Global warming is caused by human activities like burning fossil fuels and deforestation that increase greenhouse gases in the atmosphere like carbon dioxide and methane. This traps heat from the sun and causes the planet to warm up. As the planet warms, sea levels rise and extreme weather increases, threatening animal species and ecosystems. The rising human population contributes further by requiring more resources that damage the environment. Urgent action is needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and transition to more sustainable practices to prevent worsening global warming.

3. Global warming is now one of the greatest challenges facing our planet. It is defined as an
increase in the average of the earth atmosphere. This is a serious issue. ”We are standing at the
edge of a cliff” (Richard, 2009) .People should realize before it’s become worse. Besides, there
are a lot of reasons which cause global warming.
“Most climate scientists agree that the main cause of the current global warming trend is human
expansion of the ‘greenhouse effect’” (Oreskes, 2004). The emission of Carbon dioxide (CO2) by
polluted air over many years had cause the atmosphere to become thin. Thus, the atmosphere
can’t radiate back some CO2 back to the sun and the earth absorbs the heat directly. By absorbing
a heat directly, the whole earth temperature rises and cause global warming. With the rise in
temperature, our ecosystem is affected drastically, from melting polar ice caps to an increase in
storms. On the other hand, there are some gases which also cause greenhouse effect is: “Water
Vapor, Methane, Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), Nitrous oxide” (unknow, nd).
Global warming is a phenomenon and a hot debate for the past two decades. Former president
Al Gore had made a movie called “An Inconvenient Truth” to address this problem. However,
there are many people still believe the idea of global warming is cause by themselves. Human
activities are changing the natural greenhouse. Over the last century, the burning of fossil fuels
such as coal, oil has increased the concentration of atmosphere carbon dioxide (CO2). “Since the
Industrial Revolution, the burning of coal, oil and natural gas has emitted roughly 500 billion
tons of CO2” (unknow, nd). In addition, there are a lot of human activities which cause air
pollution such as war, destroying the forests and traffics.
4. Another major man-made cause of Global Warming is population. World population is strongly
increases year by year. According to the unfoa.org, “the current world population of 7.2 billion is
projected to increase by 1 billion over the next 12 years and reach 9.6 billion by 2050” (unknow,
nd). More people mean more food, more methods of transportation and more natural
destructions.
Global warming causes a lot of effects not only with the environment but also with human and
creatures all around the world.
As a result of the temperature increase, not only the polar bears in the North Pole but also the
penguins in the Southern Pole are becoming extinct because the ices are melting very quickly.
Researcher Bill Fraser has tracked “the decline of the Adelie penguins on Antarctica, where their
numbers have fallen from 32,000 breeding pairs to 11,000 in 30 years” (IPCC, 2007). In
addition, Al Gore also stated as the temperature of Earth rises, mosquitoes will have more
chances to breed and thrive. Mosquitoes love the humidity and survive at a hotter temperature.
Mosquitoes can carry diseases such as West Nile and their only purpose is to spread disease. By
allowing mosquitoes to have a longer breeding season, more people will get sick.
Increased temperature affect not only to animals but also affect to the natural. “Ice is melting
worldwide, especially at the Earth’s poles. This includes mountain glaciers, ice sheets covering
West Antarctica and Greenland, and Arctic sea ice” (IPCC, 2007). Because of the global
warming, hurricanes and other storms are likely to become stronger. Flood and droughts will
become more common. If global warming is not reduced, people will face with a lot of natural
disasters in one day.
5. In conclusion, Global Warming is a serious problem that it would reduce if people started from
now. Being conscious about what is happening in the world and the consequences of our actions.
We cannot wait for government to find a solution for this problems, each person can bring
important help by adopting a responsible life style, starting from little daily things. Save this
world because that’s all we got.
