Parody makesfun of an original piece of work and proposesit in a
humorousway. It is basically making light of famous filmsand
portrayingtheir genre in a high self-conscious way as well.
The subgenre of parody is, self parody this is where artists usetheir
own work for parody material. An exampleof this would be, Ricky
GervaisdoingShrek.

Here is a notable piece of parody; on the left we have a scene from
Jurassicpark wherea T-Rex is chasing a group in a car. Then on the
right we have a scene from Toy Story 2, which is parody of the
Jurassicpark scene.
Origins of parody:
Parody originated in ancient Greece, it first started by imitating first
Hegemon of Thasos wasthe first recorded person to makea parody
styled work, by altering the wordingin well-known poems, he made
the authentic work, in to ridiculous and entertainingwork.
The first piece of English parody wasby Ben Johnson in 1598 called
“Every Man in His Humour”. Back then parody described something,
which wasvery absurd. Another English author called John Dryden,
expanded on Johnson’sversion and talks about how authorsturn an
original piece into something of their own. Dryden had hisown
definition of parody and satirical work, which was, “turned into
another sence than their author intended.” In the 17th and 18th
century Dryden continued hiswork and created several parodies
which emphasised his definition of parody.

surround usfrom everywherein society, even in moviesand TV now,
