BULLION TRADING
The Global market is the largest financial market in
the world, with a daily average turnover of over US$ 4 trillion,
30 times larger than the combined volume of all U.S. equity
markets. It is a true 24 hours market and moves around the
globe as the business day begins in each financial centre.
M A R K E T - ROLLING
CONTRACT
The “Rolling Contract” is the dream of every Trader. An
opportunity to profit from a 2-way market without a contract
expiry date offers great flexibility.
Commodities like Gold, silver, platinum and US stock
indices are International Investment Instruments. The high
leverage and liquidity is the main attraction of this Global
instrument.
24 HOURS MARKET
R E W A R D S A N D R I S K S
Bullion trading is a challenging and potentially profitable opportunity for educated and experienced traders.
As an investor you may lower your exposure to risks by employing risk-reducing strategies such as "stop-loss“ or "limit“ orders
and make huge profits.
In this market risks are involved, but the rewards can be greater. This market is different from other markets. The speed and
huge size of the market means it changes continually. Trading unlike other markets in the financial world, cannot be unduly
influenced by any one entity, and thus is not controlled by any single or group of entities.

UNDERSTANDING LEVERAGE
 Leverage is the use of various financial instruments
to increase the potential return of an investment.
 Leverage magnifies both gains and losses.
 Investor’s US$ 1000 per lot is leveraged and traded
as a US$ 100,000 per lot on the exchange.
 Thus as one dollar change in price translates to US$
100(gain or loss) for the investor (ie 0.0001x100,000)
 Leverage is a double edged sword, can deliver
higher returns and also carries a higher risk.
Factors influencing commodities
Fundamental or Technical
The two basic approaches to analyzing this Global market are Fundamental
Analysis and Technical Analysis. The fundamental analyst concentrates on the
underlying causes of price movements, while the technical analyst studies the
price movements themselves.
Fundamental Analysis
– Economic (GDP growth, Trade gap, unemployment, interest rates, inflation,
etc)
– Social/Political (pending elections, change in governments, change in
government policies, wars, terrorist attacks etc)
– Geopolitical forces (earth quakes, tsunamis, floods, draught, failure of
monsoons etc)
These drive supply and demand.
Be aware when announcement are due. Sometimes the expert are wrong and
get caught by unpredictable actions.
The Three Essential Principles
• Market action discounts everything
– The actual price is a reflection of everything that is known to the market that could affect it,
for example, supply and demand, political factors and market sentiment. The pure technical
analyst is only concerned with price movements, not with the reasons for any changes.
• Prices move in trends
– Technical analysis identifies patterns of market behavior that have long been recognized as
significant. For many given patterns there is a high probability that they will produce the
expected results. There are recognized patterns that repeat themselves on a consistent
basis .
• History repeats itself
– Forex chart patterns have been recognized and categorized for years and the manner in
which many patterns are repeated leads to the conclusion that human psychology changes
little over time.
The Five Categories
• Indicators
– Oscillators, e.g.: Relative Strength Index
• Number theory
– Fibonacci numbers
• Waves
– Elliott wave theory
• Gaps
– high-low, open-closing
• Trends
– following moving average

Regulations related to Forex trading in India
• Resident Indians can trade in commodities through various Indian financial institutions
today
• However, currently the resident Indians cannot trade in currency pairs not involving the
Indian Rupee, (like the USD/GBP) with any scheduled bank or such other agency falling
under the regulatory purview of the Reserve Bank of India
• Therefore to trade in such currency pairs, one will have to transact Foreign Exchange
trades outside India.
Liberalized Remittance Scheme
• RBI, through the provisions under A.P.(Dir Series)Circular No.64 dated Feb 4,2004,
Circular No.24 dated Dec 20,2006, Circular No.51 dated May 8,2007, Circular No.9
dated Sept 26,2007 and Circular No.05 /2009-10 dated July 1, 2009 granted
permission to Resident Individuals to freely remit up to USD 250,000 per calendar year
for acquiring and hold immovable property, to invest in stocks, shares, exchange traded
funds, debt instruments, stock options and index options outside India without prior
approval of the Reserve Bank of India.
• Individuals can also open, maintain and hold commodities accounts with a bank outside
India for making remittances under the Scheme without prior approval of the Reserve
Bank.
How do I know that my money is safe?
• Client’s money are placed in Segregated Account of Government
banks appointed by BAPPEBTI.
• A segregated account is a joint account between the broker (HIF)
and the Exchange (JFX)
• The broker (HIF) is only allowed to access the account once a
month to collect their brokerage (after the quantum has been verified
and sanctioned by BAPPEBTI)
• If the broker (HIF) decides to close operations– what happens to my
money?
– your money is safe and you can either close account and
repatriate the money back to India or start trading with any other
broker as may be recommended by BAPPEBTI or any other
broker of your choice.

  • 12. R E W A R D S A N D R I S K S Bullion trading is a challenging and potentially profitable opportunity for educated and experienced traders. As an investor you may lower your exposure to risks by employing risk-reducing strategies such as "stop-loss“ or "limit“ orders and make huge profits. In this market risks are involved, but the rewards can be greater. This market is different from other markets. The speed and huge size of the market means it changes continually. Trading unlike other markets in the financial world, cannot be unduly influenced by any one entity, and thus is not controlled by any single or group of entities.

  • 16. UNDERSTANDING LEVERAGE  Leverage is the use of various financial instruments to increase the potential return of an investment.  Leverage magnifies both gains and losses.  Investor’s US$ 1000 per lot is leveraged and traded as a US$ 100,000 per lot on the exchange.  Thus as one dollar change in price translates to US$ 100(gain or loss) for the investor (ie 0.0001x100,000)  Leverage is a double edged sword, can deliver higher returns and also carries a higher risk.
  • 17. Factors influencing commodities Fundamental or Technical The two basic approaches to analyzing this Global market are Fundamental Analysis and Technical Analysis. The fundamental analyst concentrates on the underlying causes of price movements, while the technical analyst studies the price movements themselves. Fundamental Analysis – Economic (GDP growth, Trade gap, unemployment, interest rates, inflation, etc) – Social/Political (pending elections, change in governments, change in government policies, wars, terrorist attacks etc) – Geopolitical forces (earth quakes, tsunamis, floods, draught, failure of monsoons etc) These drive supply and demand. Be aware when announcement are due. Sometimes the expert are wrong and get caught by unpredictable actions.
  • 18. The Three Essential Principles • Market action discounts everything – The actual price is a reflection of everything that is known to the market that could affect it, for example, supply and demand, political factors and market sentiment. The pure technical analyst is only concerned with price movements, not with the reasons for any changes. • Prices move in trends – Technical analysis identifies patterns of market behavior that have long been recognized as significant. For many given patterns there is a high probability that they will produce the expected results. There are recognized patterns that repeat themselves on a consistent basis . • History repeats itself – Forex chart patterns have been recognized and categorized for years and the manner in which many patterns are repeated leads to the conclusion that human psychology changes little over time.
