This document summarizes a research paper that proposes a new method called SeDDaRA (Self-deconvolving Data Reconstruction Algorithm) to improve solar imaging using shift-and-add (SAA) techniques. SeDDaRA first applies self-deconvolution to enhance high-frequency components in speckle images. It then uses SAA, choosing the reference frame based on the image with the highest root-mean-square contrast (RMSC). Finally, a second SAA is performed using the first result as the reference frame, producing the final high-resolution image. Figures in the document show example input/output images from this new two-step SAA process with self-deconvolution.
The document proposes using TerraSAR-X radar imagery to calibrate the geo-location accuracy of optical satellite sensors. It presents an automatic workflow to register optical orthoimages to TerraSAR-X references using bilateral filtering and mutual information matching. Initial displacements of 20-40m in optical data were reduced to below 5m, verifying TerraSAR-X provides an accurate reference for calibration.
This document discusses simulating an optical survey to estimate its potential constraining power on cosmological parameters. It describes using CosmoMC and Cosmosurvey software to interface optical richness data, running simulations on high-performance computing systems, and analyzing the results to determine if an optical full-sky survey would provide sufficient constraints to justify its costs. Current work involves testing preliminary interfaces and extending Cosmosurvey capabilities.
Comparing noisy patches for image denoising a double noise similarity modelI3E Technologies
This paper presents a new noise similarity (NS) concept that can refine comparisons of noisy patches and enhance the power of nonlocal means (NLM) filters for image denoising. The NS concept accounts for both the underlying signal and noise when comparing patches. Based on NS, the paper derives a double NS (DNS) model that frames denoising as reducing two types of noise: additive noise and deviation error noise from differences in similar pixel intensities. An iterative NLM filter is proposed using DNS to collaboratively suppress noise and restore image details. Experimental results show this approach provides competitive performance against other state-of-the-art NLM filters.

LASSO MODELING AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO PCA BASED MULTIVARIATE MODELS TO SYSTEM W...mathsjournal
The document summarizes a study that compares the LASSO modeling method to traditional PCA-based multivariate modeling methods (PCR and PLSR) for building calibration models to predict biodiesel quality using near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy data. The LASSO method was able to better handle the heavy sparsity present in the NIR spectral data matrix. Models were built using each method to predict the percentage of animal fat biodiesel in diesel B20 fuel blends using a dataset of 100 NIR spectra. The LASSO method was shown to shrink some coefficient values exactly to zero, providing variable selection, and its performance was statistically comparable or better than PCR and PLSR for this application.
Iaetsd power capture safe test pattern determinationIaetsd Iaetsd
The document proposes a method to determine power-safe test patterns for at-speed scan-based testing to address excessive capture power issues. It involves two main processes: 1) test pattern refinement process which refines existing power-safe patterns to detect faults detected by power-risky patterns while satisfying power constraints, and 2) low-power test pattern regeneration process which generates new power-safe patterns if faults remain undetected after refinement. Experimental results show the method can detect over 75% of power-risky faults through refinement with up to 12.76% reduction in test data volume without loss of fault coverage.
Probability Measurement of Setup And Hold Time With Statistical Static Timing...IJERA Editor
This document summarizes a methodology for performing statistical static timing analysis (SSTA) that accounts for the statistical codependence of setup and hold times. It presents a 3-step approach: 1) approximating probability mass functions (pmf) of codependent setup and hold time contours considering variability, 2) computing pmfs of required setup and hold times for each flip-flop, and 3) using these pmfs to compute probabilities of timing constraint violations. The method was applied to true single phase clocking flip-flops to generate piecewise linear characterization curves. An example design was used to demonstrate successful statistical timing verification that considers variability impacts.

In the past decade, seismic tomography techniques have improved through more sophisticated methodologies and technologies. An important issue is the accuracy and density of residual move-out (RMO) picks used to derive tomographic velocity model updates. A new automated method allows for precise tracking of RMO on pre-stack depth-migrated gathers, enabling fast determination of dense, high-quality travel time residuals for seismic tomography. This leads to better resolution of small-scale anomalies and flatter pre-stack depth-migrated gathers, providing better-focused structural images.

AN EFFICIENT SEGMENTED RANDOM ACCESS SCANARCHITECTURE WITH TEST COMPRESSIONVLSICS Design
Integrated circuit (IC) chip designs relying on Random Access Scan (RAS) architecture for post-production
structural tests typically provide lower test power dissipation, test data volume, and test application time
comparedto the classical serial scan-based Design for Test (DFT) methodology. However, previous RAS
schemes incur high signal routing and test area overheads relative to the serial scan way. Unlike serial
scan schemes, previous RAS schemes have not been effectively combined with test compression to further
reduce test application time and test data volume. Authors have already formally documented a locally
addressed (segmented) and compressed Segmented RAS (SRAS) architecture with low area overhead and
test application time. This paper describes the SRAS architecture in more detail and provides comparative
experimental results. Area overhead is reduced using test access hierarchy (segmented), while adding
compression to RAS lowers the test application time.
Also presented is another enhancement to incorporate a scan channel multiplex block at hierarchy
segments which helps drastically decrease the area and routing overhead of the original architecture to
practically implementable levels on commercial circuits. The extra Segment Data Multiplexor (SDM) blocks
reduce the area overhead of othercomponents by the multiplexing factor, and the reduction in overall area
is significant based on experimental data.
Test data compression and auto addressing of segments are achieved by transmitting a seed address to
select segments with auto-increment or auto-decrement capability followed by either single cell selection or
entire leaf cellsegment selection. To further reduce the area overhead and test power, this architecture is
enhanced to contain multiple channels at a cost of increased overall test application time with no increase
in test data volume. Results ofapplying the enhancements to a large circuit with one level of intermediate
segments with each of them having 256 leaf segments are presented in the paper with and without multichannel multiplexing for comparison.

The implementation of the improved omp for aic reconstruction based on parall...Nxfee Innovation
This document presents a hardware implementation of an improved orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) algorithm for signal reconstruction in analog-to-information converters based on compressive sensing. The proposed architecture reduces computational complexity and the number of iterations compared to the original OMP algorithm. It achieves a higher recovery signal-to-noise ratio of 31.04 dB. The design includes parallel complex multiplication, matrix inversion using the Goldschmidt algorithm, and signal estimation units. Implementation on a Xilinx Virtex6 FPGA shows the architecture uses a few percentage of resources at 135.4 MHz with a reconstruction time of 170 μs, faster than existing designs.
Reconstruction of Pet Image Based On Kernelized Expectation-Maximization MethodIRJET Journal
1) The document presents a kernelized expectation-maximization method for reconstructing PET images from low count data.
2) The proposed method models noise in the projection domain using a kernel method, rather than the image domain, allowing it to better handle noise when count levels are low.
3) The kernelized EM method has similar simplicity to conventional EM reconstruction but is expected to provide better performance for low-count data by incorporating spatial information from prior images during reconstruction.

Clock Gating Cells for Low Power Scan Testing By Dft TechniqueIJERA Editor
This document summarizes research on reducing power consumption during scan testing of integrated circuits. It discusses using design-for-test (DFT) techniques like clock gating cells to minimize unnecessary clock toggling during scan testing. By identifying unused clock signals through scan-based testing, clock gating cells can be inserted to temporarily avoid those clock signals, reducing heat and power problems. The document also explores modifying test patterns to reduce switching activity during scan shifting and capture to further lower power consumption.
The document discusses applying compressed sampling (CS) techniques for spectrum sensing and channel estimation in cognitive radio (CR) networks. It first provides background on CS theory, noting that signals can be reconstructed from fewer samples than required by Nyquist's theorem if the signal is sparse. It then proposes a compressed spectrum sensing scheme to detect wideband spectrum using sub-Nyquist sampling. After sensing, it formalizes the notion of sparse multipath channels and discusses estimating such channels using orthogonal matching pursuit. The effectiveness of these CS-based approaches is demonstrated through comparisons with conventional sensing and estimation methods.

Combining ordered subsets and momentum for accelerated x ray ct image reconstruction
1. COMBINING ORDERED SUBSETS AND MOMENTUM FOR ACCELERATED X-RAY
CT IMAGE RECONSTRUCTION
ABSTRACT
Statistical X-ray computed tomography (CT) reconstructioncan improve image quality
from reduced dose scans, but requires very long computation time. Ordered subsets (OS)methods
have been widely used for research in X-ray CT statisticalimage reconstruction (and are used in
clinical PET and SPECTreconstruction). In particular, OS methods based on separablequadratic
surrogates (OS-SQS) are massively parallelizable andare well suited tomodern computing
architectures, but the numberof iterations required for convergence should be reduced for
betterpractical use. This paper introduces OS-SQS-momentum algorithms that combine
Nesterov’s momentum techniques with OS-SQS methods, greatly improving convergence speed
in earlyiterations. If the number of subsets is too large, the OS-SQS-momentummethods can be
unstable, so we propose diminishing stepsizes that stabilize the method while preserving the very
fast convergencebehavior. Experiments with simulated and real 3D CTscan data illustrate the
performance of the proposed algorithms.
