This level of participation and sharing has the potential to greatly impact the shape of the internet. However, some argue that user-generated sites like Wikipedia are not always reliable due to occasional false information or "vandalism" by volunteer editors. As collective intelligence grows, it could radically change the world for better or worse before its full implications are understood.
