The document discusses closing compliance gaps in file exchange. It notes that companies need to ensure they know what sensitive data is sent outside the company, by whom, when, and to whom. It also introduces SEEBURGER's Business Integration Suite as a solution for helping companies close compliance gaps in file exchange. The suite provides managed file transfer, integration platform, and document automation capabilities to help control sensitive data transfers in a compliant manner.
In today's economy there is a driving need to cut costs. Yet the uncertain and changing environment makes business agility more critical than ever. To successfully address both these challenges companies must reduce maintenance costs and lead times for their existing mainframe systems and core application portfolio. They need to find ways to renovate the right pieces of their existing applications. Minimizing risk by retaining the majority of the code, yet reducing maintenance costs and improving agility by modernizing critical components. Service-Oriented Architectures deliver the framework to successfully transform core IT assets, and companies are rightfully embracing the approach. But more is needed.
This presentation covers applying Decision Management, SOA and Business Rules Management Systems to renovate your existing applications. Used together these approaches dramatically reduce maintenance costs and increasing business agility. You will see how to use the techniques and technologies to identify critical components, externalize them and make them easier and cheaper to manage and change. Illustrated with real customer stories, this webinar will show you how to increase agility and reduce costs.
Strong history of delivering complex IT projects on time, within budget/specifications and without compromising performance by employing expertise in business planning, technology right-sizing, IT financial planning and operations management. Proficient in troubleshooting, resource allocation/maximization, change management, continued process improvement and new technology introduction. Experienced in creating scalable technology infrastructures from the ground up and expanding technology capabilities during growth and change. Possess integrated understanding of technical, liability, vulnerability and compliance perspectives related to managing IT security and risk issues; proven ability to apply technology initiatives to broad range of business operations through understanding of how technology solutions drive business results. European Business Rules Conference 2004: The Business Rules Platform and Ente...Dan Selman
Increasingly business rule engines and their associated tools (business rule platforms) are being adopted by Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies. All of these companies have complex enterprise information technology infrastructure, often maintained by hundreds of people. Automating the management and execution of business rules and business policy usually necessitates integration with existing people, processes and enterprise software systems.
This presentation outlines some of the challenges and goals of deeply integrating a business rule platform within an enterprise information technology infrastructure.
Enterprise applications and databases do not just help in running the business - they are your business. And every year, they grow in size and complexity, making them harder to manage. Uncontrolled data growth threatens application performance and service level agreements, increases maintenance costs, and exposes enterprises to legal liability for data privacy and security.

As financial institutions like banks become virtualized more workforce coordination is done remotely. Whether for a remote branch or a distributed marketing team, this means high-speed collaboration and secure sharing among a remote workforce is becoming paramount to the customer experience. As employees inevitably turn to third-party file sharing solutions, e-mail, ftp, etc. to try and solve their needs to collaborate, friction increases along with frustration in the workforce and in the IT organization. Business continuity and high availability requires the bank IT organization to ensure its file transfer infrastructure is designed to meet business security requirements as well.
This is heavily influenced by industry and government regulations and oversight in the wake of 9/11 and the financial crisis of 2008 (SOX, IRS 86-19, EFA, GLB, FFIEC and BASEL II).
A better way to coordinate, collaborate and replicate both internally and externally with partners is needed. A solution that reduces experience angst and friction and scales to file sizes, distances and participants as needed by the organization.
IBM Managed File Transfer Portfolio - IBMImpact 2014Leif Davidsen
The data held in files can represent some of the most valuable assets that a business has. If this data is trapped in a file in a remote system then it loses value. IBM has recently updated its portfolio of Managed File Transfer offerings, simplifying choice for the business user and offering better value for money, while extending the access to this valuable data. Here about different managed file transfer use cases and suggested solutions
Mobile App development has taken the industries by storm as everyone wants to get the best solutions in the fastest and most affordable way. As suggested by Adobe, the segment of business leaders who finds enterprise mobility solutions beneficial for the business stands strong at 77%. Also, with this strong inclination towards tapping the mobile power around 66% of the business owners are looking to increase their investments for mobile app development. It is the time that we look into the specific goals of business owners as well as the needs of the main consumers to anticipate the most valuable trends in mobile space in 2017.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.
