This document discusses intelligent leak detection for HFC cooling installations. It notes that leakage of HFC refrigerants accounts for 10% of the company's CO2 emissions. It describes how the company installed level transmitters in receivers to monitor fluctuations and detect leaks, which allows them to discover leaks much faster and avoid more refrigerant from leaking. One year after deploying this system across 58 installations, it helped avoid 2,800 tons of CO2 emissions, reducing the company's total emissions by 2.5%.
