The CRED DQ Report - Market Delinquency by Property TypeMichael Haas
Top 50 Markets - Watchlist, Delinquency and Special Servicing stats broken out by property type. Hotel and Retail property types remain heavily distressed.
Overall delinquency continued its decline for the eighth consecutive reporting period following its rapid ascent from April to June2020. Although there has been a favorable trend, defaults on CRE mortgages remain at an elevated level across the United States, driven primarily by the retail and lodging sectors. We expect delinquency to remain elevated for 2021, however as COVID 19 vaccination efforts continue to ramp up, we anticipate more immediate and significant improvements to the hotel default rate throughout the year. CRED iQ monitors market performance for nearly 400 MSAs across the United States. Below is a summary of the default rates for the 50 largest metros segmented by property type. Consistent with the months following the start of the pandemic, the hotel and retail sectors remain the largest contributors to the delinquency percentages for the majority of these statistical areas. Loans backed by self-storage, multifamily, and industrial facilities posted the lowest delinquency rates for most of these markets.

Forensic accountants are frequently called upon to navigate complex asset divorces and identify fascinating positions. Common issues include proposing an asset division and justifying long-term alimony, verifying separate property appreciation, and valuing pension interests. Unusual issues include identifying control spouse fraud, determining if a spouse actually owns a business interest after estate plan gifting, quantifying alimony from an escalation clause in a prenuptial agreement and valuing a “wrongful birth” claim in a paternity fraud case.

Let’s compare! Practical perspectives on the use of an international comparat...CesToronto
Used appropriately and carefully, international comparisons (reviews, case studies, etc.) can inform the design of your evaluation or performance measurement study, engage a broad range of stakeholders, and greatly add value to your findings and recommendations.
Drawing on experience with several such approaches in evaluations covering public safety, health surveillance, environmental assessment, and technology development, this presentation will discuss the rationale and key practical considerations to ensure the successful implementation of an international comparative design.
Specifically, the presentation will review when to use these methods (advantages/disadvantages), and provide concrete tools and tips to overcome common challenges. It will also discuss how to facilitate engagement and collaboration for both the subject matter community and the evaluation and performance management community, within Canada and across borders.
Immigrants and their native-born children account for 1 in 5 of the population in OECD countries. The recent joint OECD-EU publication „Settling In“ provides the most comprehensive overview of their integration outcomes ever undertaken and covers all major domains (labour market, education, social inclusion). The presentation summarises the key findings and concludes with good practices and policy recommendations to better use the skills of immigrants and children, with a special focus on the integration of refugees.
“Whether we’re talking about existing homeowners or people looking to purchase for the first time, there is no shortage of buyers in the marketplace today. So, while the record number of home sales through the first five months of 2016 is not necessarily
surprising, it does sometimes mask the larger story in the GTA: the shortage of listings, which has resulted in strong upward pressure on home prices,” said Mr. McLean.
Strong Sales & Price Growth in August
The MLS® Home Price Index (HPI) Composite Benchmark for August 2016 was up by 17.2 per cent on a year-over-year basis. Similarly, the average selling price for all home types combined
was up by 17.7 per cent on an annual basis to $710,410. Both the MLS® HPI benchmarks and average prices for low-rise home types were up by double digits percentage-wise.
“It is clear that many GTA households remain upbeat about home ownership because owning a home represents a high quality, long-term investment. We will see a big, new record this year for home sales reported through TREB’s MLS® System,” said Mr. McLean.
This is great news for everyone indeed. A healthy market is beneficial for the greater economy and to every single client we deal with.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
