedra meaning seat. The Canterbury Cathedral is located in England,
United Kingdom. The Cathedral is one of the most famous and oldest Christian
structures in England. 597 AD was the founding of Canterbury Cathedral. The
cathedral s physical context is located in a sprawl area meaning there is low density
residential, there are many other attractions around such as the theatre, hotel and
museum. Saint Augustine was the first ever Archbishop of Canterbury. The style of
the Cathedral is Gothic; Anglo Norman and its dedication is Christ. The church was
occupied by a community of monks living under religious vows.
Over 180 years after the last Roman troops left Britain, King Ethelbert at the time
king of the people of Kent. The king s wife Queen Bertha was a Christian and she
worshipped at an old Roman Church, which was called St Martin s Church.
Augustine had succeeded in converting the King Ethelbert to Christianity. Canterbury
was the centre of the revived Christian Church in England. Augustine also established
a building occupied by a community of monks between St Martin s Church which is
now known today as St Augustine s Abbey. Augustine was also given another Roman
Church by King Ethelbert which was later then developed into Canterbury Cathedral
which was Augustine s most memorable development. Augustine s original building
of the Cathedral lies beneath the floor of the Nave,
US Secret Service Case Study
Introduction
The U.S Secret Service is among the constituents of the department of Homeland
Security. It was originally part U.S Department of Treasury (Reese, 2009). The
agency was mainly formed to fight the production of counterfeit money which had
affected nearly a third of the country s population. Its responsibilities eventually
increased after financial crimes increased and political leaders became a target for
assassination. The agency constitutes of two sections namely: the special agent and
the uniformed sections. The main duty of the uniformed section is to guard and
protect the white house and make sure its residents are safe and secures. Among
them are the president s and vice president s family, other foreign dignitaries on state

These include: investigative and protective missions
Investigative mission
At the end of World War II, currency counterfeiting activities began. This led to the
launching of the secret service so as to deal with these counterfeiting activities. The
nation s infrastructure was later on attacked when these illegal activities expanded
more crimes, among counterfeiting, such as commercial, personality theft and
computer based fraud and attacks. These investigations are done with the help of
forensic personnel who scrutinizes evidence (Reese, 2009).
Protection
Its protective mission began in the 1890 s when assassination became a national
threat, after the president was assassinated. It ensures that the government officials of
the high rank and their immediate members of their relations are protected. This
extended to the presidential political candidates and those elected. The U S secret
service secured surroundings using specialized resources to decrease the dangers and
susceptibilities. These resources among others included counter sniper, emergency
response team and integration of various technologies and inspired personnel

Howard Zinn Thesis
Howard Zinn s A People s History of the United States is a distinct alternative to most
mainstream history textbooks. Zinn s perspective of different complicated historical
issues is exemplified through his unique writing and helps the reader understand
different convoluted events. The point of view that Zinn chooses allows him to
express hardships and struggles through the perspective of America s victims, slaves,
African Americans, Native Americans, the working poor, and the immigrant
laborers. By speaking for the voiceless, Zinn is able to provide readers ample detail
while looking at sensitive times in American history. Zinn starts with Columbus and
progressively moves into recent history; he extensively illustrates the hidden class
struggles and the fight to replace a broken political system, but still remains
insightful and takes a holistic approach while evaluating American History. Howard
Zinn opens his textbook with Columbus and the Age of Exploration, alternatively, he
focuses on slavery and racial prejudice. Not only does Zinn... Show more content on

A People s History of the United States talks about Bacon s rebellion white

and economic forces that drove this uprising by creating and displaying an unfair
class consciousness. He explains white elitists pursuing their personal interest without
concern for the lifestyle of the lower classes, especially the natives. The unjust
system described as a complex chain of oppression in Virginia (40). This is when the
frontiersman had virtually no power over the Virginia elite or any influence towards

How to Date a Browngirl, Blackgirl, Whitegirl, and Halfie
The short story How to Date a Browngirl, Blackgirl, Whitegirl, and Halfie by Junot
Diaz is the main character, Yunior s, guide to dating girls of different races and the
ways to act in order to get what you want from them. The only thing Yunior seems to
want for these girls is sexual acts. This short story argues that a person s heritage,
economic class, and raceaffect how a person identifies themselves, and how their
identity affects how they act towards other people. The pressures a person may feel
from society also has an effect on how a person treats themselves and others. The
pressure and expectations from society are also what makes Yunior think he needs to
have sex with these girls. There are many different occasions of the main... Show

He acts differently towards his friends and other boys his age in the neighborhood.
For example, when his friend refers to the girl Yunior is trying to date as that bitch
Yunior only agrees with him (Diaz 236). He doesn t defend them at all, which is
an indication that he doesn t care for these girls at all, only what they ll do for him.
He also says that he will call his friends and let them know He did it if he does
hook up with one of these girls, with no respect for them. This is indicating that he
is trying to hook up with these girls because he feels like his friends expect him too.
Yunior does this because he sees other boys doing these things, and he wants to be
like them. He wants to be the same and be accepted, and that s why he treats these
different people in different ways. The main character also treats girls of different
races differently. He wrongly suggests that if a girl is white, that you will
definitely get a hand job before the night is through, if not more (Diaz 235). He
says that white girls are the girls everyone really wants to date, because they are
easy. This is why he does many things that white boys do. He also says that not
many white girls live in his neighborhood, that the locals tend to be brown girls,
black girls, or halfies. This is probably because many of the white people are of a
higher economic class then he is. If they are in a higher economic class then he is,

Even when one is able to pass the practical hurdles, one must deal with the social
concerning hurdles such as language and cultural differences. Even with the help of
organization such as World Health Organization, providing medical necessities
remains a concerning problem. Healthcare providers must be able to subdue all of
these hurdles to be able to provide adequate service to their rural patients.
2
Definition
It has been a problem to discuss the medical needs of rural areas simply because
there are many areas that fall under the rural category. The term rural is considered
very vague: a sparsely populated non urban region. This means that the term rural
can be branded to areas ranging from semi developed areas such as Lanai, to the
almost isolated villages of Yendi. Rural populations differentiate from one another
depending on the region they reside in. However, these regions have some things in
common such as non condensed population.
Although the amount of inhabitants varies from area to area, most rural areas share
a constant. The population density of almost all rural areas is low. Yendi, for
example has a population 52,000 condensed in a area of 4,087.2 square kilometers.
Burley, Idaho, another rural area is slightly more condensed with a population of
10,456 residing in 16 square kilometers. When compared to the 12,150,996
inhabitants living within the 4,496 square kilometers of the urbanized Los
Dietary Supplements Can Damage the Liver
Many people use dietary supplements to boost their health and prevent disease. It is
reported that up to 40% of adults use at least one over the counter dietary
supplement daily and most of these people do not ask or inform their doctors about
taking these supplements. Herbal and nonherbal health supplements are popular
because some people believe it is easier to take these than to buy and prepare
healthy meals, especially when they are busy with work or if quality foods are not
easily available. To others, taking specific food supplements is a means to increase
immunity to certain diseases, support bodybuilding, or achieve weight loss. Some
health care providers recommend taking dietary supplements to replace nutritional
deficiencies but most experts advise consuming a healthy, balance diet that provides
most of the nutrients one needs to maintain health. Supplements that can Damage the
Liver Studies show that certain dietary supplements, especially vitamins, minerals
and antioxidants have many health benefits, which includes prevention of cancer,
heart disease, and diabetes. However, experts warn that some herbal and dietary
supplements have side effects, especially when taken in large doses or if they are
taken for long periods. Research shows that almost 20% of all liver injuries
recorded from 2003 2011 are associated with chronic intake of certain herbal and
dietary supplements. The worst offenders are bodybuilding supplements, which was
linked to 34%, and
Romanticism In Coleridge s The Rime Of The Ancient
Mariner
Coleridge had been a neighbor, friend and collaborator of Wordsworth and their
partnership remained fruitful for the growth of English literature. Their publication
of Preface to Lyrical Ballads heralded the birth of Romanticism. Coleridge along
with Wordsworth, librated 18th century s poetry from the strict shackles and put
along the road to new freedom and achievement. Compared to Wordsworth,
Coleridge was subtle and comprehensive, more gifted with poetic sensibilities, but
he was indolent and dreamy and liked to lay on the floating lotus like Lord Vishnu
and wake up a while only to sleep again for ages. Coleridge s The Rime of The
Ancient Marinerhas been founded on a dream of his friend Cruickshank, who
fancied, he has been a skeleton ship with figures in it. It was Wordsworth, who
suggested Coleridge the killing of the Albatross, the revenge of spirits and the
stillness of the ship and consequently his sailors dying of thirst. Coleridge blended
natural with supernaturaland gave a romantic touch to his poetry. What is the
supernatural? Through the ages this phenomenon cannot be explained by the known
laws of nature. If these supernatural elements lead to the happiness of man they are
consider being benevolent, but If they cause suffering and misery they are called evil
spirits. Literature has continuously been enriched by stories in... Show more content

Thus he appeals to our imagination rather than to the senses. In Ancient Mariner
when the skeleton ship approaches to the sailors the verse full of details occurs in
the original text which is afterward omitted. Perhaps Coleridge believes that these
terrible incidents of the gruesomeness do not add to the suggestiveness of the
creation. Even the description of the Mariner having a skinny hand and glittering eyes
have a suggestive meaning. The wedding Guest is hypnotized by the Mariner. Thus,
he keeps his supernatural to a suggestive
Consequences Of Teen Dating Violence
In my last paper I touched base on some of the consequences for Teen Dating
Violence (TDV) but closely focused on the victims and much less on the actual
abuser. In today s paper I would like to focus more on the aspects of the law side of
TDV. What happens to the abusers after it is all said and done. Teen Dating Violence
occurs almost as Domestic Violence, the only difference is the term and the age
group that it affects solely. As a teenager 13 18 or a middle school child 13 and
younger, they are sometimes oblivious to the red flags (warning signs) of dating
violence, or even that they themselves may be abusing their boyfriends or
girlfriends and have no idea it is happening. Today I will discuss the after effects of
TFV after the abuse is already dealt. First let s talk about the physical consequences
a teen or middle school child could suffer from after abuser as the victim as well as
the abuser. Physical abuser may result in minor injuries all the way up to severe
injuries or even de3ath in some cases. Statistics say that nearly 1 in 4 teens in the
United States may be victims of severe domestic violence and their offenders most
all of the time end up being repeat abusers on into their adult ages. Although it is rare,
in some cases of physical violence it can affect the internal system as well such as,
affecting your immune systems, affecting the heart causing cardiovascular disease,
the intestines from severe threat of knife wounds, being kicked in the stomach both
Why Is Thomas Aquinas Important
In Thomas Aquinas Summa Theologica, St. Thomas enters into multiple discussions
on the essence and nature of humans, God, and everything else in between. Thomas
explores questions that are seen by others as too arduous to explore due to
complicated sophistication and/or various complex thought experiments.
Nonetheless, Thomas tackles such difficulties and breaks it down in his own style
with help from others who have embarked on the same treacherous journey. With a
lot of help from Aristotle, specifically, Thomas equates many of his ideas about life to
Aristotle s previous works. Thomas even gives multiple commentaries on Aristotle s
work, not something that most people can put on their rГ©sumГ©. It s quite simple
to see how brilliant Thomas... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The objector suggests that the law itself directs man in his actions, which to the
objector, seems to be concerned only with particular matters. It is then concluded
that the law is directed to some particular good, not the common good. Following
that argument, I would explain to the objector that particular goods are involved in
striving toward a larger goal. For instance, if my goal is to eat food, I may occupy
myself with the particular medium of cooking for myself, venturing to a
restaurant, mooching off of my friend, or whatever else seems to fit the mood at
that moment. Just because the end goal is concerned with a particular doesn t
mean the subject s mindset is contained to those individual particulars. Particulars
in every circumstance do in fact strive for an end of some sort. To break this down
further, let us take for example the basic law to not kill. In the United States, the
law is that people drive on the right side of the road. In other countries, it may be
on the left side. This specific law is aimed at the end of not killing, which in turn
promotes human flourishing. Thus, we can conclude that rules for driving on the
opposite sides of the road is aimed at the end of a common good. The objector is
saying that laws are concerned only with a particular matter or a particular good.
Following that logic
What Is The Boston Massacre
It was March 5, 1770, the people of Boston were protesting out in front of the old
state house. British soldiers patrolling King street, people hollering, this was the
Boston Massacre. Soldiers were sent to Boston to maintain control over the colonist
and they were not contented. A crowd has rapidly formed and they were tossing
things such as, rock filled snowballs, bricks, and stones while being insulted. Quoting
from witnesses, ВЁlobster backsВЁ, ВЁred coatsВЁ, cowards! And quoting Henry
Knox, ВЁFor GodВґs Sake, take care of your men. If they fire, they dieВЁ. But quite
a few things happened before all of this. General Preston had wanted to be prepared

get some form of a loan or credit in order to re invent their amusement park. They
should do some research on what other up and coming amusement parks are doing.
They should find a way to incorporate the things people look forward to in
amusement parks and what they have seen loyal customers gravitate towards the
most. In getting a business consultant instead of meetings with employees they can
gain perspective from a professional outside source. I believe that they should make
their park bigger if at all possible. This will allow them to keep the integrity of the
old amusement park with additives that new residents appreciate as well. They
will have to add a better restaurant and things for a person with a higher quality of
taste. I believe that the business consultant will help them through the stages of
decision making to come up with some solid solutions. I believe that the Salernos
can still keep their loyal customers happy by keeping the integrity of the old park.
By keeping some of the greatest attractions of the park loyal customers will feel like
things haven t changed completely. They can also do some kind of special pricing

Hello mother, father, this is your Louie talking. This will be the first time in two
years that you ve heard my voice. I am now interned at a Tokyo prisoner of war
camp and I m being treated as well as can be expected under wartime conditions. As
a viewer we can see the look of pure disgust and longing upon Louie s face. It was
evident that he wasn t eager to read what was prepared for him as it depicted a
false perception of what his wartime conditions were truly like. The fact that he had
to make it seem like he was well when in fact he was anything but. I am now able to
understand that what those in society often herd about their captured soldiers was
quite often incorrect. The enemy wanted to portray an image that hid the true
conditions and circumstances the American soldiers were subject to. I not only found
this film inspiring as it showed the resilience American soldiers had whilst confined
in the prisoner of warcamps but also found it interesting as it showed the truths of
war so vividly in way that could never be achieved through the use of written
words. As a result of this film I am able to see how much we owe these men for our
freedom, we were never truly able to appreciate the sacrifice made by those men and
women until viewing this incredible film. They went through so much to ensure the
freedom of many generations to come and if it wasn t for these men who knows
what our lives would be like today.

COST MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING
ANSWER 1.1
a)DIRECT COSTS: A direct cost is defined as the price that can be directly applied
to production of goods. The direct cost classifies direct material, direct labour and
manufacturing overheads. The direct cost is related to labour, raw material and
expenses related to the production of goods. Direct cost is simply as the cost that is
applied directly to the product. For example wages of full time and part time staff.
b)INDIRECT COSTS: Indirect cost can be defined as the cost which cannot be
directly applied to the product. In simple words any cost apart from direct material,
direct labour and manufacturing overheads is considered as indirect cost. For
example insurance of company building, wages of cleaners working in the company
premises etc.
c)FIXED COSTS: A fixed costis referred to a cost which doesn t changes with
circumstances. If there is a fixed cost of any product or service one has to pay the
cost. For example, the rent of the house is fixed that has to be paid every week, no
changes are acceptable. For example salary of full time staff.
d)VARIABLE COSTS: A variable cost is a changing cost. In case of any changes the
cost of the product changes. For example, the cost paid to a casual worker may vary.
More hours done by the worker will pay him well

So far there are many international human resources management models known, the
most used are: the Perlmutter Model, The Adler Ghadar Model, the Taylor Model
and the Geert Hofstede Model.
a.The Perlmutter model
In this model, Perlmutter gives 4 modalities on which multinational companies can
manage their human resources activities on an international level. Those modalities
are: ethnocentrism, polycentrism, geo centrism, and region centrism. This Model
shows how every multinational company can develop and implement human
resources strategies and policies at a level of daughter companies in a host country.
Besides the Perlmutter Model is a comparative management model since it helps to
identify the differences and resemblance, advantages and disadvantages between the
four (4) approaches a company can use to manage its human resources activities at an
international level.
b.The Adler Ghadar Model
For Adler N.J and Ghadar F., when multinational companies develop their activities at
an international level they have to concentrate their effort on many aspects of
organizational development. Therefore the authors have identified four stages of
development of an organization. The first stage happens at a national level, the
second stage is at international level while the third and fourth stages are at a
Multinational level and global level respectively. The table below describes well the
process: Stage 1

Liberal Education Research Paper
A liberal education is a unique form of education that teaches a student a wide range
of skills and also gives a student knowledge over a broad range of topics. Students
may still learn in depth on one primary subject but they are not limited to just that
topic. Instead they have the ability to expand their mind and touch on ideas about
subjects they otherwise would not know. To be liberally educated does not mean that
the studentwill just know the basis of a wide range of subjects. It means the student is
able to think deeper on topics, even from fields that they might not have much
knowledge about. Being liberally educated means the student isn t limiting
themselves to one particular area and ignoring the rest of the world and not even
thinking about it. A liberally educated student is able to go beneath the surface of
information and can find the true meaning of whatever they encounter. Just because a
student takes a wide range of classes and learns about many topics does not make
them liberally educated. The most important part of liberal educationis the students
drive to want to sharpen their mind and be able to understand deeper meaning and
concepts. If a student does not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is also a further purpose of a liberal education and that is to help society
move forward and in the ways that we think and learn. Liberal education is not just
beneficial to the person receiving it. If more people receive liberal educations the
people in our community will be more understanding and open to new ideas.
People seem to be close minded nowadays but if more people strived for a liberal
education we could make leaps and bounds to a better society and be more
accepting. Now more than ever people need to expand their minds and wisdom and
expand their faith. This could solve many of the issues that we currently face and
the easiest way for everyone to do this is to work for a liberal

The Cuban Embargo
It is time to lift the embargo
President Barack Obama stated In Cuba, we are ending a policy that was long past
its expiration date (qtd. in LeoGrande 939) in regard to the USA embargo against
Cuba. The embargo started on 1960, as an idea of the Eisenhower s administration to
cause the collapse of the emerging Cuban Socialist Regime by provoking economic
pressure. In 1962, President J. F. Kennedy, formally implemented the total embargo of
trade between the United States and Cuba, prohibiting any commercial and financial

A Case About A Female Jogger
Summary In the article, it first talks about a case about a female jogger who was
raped, horrendously beaten, and left abandoned in the park. The female jogger
survived, but lost her memory regarding the event. Police found five boys who were
apparently being wild in the park. They were convicted of the crime, even though
there was no physical evidence of them committing the crime. Four of the boys were
videotaped for the interrogation. All of them confessed to committing the crime in
shocking detail and were sentenced to prison. Thirteen years later, a man named
Matias Reyes admitted that he was the one who raped and beat up the female jogger.
The case was reopened and DNA testing proved that the semen samples on the victim

Eyewitness psychologists play a vital role in identifying the mistakes of eyewitnesses
and trying to diminish the error. To continue, before a police investigator does a
highly confrontational interrogation, they have to do an evaluation of the suspect to
determine if they are innocent or guilty. They do that by performing an information
gathering interview. At times, determining if a suspect is guilty or innocent, police
investigators have interviews with witnesses, and informants. They also get it from
evidence. Additionally, it is sometimes from crime related profiles about possible
culprits and their intentions. In addition, police investigators use the Reid technique.
The Reid technique involves using verbal cues, body language, and the person s
behavioral attitudes to determine if they are not telling the truth. Furthermore, the
techniques the police investigators use may not be 100% in determining deception
in a person. For example, in the case of Tom Sawyer, he was accused of murder and
sexual assault. The police investigators interrogated him for 16 hours and they got a
confession out of him. The reason he was the main suspect in the case was because
his face was red and he seemed to be embarrassed while doing the interview, which
were signs of deception. Little did the investigators know Tom Sawyer was a
recovering alcoholic who also had social anxiety disorder. Which was the reason he
was sweating uncontrollably and getting
Features Of Metaphysical Poetry
The first invention of the term Metaphysical Poetry by Samuel John as he pertained
to the group of writers in the beginning of the 17th century continues to give an
impertinent impression for this kind of works were made by men of high intellect.
Presenting new ideas and marveling through the art of conceit, imagery, and allusion
surprises every reader and challenges them to the wonders of the poet s learning. The
metaphysical poetsare the known writers for their originality. They were all unique
and original both in their thoughts and ideas. Instead of following the path of the
contemporary poets, they differentiated themselves in an unseen style of writing
before them. Because of this, they were known as the original poets of the English
Literature. There are classified major poets who lived during 1500 1799. They are
John Donne, George Herbert, Richard Crashaw, Abraham Cowley, Henry Vaughan,
Saint Robert Southwell, Thomas Traherne and Andrew Marvell. These are the well
known metaphysical poets of all time, but there are also lesser known poets and

Elliot, another characteristic of this poetry is the Unified Sensibility . It implies the
interrelationship or a combination of human thoughts and feelings. It delineates itself
to some poetry works in which the beauty of poetry only lies in the reason and
judgment of the writer rather than the person s feelings. That in the age of Pope,
poets creates their work purely with the use of their intellect and not with their
emotions and feelings. With this the Unification of Sensibility became the imperative
feature of metaphysical poetry. And since the metaphysical poets did not
disassociated feelings and reason from one another, it indicated a more spiritual and
physical , ethereal and earthly abstract and concrete ideas and
An Intentional Infliction Of Emotional Distress
Question Presented Does Samuel Taylor, the former member of the Local 718
Teamsters Union, have a cause of action against Ronald Murray, Local 718 business
representative, who repeatedly harassed Taylor for about four months and
intentionally inflicted emotional distress which resulted in Taylor s loss of twenty
pounds, extreme nervousness, loss of his union membership and his job? Brief
Answer Probably yes. Under Massachusetts law, a plaintiff has a claim for an
intentional infliction of emotional distressif all of the following elements are
satisfied: (1) the defendant intended, knew or reasonably have known that his
conduct will result in the emotional distress; (2) the defendant s conduct was
extreme and outrageous, beyond all possible limits of decency and utterly
intolerable in a civilized community; (3) the defendant s conduct is the cause of the
plaintiff s distress; and (4) the plaintiff s emotional agitation was so severe and of a
nature that no reasonable person could withstand. Here, Murray intended to inflict
emotional distress by harassing Taylor so he would cooperate with the union, it was
of extreme and outrageous manner, when he threatened Taylor s and his wife s life,
and caused the emotional agitation so severe, which no person could be reasonably
expected to endure, and as a result, Taylor withdrew his membership, quit his job,

PROCUREMENT PERFORMANCE AND VALUE MANAGEMENT
INTRODUCTION
To realize the success of a project, the value must be attained through the core
objectives and goals of the project to the stakeholders. This could be achieved by
using the right processes throughout the project life cycle.
VALUE MANAGEMENT
Value Management (VM) is a well structured or established process that is used for
defining and maximizing value of money (OCG, 2007 p.3). It is applicable to all
sort of projects regardless of being big or small and the duration and it runs
throughout the project life cycle from the inception to completion. Its benefits have
been found to be efficient and effective when an external facilitator being a consultant

al., 2011).
EXAMPLE FROM PUBLIC SECTOR
Value Management was applied in the California Department of Transport (Caltrans)
when Anthler s Bridge Crossing was being re constructed by saving ВЈ7million and
increases its traffic operation performance by 19%. This has aided in solving the
problem of transportation from the previous constructed bridge and its traffic
congestion and reduces life cycle cost to maximize project performance (OGC, 2007
p.39)
EXAMPLE FROM PRIVATE ORGANISATION
The Dow Chemical Company over the last four years has developed a vision,
functional systems, and tools, for the value management of its Intellectual Assets
(IA). This initiative has developed some competencies in the area of measuring and
valuing IA, and in developing systems that support the leveraging of IA for maximum
value (Petrash, 1999)
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, PM s must ensure alignment of value management and procurement
performance management to have effective procurement process since the two are
correlated. Implementing these two concepts reduces waste and defects, increases
production efficiency, reduce cost and also help in decision making.

Essay Role of Women in Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit
Role of Women in Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit
In the novel Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit, by Jeanette Winterson, most of the
important, decision making, characters are female. Jeanette, the female protagonist,
is greatly influenced by her mother, a strong, overbearing, eccentric woman, and by
Elsie, a prominent member of the family parish who becomes Jeanette s only friend
and closest confidant. Elsie and Jeanette s mother act as polar forces in Jeanette s life,
with the mother encouraging suppression of unholy or unnatural feelings and
thoughts, and Elsie encouraging expression of feelings and accepting oneself for
who one really is.
Jeanette s mother, referred to by name only once in the novel, is probably the second

through, she suppressed them by condemning Next Door s behavior.
Throughout the book, many attempts are made by Jeanette s mother to make Jeanette
suppress her feelings and sexual orientation. When Mother finds out that Jeanette is
a lesbian, she kicks her out of the house, saying, You ll have to leave, I m not havin
demons here. (Page 136). That incident, however, happens only after Mother and the
Pastor try many times to make Jeanette repent and renounce her sexual feelings
toward women, including trying to make her feel guilty and shameful, sending away
her sexual partners, and locking her in a room for thirty six without food or light.
Elsie, on the other hand, offers a different approach to life, and serves as a
counterexample to Mother s repressive influences. Elsie is a member of the church
who befriends Jeanette and understands her problems, and is one of the only people
with whom Jeanette feels open and comfortable. The manner in which Elsie
encourages Jeanette to express herself can be seen when the young protagonist
skillfully crafts a sampler which her teachers criticize sharply for it s text, which

How To Write An Essay On The Hobbit
The Hobbit by John Ronald Reul Tolkien
When J.R.R tolkien set his himself down to write the hobbit. He was attempting to

He wrote about these needs and his purpose in an essay called J.R.R. Tolkien, On

The world of fairy takes just as much time and effort to get over the loss of a loved
one as our world. The world of fairy takes the the form more of an allegory than a
cure. Tolkien turned his grief into a magical world full of monsters and obstacles
to overcome to distract himself from the real challenges he faced. He wasn t aware
he was doing this and i think he held that ignorance to his grave. For a better look
at it we must look through the perspective of Sigmund Freud and his philosophical
concepts. I m going to go into depth on two of his concepts as they are very fitting
with Tolkien s work and background. However there is the possibility that more than
these two possibly even all of Freud s concepts can be applied to Tolkien. The first
concept being that of The unconscious mind , in which Freud believes our mind has
three parts. The first level is consciousness which consists of thoughts that are the
currently occupying our mind. This is a very basic concept it s essentially saying
what you are currently thinking or in this case reading is your conscious mind at
work. The second level is the preconscious level, another simple concept as it is
simply your memory. What you did this morning, what you had for breakfast these
are all examples of the preconscious mind. The third level and the one we will be
addressing is that of the

comfort and personal convenience. The commerce of aviation, both the operation of
commercial aircraft for profit and the development of aeronautical systems, is also an
important symbol of national prestige and a powerful economic force. Safety in air

Simply stated, the Board s mission is to prevent accidents and save lives in
transportation. And although the NTSB s mission is primarily a proactive one the
prevention of transportation accidents the agency accomplishes this mission by being
reactive in responding to catastrophic events. In reality, the Board uses the lessons
learned from real world accidents as catalysts to prevent future occurrences. The
NTSB aims to improve quality through the analysis of failure.
Board Membership
The Board consists of five Members appointed by the President with the consent of
the Senate ( Code of Federal Regulations Part 800 ). This allows the agency much
more latitude when investigating accidents and making recommendations. With the
absence of a separate agency to report to, such as the FAA or DOT, the board can
exercise its full discretion without fear of retribution. The NTSB currently employs a
workforce of 402, including office clerks, investigators, engineers, specialists and
writers, making it the smallest federal agency within the United States government

The Quality Of Quality Assurance Essay
Quality assurance can be defined as a system to monitor to and evaluate a product
or a service. It identifying and recommending measures to make improvements to
set standards and performance and ensuring everything is working well aiming to
avoid problems keeping everything running smooth and improve products and
services. In relation to the teaching, training assessing it ensures the product
/service which the learner is receiving being to correct standard and the internal
quality assurance are the checks which are done to ensure this is occurring. The
IQA Process is carried out from the start and only ends at the completion of the
product or service, in the case of the assessing is the learner s journey through the
learning cycle, and enables the learner to be tracked at each stage of the process.
Assessment and IQA is a continuous process and should be monitored and evaluated
at all times. This allows actions for improvement which can be implemented It is
important that an IQA is appointed to carry out quality assurance when assessment
activities are taking place, the IQA should include the following tasks: plan what
will be monitored, from whom and when observe training and assessor practice, and
give developmental feedback sample assessment records, learners work and assessor
decisions meet with learners and others, for example, witnesses facilitate the
standardisation of assessor practice hold team meetings support assessors Upholding

persistent discipline problems end careers for many young teachers. Polat, Kaya, and

I believe the improvement of my students is attributed to the improvement of my
skills in the above mentioned areas of classroom management.
Even though improvement has been made, there is still more work to be done. Two
areas that need improvement deal with peer mediation techniques and forming
successful partnerships with parents. The first seldom happens and the latter happens
with less frequency I had hoped for in finding support for student learning and
behavior. One example where peer mediation would be effective is conflict between
students arising from something done or said to them. For instance, a child
approached me to say someone hit them when in fact the other child was trying to
remove a bug off the accusers back. This misunderstanding or miscommunication
consumes time away from instruction and does not empower children to solve
conflicts correctly on their own. Another area I want to focus on is establishing more
partnerships with parents. Even though I did establish a handful of partnerships by e
mailing parents activity pictures of their child throughout the year, I feel much more
can be accomplished. The quality of such a relationship as reported by Gurland and
Evangelista (2015) predicts the outcome of future achievements. Thus, the following
are SMART goals created to strengthen the areas pertaining to peer mediation and
parent relationships. By September 5, 2016,
The Customs Union and Turkish Foreign Policy
The Customs Union and Turkish Foreign Policy
Economical developments in Turkey and the world keep moving in an
incredible speed. With the increasing world trade volume and gradually
intensifying rivalry, companies efforts for strengthening their market shares are
increasing day by day. Being able to keep alive in the middle of this rivalry
depends on being successful in the international platform. The industrialized
countries aiming to get out of this situation with the minimum loss have started
to give more significance to their economical security. It can be seen that
preventions such as goods and amount restriction has decreased and local
commercial and political integrations has become stronger during this current
globalization period. The locations of the countries vary constantly by either
participating to global organizations (World Trade Organization) or to regional
formations (Europe Union and The Customs Union). In this context, the
most significant economical and political consolidation that we face among
Europe countries is EU.
One of the basic foundations of partnership relationship between Turkey and
EU is The Customs Union. The Customs Union process was triggered by the
Protocol of Katma, which was signed between Turkey and European Economic
Community. With Katma Protocol s coming into force on 1 January 1973, Turkey
got the right of reaching industry goods of Community market without customs.

The Pros And Cons Of The World Cup
Is it a good idea for Fifa to change the amount of nations that qualify to the World
Cup from 32 to 48? Fifa has decided to expand the amount of nations that make the
WC starting in the 2026 World cup that will be hosted either in Canada, USA, or
Mexico. This is going to have its pros and cons but mainly it will be very more
exciting and it will show more signs of progressing, starting off with the fact that
economically wise it will be a huge plus, it will bring more passion to the game that
is loved by millions worldwide, and last it will make the competition longer than it
is with 32 nations. The way qualification works with 32 nations is very simple, In
Europe for example, each group has 6 countries from Europe, one group for
instance being Netherlands, France, Sweden, Bulgaria, Belarus, and Luxembourg.
There are a total of 9 groups and basically you play every opponent in your group 2
times home and away in a span of 3 years. at the end of the 3 years the top 2 nations
from each group go straight to the world, the 3rd place one has to play a two leg
play off game against another country that also ends in 3rd, the winner of that goes
to the world cup. This works the same way with every other region in the world with
the only difference being with the amount of countries in a group and how... Show

Three positive things that this book teaches about humanity is that people can be

German Propaganda In The Third Reich Analysis
There is no doubt that the Nazis committed unspeakable acts of horror during the
Holocaust. Millions of Jews were murdered by people enthralled by the propaganda
of Hitler and the Nazi Party. The main question however is how ordinary people were
convinced to take part in horrible acts. Many explanations exist to answer this
question. Author William Golding suggested that all humans have the capability to
be Nazis. One can certainly believe this statement after acknowledging the horrific
acts of the common German during the Holocaust. I agree that every human has the
capability to commit unspeakable acts of horror under the right conditions. Theo

I agree with Theo Bailey s conclusion that the German people were brainwashed to
believe that Jews were evil and inferior. German people believed in the Nazi
propaganda that created fear and resentment. In this case Germans felt threatened
by the Jews and lost their moral values. I believe that humans will act in violence
when they feel threatened or believe that their violence is justified by a grater
good. In his article titled Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust, Daniel J.
Goldhagen argues that the reason why ordinary Germans participated in the mass
murder of of the Jewish people was to obey orders and fearing for their own lives if
they did not participate. I believe that ordinary people can commit acts that may go
against their moral belief if their own life is at risk. Goldhagen further argues that
the ordinary German was coerced into participation by the social pressures they
experienced. This element is similar to the peer pressure we all experience in
wanting to be part of a group. Goldhagen stated, It is, so goes the argument,
extremely difficult for individuals to resist pressures to conform, pressures which can
lead individuals to participate in acts which they on their own would not do, indeed
would abhor. (n.

The inequality between the Great Britain Colonies in Great Britain and the US was
one of the long term causes of the Revolution. These variations mainly dealt with
issues such as declaratory acts, rights, the proclamation and taxation, sugar act and
the intolerable acts. The British took over France s colonies in North America after
the War between the French and India. Britain wanted its colonies to realize that it
was in charge. Consequently, they made an effort to control the economic and
political affairs in their colonies. American colonies dissented this British strategy
since they were not content being under British rule. The British used their
superiority to enact laws in the parliament. Unfortunately, Americans did not hold any

Dr. Johnson s Death Of Death For The Cold Blooded
Atrocity
In March 1906, Tennessee native Ed Johnson was sentenced to death for the rape of
eighteen year old Nevada Taylor. Mr. Johnson supposedly choked the victim with a
leather strap and subsequently sexually assaulted her. When testifying, the woman
only had one adjective to describe the perpetrator, a word that damned the twenty six
year old to a guilty verdict; black. Although he had never been in possession of a
leather strap, had a sound alibi verified by countless testimonies, and the rape victim
never definitively identified Mr. Johnson during the trial, the all white jury came to
the conclusion that the African American man was undeniably responsible for the
cold blooded atrocity. A day later, while sitting in his cell, a mob of white men
dragged Ed Johnson out of the jailhouse, paraded him around the streets, and
ultimately hanged the guiltless man at Walnut Street Bridge. The men then began to
fire round after round at his lifeless body for the amusement of townsfolk who had
gathered to watch the lynching, until, one stray bullet severed the rope, (Yellin 1). As
the bloody corpse fell to the ground to the delight of the white children, one of the
men put the barrel of his gun to Mr. Johnson s head and fired five times, (Yellin 1).
The men faced no charges and nearly one hundred years later the Supreme Court
found the viciously murdered man innocent. Unfortunately, when it comes to
promoting justice for non white Americans, the United States criminal justice system
Zeitoun Book Report
Sitting in english class, you are handed this book called Zeitoun. Weeks go by, and
you just finished the book; but then your teacher has some news about the book.
News that would alter the way you feel about the book. Zeitoun, by Dave Eggers, is
a book about this family who gives you their opinion and the inside story on what it
was like for their family when Hurricane Katrinahit New
Orleans. Zeitoun, who is the father, goes through imprisonment for unknown reasons
until later he was convicted of looting, his family evacuating New Orleans while he
stayed behind, and the aftermath of the storm hitting the area forcefully. Even though
he had to go through all of this, Eggers portrays Zeitoun as this unbreakable super
hero that is willing to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eggers did a fantastic job of showing this. Taking the way he wrote could lead to
clues that he actually did try to incorporate the way Zeitoun treated his wife and
family. Eggers really did not fully show that Zeitoun was an unbreakable superhero.
He shows how Zeitoun and Kathy disagree on things and how they argue.(Nashe)
When Zeitoun and Kathy went on that walk to this huge rock, Kathy said multiple
times how she wanted to turn back around and forget about what they promised.
Zeitoun would not let her turn around. He would say that they had come to far to
turn back. This could allude to the abuse he put Kathy under. The rock could be the
goal, and Zeitoun would want to stay together and prove that they had a strong
marriage and a strong will to grow together. Kathy turning around could act like her
wanting to give up everything they went through and for the both of them to start
off brand new; but Zeitoun won. They walked to the rock, but even though Kathy
kept up the strong act for a while, it did not last. Eggers also showed he was
stubborn and that he put a lot of effort into his work. Zeitoun eventually became a
workaholic, partly because of the fact he was imprisoned. After the storm though,
Eggers shows how both of them are broken.(Nashe) Without indirectly adding these
little hints, it is easy to say that Eggers probably did not know about the abuse; but
since there are the tiny hint, it is possible to say that Eggers might have known about
some of it. He might not have known all the details, but he perhaps knew a little
something. He does not have the right to come out and just say that Kathy was
abused because he used what the family gave to him. If they gave him the
information, he should have said something, but if they did not give him the
information he can not just accuse Zeitoun. The fact that Eggers and the filmmaker,
Jonathan Demme, said Our primary

  • 4. Howard Zinn Thesis Howard Zinn s A People s History of the United States is a distinct alternative to most mainstream history textbooks. Zinn s perspective of different complicated historical issues is exemplified through his unique writing and helps the reader understand different convoluted events. The point of view that Zinn chooses allows him to express hardships and struggles through the perspective of America s victims, slaves, African Americans, Native Americans, the working poor, and the immigrant laborers. By speaking for the voiceless, Zinn is able to provide readers ample detail while looking at sensitive times in American history. Zinn starts with Columbus and progressively moves into recent history; he extensively illustrates the hidden class struggles and the fight to replace a broken political system, but still remains insightful and takes a holistic approach while evaluating American History. The only thing Yunior seems to want for these girls is sexual acts. This short story argues that a person s heritage, economic class, and raceaffect how a person identifies themselves, and how their identity affects how they act towards other people. The pressures a person may feel from society also has an effect on how a person treats themselves and others. The pressure and expectations from society are also what makes Yunior think he needs to have sex with these girls. There are many different occasions of the main... For example, when his friend refers to the girl Yunior is trying to date as that bitch Yunior only agrees with him (Diaz 236). He doesn t defend them at all, which is an indication that he doesn t care for these girls at all, only what they ll do for him. He also says that he will call his friends and let them know He did it if he does hook up with one of these girls, with no respect for them. This is indicating that he is trying to hook up with these girls because he feels like his friends expect him too. Yunior does this because he sees other boys doing these things, and he wants to be like them. He wants to be the same and be accepted, and that s why he treats these different people in different ways. The main character also treats girls of different races differently. He wrongly suggests that if a girl is white, that you will definitely get a hand job before the night is through, if not more (Diaz 235). He says that white girls are the girls everyone really wants to date, because they are easy. This is why he does many things that white boys do. He also says that not many white girls live in his neighborhood, that the locals tend to be brown girls, black girls, or halfies. This is probably because many of the white people are of a higher economic class then he is. If they are in a higher economic class then he is, this may

Even with the help of organization such as World Health Organization, providing medical necessities remains a concerning problem. Healthcare providers must be able to subdue all of these hurdles to be able to provide adequate service to their rural patients. 2 Definition It has been a problem to discuss the medical needs of rural areas simply because there are many areas that fall under the rural category. The term rural is considered very vague: a sparsely populated non urban region. This means that the term rural can be branded to areas ranging from semi developed areas such as Lanai, to the almost isolated villages of Yendi. Rural populations differentiate from one another depending on the region they reside in. However, these regions have some things in common such as non condensed population. Although the amount of inhabitants varies from area to area, most rural areas share a constant. The population density of almost all rural areas is low. Yendi, for example has a population 52,000 condensed in a area of 4,087.2 square kilometers. Burley, Idaho, another rural area is slightly more condensed with a population of 10,456 residing in 16 square kilometers. When compared to the 12,150,996 inhabitants living within the 4,496 square kilometers of the urbanized Los

It is reported that up to 40% of adults use at least one over the counter dietary supplement daily and most of these people do not ask or inform their doctors about taking these supplements. Herbal and nonherbal health supplements are popular because some people believe it is easier to take these than to buy and prepare healthy meals, especially when they are busy with work or if quality foods are not easily available. To others, taking specific food supplements is a means to increase immunity to certain diseases, support bodybuilding, or achieve weight loss. Some health care providers recommend taking dietary supplements to replace nutritional deficiencies but most experts advise consuming a healthy, balance diet that provides most of the nutrients one needs to maintain health. Supplements that can Damage the Liver Studies show that certain dietary supplements, especially vitamins, minerals and antioxidants have many health benefits, which includes prevention of cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. However, experts warn that some herbal and dietary supplements have side effects, especially when taken in large doses or if they are taken for long periods. Research shows that almost 20% of all liver injuries recorded from 2003 2011 are associated with chronic intake of certain herbal and dietary supplements. The worst offenders are bodybuilding supplements, which was linked to 34%, and

Romanticism In Coleridge s The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner Coleridge had been a neighbor, friend and collaborator of Wordsworth and their partnership remained fruitful for the growth of English literature. Their publication of Preface to Lyrical Ballads heralded the birth of Romanticism. Coleridge along with Wordsworth, librated 18th century s poetry from the strict shackles and put along the road to new freedom and achievement. Compared to Wordsworth, Coleridge was subtle and comprehensive, more gifted with poetic sensibilities, but he was indolent and dreamy and liked to lay on the floating lotus like Lord Vishnu and wake up a while only to sleep again for ages. Coleridge s The Rime of The Ancient Marinerhas been founded on a dream of his friend Cruickshank, who fancied, he has been a skeleton ship with figures in it. It was Wordsworth, who suggested Coleridge the killing of the Albatross, the revenge of spirits and the stillness of the ship and consequently his sailors dying of thirst. Coleridge blended natural with supernaturaland gave a romantic touch to his poetry. What is the supernatural? Through the ages this phenomenon cannot be explained by the known laws of nature. Consequences Of Teen Dating Violence In my last paper I touched base on some of the consequences for Teen Dating Violence (TDV) but closely focused on the victims and much less on the actual abuser. In today s paper I would like to focus more on the aspects of the law side of TDV. What happens to the abusers after it is all said and done. Teen Dating Violence occurs almost as Domestic Violence, the only difference is the term and the age group that it affects solely. As a teenager 13 18 or a middle school child 13 and younger, they are sometimes oblivious to the red flags (warning signs) of dating violence, or even that they themselves may be abusing their boyfriends or girlfriends and have no idea it is happening. Today I will discuss the after effects of TFV after the abuse is already dealt. First let s talk about the physical consequences a teen or middle school child could suffer from after abuser as the victim as well as the abuser. Physical abuser may result in minor injuries all the way up to severe injuries or even de3ath in some cases. Statistics say that nearly 1 in 4 teens in the United States may be victims of severe domestic violence and their offenders most all of the time end up being repeat abusers on into their adult ages. Although it is rare, in some cases of physical violence it can affect the internal system as well such as, affecting your immune systems, affecting the heart causing cardiovascular disease, the intestines from severe threat of knife wounds, being kicked in the stomach both

Nonetheless, Thomas tackles such difficulties and breaks it down in his own style with help from others who have embarked on the same treacherous journey. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The objector suggests that the law itself directs man in his actions, which to the objector, seems to be concerned only with particular matters. It is then concluded that the law is directed to some particular good, not the common good. Following that argument, I would explain to the objector that particular goods are involved in striving toward a larger goal. For instance, if my goal is to eat food, I may occupy myself with the particular medium of cooking for myself, venturing to a restaurant, mooching off of my friend, or whatever else seems to fit the mood at that moment. Just because the end goal is concerned with a particular doesn t mean the subject s mindset is contained to those individual particulars. Particulars in every circumstance do in fact strive for an end of some sort. To break this down further, let us take for example the basic law to not kill. In the United States, the law is that people drive on the right side of the road. In other countries, it may be on the left side. This specific law is aimed at the end of not killing, which in turn promotes human flourishing. Thus, we can conclude that rules for driving on the opposite sides of the road is aimed at the end of a common good. The objector is saying that laws are concerned only with a particular matter or a particular good. Following that logic

Those modalities are: ethnocentrism, polycentrism, geo centrism, and region centrism. This Model shows how every multinational company can develop and implement human resources strategies and policies at a level of daughter companies in a host country. Besides the Perlmutter Model is a comparative management model since it helps to identify the differences and resemblance, advantages and disadvantages between the four (4) approaches a company can use to manage its human resources activities at an international level. b.The Adler Ghadar Model For Adler N.J and Ghadar F., when multinational companies develop their activities at an international level they have to concentrate their effort on many aspects of organizational development. I m going to go into depth on two of his concepts as they are very fitting with Tolkien s work and background. However there is the possibility that more than these two possibly even all of Freud s concepts can be applied to Tolkien. The first concept being that of The unconscious mind , in which Freud believes our mind has three parts. The first level is consciousness which consists of thoughts that are the currently occupying our mind. This is a very basic concept it s essentially saying what you are currently thinking or in this case reading is your conscious mind at work. The second level is the preconscious level, another simple concept as it is simply your memory. What you did this morning, what you had for breakfast these are all examples of the preconscious mind. The third level and the one we will be addressing is that of the

Simply stated, the Board s mission is to prevent accidents and save lives in transportation. And although the NTSB s mission is primarily a proactive one the prevention of transportation accidents the agency accomplishes this mission by being reactive in responding to catastrophic events. Board Membership The Board consists of five Members appointed by the President with the consent of the Senate ( Code of Federal Regulations Part 800 ). This allows the agency much more latitude when investigating accidents and making recommendations. I believe the improvement of my students is attributed to the improvement of my skills in the above mentioned areas of classroom management. Even though improvement has been made, there is still more work to be done. Two areas that need improvement deal with peer mediation techniques and forming successful partnerships with parents. The first seldom happens and the latter happens with less frequency I had hoped for in finding support for student learning and behavior. One example where peer mediation would be effective is conflict between students arising from something done or said to them. For instance, a child approached me to say someone hit them when in fact the other child was trying to remove a bug off the accusers back. This misunderstanding or miscommunication consumes time away from instruction and does not empower children to solve conflicts correctly on their own. Another area I want to focus on is establishing more partnerships with parents. Even though I did establish a handful of partnerships by e mailing parents activity pictures of their child throughout the year, I feel much more can be accomplished. The quality of such a relationship as reported by Gurland and Evangelista (2015) predicts the outcome of future achievements. Thus, the following are SMART goals created to strengthen the areas pertaining to peer mediation and parent relationships. By September 5, 2016,

With the increasing world trade volume and gradually intensifying rivalry, companies efforts for strengthening their market shares are increasing day by day. The Graduate, directed by Mike Nichols in 1967 is an influential satire /comedy film about a recent East Coast college graduated who finds himself alienated and aimless in the changing, social and sexual general public of the 1960s, and questioning the values of society. The theme of the film is of an innocent and confused youth who is exploited, mis directed, seduced (literally and figuratively) and betrayed by a corrupt, self indulgent, and discredited older generation (that finds stability in plastics ) that I found to be quite clear and understanding, while also capturing the real spirit of the times and allows America s youth to perceive onscreen ... • 32. The Pros And Cons Of The World Cup Is it a good idea for Fifa to change the amount of nations that qualify to the World Cup from 32 to 48? Fifa has decided to expand the amount of nations that make the WC starting in the 2026 World cup that will be hosted either in Canada, USA, or Mexico. This is going to have its pros and cons but mainly it will be very more exciting and it will show more signs of progressing, starting off with the fact that economically wise it will be a huge plus, it will bring more passion to the game that is loved by millions worldwide, and last it will make the competition longer than it is with 32 nations. The way qualification works with 32 nations is very simple, In Europe for example, each group has 6 countries from Europe, one group for instance being Netherlands, France, Sweden, Bulgaria, Belarus, and Luxembourg. There are a total of 9 groups and basically you play every opponent in your group 2 times home and away in a span of 3 years. at the end of the 3 years the top 2 nations from each group go straight to the world, the 3rd place one has to play a two leg play off game against another country that also ends in 3rd, the winner of that goes to the world cup. Millions of Jews were murdered by people enthralled by the propaganda of Hitler and the Nazi Party. The main question however is how ordinary people were convinced to take part in horrible acts. Many explanations exist to answer this question. Author William Golding suggested that all humans have the capability to be Nazis. One can certainly believe this statement after acknowledging the horrific acts of the common German during the Holocaust. I agree that every human has the capability to commit unspeakable acts of horror under the right conditions. Theo Bailey author of the piece, Understanding the German People s Participation in the Third Reich,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (n. pag.) I agree with Theo Bailey s conclusion that the German people were brainwashed to believe that Jews were evil and inferior. German people believed in the Nazi propaganda that created fear and resentment. In this case Germans felt threatened by the Jews and lost their moral values. I believe that humans will act in violence when they feel threatened or believe that their violence is justified by a grater good. In his article titled Ordinary Germans and the Holocaust, Daniel J. Goldhagen argues that the reason why ordinary Germans participated in the mass murder of of the Jewish people was to obey orders and fearing for their own lives if they did not participate. I believe that ordinary people can commit acts that may go against their moral belief if their own life is at risk. Goldhagen further argues that the ordinary German was coerced into participation by the social pressures they experienced. This element is similar to the peer pressure we all experience in wanting to be part of a group. Goldhagen stated, It is, so goes the argument, extremely difficult for individuals to resist pressures to conform, pressures which can lead individuals to participate in acts which they on their own would not do, indeed would abhor. These variations mainly dealt with issues such as declaratory acts, rights, the proclamation and taxation, sugar act and the intolerable acts. The British took over France s colonies in North America after the War between the French and India. Britain wanted its colonies to realize that it was in charge. Consequently, they made an effort to control the economic and political affairs in their colonies. American colonies dissented this British strategy since they were not content being under British rule. The British used their superiority to enact laws in the parliament. Unfortunately, Americans did not hold any representative seats in parliament. Undoubtedly, Americans felt that the British were infringing on their rights, which sparked a revolution. Mr. Johnson supposedly choked the victim with a leather strap and subsequently sexually assaulted her. When testifying, the woman only had one adjective to describe the perpetrator, a word that damned the twenty six year old to a guilty verdict; black. Although he had never been in possession of a leather strap, had a sound alibi verified by countless testimonies, and the rape victim never definitively identified Mr. Johnson during the trial, the all white jury came to the conclusion that the African American man was undeniably responsible for the cold blooded atrocity. A day later, while sitting in his cell, a mob of white men dragged Ed Johnson out of the jailhouse, paraded him around the streets, and ultimately hanged the guiltless man at Walnut Street Bridge. The men then began to fire round after round at his lifeless body for the amusement of townsfolk who had gathered to watch the lynching, until, one stray bullet severed the rope, (Yellin 1). As the bloody corpse fell to the ground to the delight of the white children, one of the men put the barrel of his gun to Mr. Johnson s head and fired five times, (Yellin 1). Zeitoun would not let her turn around. He would say that they had come to far to turn back. This could allude to the abuse he put Kathy under. The rock could be the goal, and Zeitoun would want to stay together and prove that they had a strong marriage and a strong will to grow together. Kathy turning around could act like her wanting to give up everything they went through and for the both of them to start off brand new; but Zeitoun won. They walked to the rock, but even though Kathy kept up the strong act for a while, it did not last. Eggers also showed he was stubborn and that he put a lot of effort into his work.
