Teachers are expected to maintain strictly professional relationships with students and colleagues. Information about students is confidential and should not be shared unprofessionally. Initially, disputes between teachers should be resolved between parties, but unresolved issues are referred to administration, whose decisions must be respected. As foreign experts, teachers are expected to respect the authority of AKD's Board of Directors and local laws in China. Security and living arrangements may be subject to review. While small gifts are acceptable, valuable gifts or those given in certain contexts are not. Private tutoring for payment requires administrative approval. Teachers are also expected to dress, speak, and conduct themselves professionally.
