2. Spot Deals Location based instant group purchasing tool. When someone in a group is near a location (restaurant / bar etc ) and the location is underutilized they can send out an offer of a discount or incentive to attract an audience.how it works. The user would install an app on their smartphone and would be able to track their location and they could enter the potential number of people that would be in their crowd. The Vendor could then get a sense of the available crowds and send out an offer to see if their were any interested parties. The product could evolve such that there are frequent users who through their utilization get better offers which may be of interest as people might like to "hang-out" more with someone who has access to the better deals.
3. What-I-Like Every social network has a trending topic. Twitter explicitly outlines topics on the right side of the screen. Other platforms have nothing explicit. Our service will be browse all relevant social platforms to find most relevant and active articles/news/feeds and distribute it to end users based on their profile. We can charge for premium membership (that drives Groupon or Living social offers as well based on personal preferences) and rest is freemium.
4. Leaderboard.com This idea will bring together many of the concepts we have discussed in class regarding the gaming and recognition aspects of social media. The idea is to incorporate gaming into everyday business., leaderboard.com can create measurable objectives for employees throughout an organization. These objectives would be tracked and reported to all through a widget on the company intranet directly from Leaderboard.com. For example, if you are running a warehouse, you can have an objective of stacking say 100 boxes per day. Each employee can be tracked and recorded on leaderboard.com. Then, we can create a cool dashboard that would be hosted on the intranet for all employees to see and measure themselves. It brings gaming and recognition to the work environment as a motivation and assessment tool
6. Golf-Table Create an "Open Table" type application for Golf Course Tee Times. This will alleviate the problem of calling numerous courses to check availability. This should also help with advance bookings for vacations and large groups. A golfer will simply log on, select the course and the desired time. Discounts and other promotions can also be hosted through this site. Need to think about the Network effect
7. Grelp Use the social layer to allow people to connect to discuss/rate/etc. grocery stores. The grocery stores can be Stop & Shop and Roche's but also can be the mom and pop type stores like Lambert's. Through this vehicle (website), folks can rate produce quality and also can find exactly the produce they are looking for locally such as okra or Boar's Head deli meat.
8. What-I-Buy A browser add on that monitors your shopping activity. When you purchase something it automatically updates your facebook / twitter. The announcement has a link with a unique URL that when clicked by a friend indicates that you referred that friend. If the friend purchases you ( and us ) receive a small percentage of the sale.
