Welcome to the training module on CN Series Solid State Relay .
This training module will introduce CN Series Solid State Relay and DRACN assemblies .
CN series SSRs offer several different input and output configurations for both AC and DC applications. Designed to be socket or PCB mounted, the CN series of SIP type solid state relays offer performance and reliability in the industry standard 5 mm relay package. DRSCN sockets mount on standard 35 mm DIN rail and allow for easy installation and removal of the CN series SSRs and any other control component offered in the 5 mm industry standard package. DRACN Series Assemblies combine CN series SSRs and DRSCN sockets in ready to use SSR assemblies.
CN Series are 5 mm wide AC & DC output SSRs that can be either mounted on a PC board or plugged into a DRSCN DIN rail mountable socket. CN series SSRs offer performance and reliability in the industry standard 5 mm relay package, making them ideal for many control applications historically serviced by less reliable EMRs.
These pluggable and solderable SIP SSRs are able to add control functions to any applications, like Transportation ( Rail, Back Up Power), Industrial Automation, Process Control, Machine Tools (Hydraulic Pumps), Semiconductor Equipment, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning), Food Processing, Compressors, Elevators & Rolling Shutters, Plastics Industry, Lighting, etc.
The 5 mm wide CN series SSRs meet industry standard pin out configurations for both Solid State and Electromechanical relays and are designed to be plugged into Crydom DRSCN series sockets or soldered into printed circuit boards. Featuring all solid state optically coupled designs, CN series models are available with either a 240/2 amp AC output, 24/3.5 amp DC output, or 48/0.1 amp DC output. Available input configurations include 2.5 to 12 VDC, 15 to 30 VDC and 38 to 72 VDC. The CN series are also UL and cUL recognized.
Combining the CN relays and DRSCN sockets, Crydom also offers ready to use SSR/Socket assemblies. The DRA-CN series of assemblies offer all of the features and benefits of both the CN SSRs and DRSCN sockets, but in a ready to use configuration. DRACN Assemblies come from the factory with the SSR matched and installed in the correct socket simplifying both the selection and assembly processes. Specifications for the assemblies precisely match those of the selected companion CN series SSRs.
DRSCN series DIN rail mounted sockets include input status LED indicator and are available for 5 to 12 or 15 to 30 VDC control inputs, and 60 to 120 or 60 to 250 VAC/VDC control inputs. The 6.2 mm wide DRSCN sockets are designed to accept industry standard 5 mm wide SSRs or EM relays and snaps onto standard 35 mm DIN rail. SSRs are easily plugged into the sockets and removed via a convenient latch mechanism. Available Marker Strips for the sockets are also offered to allow easy circuit function identification for each socket.
Here is the nomenclature of CN series part number. The first part is the series name. The second part is the load voltage. The third part indicates the control voltage range or assembly input voltage for CN series and DRACN series respectively. The last portion is only used in AC output.
Again, the 5 mm wide CN series SSRs meet industry standard pin out. They are pluggable or solderable and can be installed in various sockets and can replace EMRs in many applications. CN SSR specs are somewhat broader than Assembly specs due to socket limitations. 60 VDC input SSRs are used to make 120 & 240 VAC input Assemblies. Marker strips are supplied as 10 strips of 10 per type or 100 pcs total per bag.
