The closing ceremony for a 5-day leadership and management skills training hosted by SRSP and funded by the EU was held at the Swat Regency Hotel. 50 community organization members from Balakot Tehsil attended the training. The ceremony included remarks from SRSP staff, two participants, and the chief guest. Certificates were then awarded to all participants. The chief guest stressed the importance of sustainable development through strong community organizations and proper use of local resources.

1. Closing Ceremony & Certificate Distribution of LMST Swat
At Swat Regency Hotel, Mingora Swat on March 31st

After successful completion of five days residential
trainings on “Leadership Management Skills
Training (LMST)” for men activists from different
community organizations of UC Balakot Tehsil
Behrain District Swat, the closing ceremony was
held, in which apart from Regional HRDO &
Regional MER, the staff from field office Behrain as
well as 50 men activists (training participants)
participated. Mr. Saleem, Divisional Audit Officer,
Ushar/Zakat & Social Welfare Department District
Swat was invited as chief guest.
2. The LMST closing
ceremony was
properly started with
recitation from the
Holy Quran,
performed by one
among the training
participants.
Mr. Bahadur Ali (Regional HRDO, SRSP
Swat) presented warm welcome to the
chief guest and thanked him for his
active and timely participation in the
event. He further highlighted the SRSP
vision, mission and working approach
especially under EU-PEACE Project. He
also briefed the chief guest about five
days residential LMST training in detail.
He further added that we on behalf of
SRSP believe that communities have the
potentials to do a lot and the SRSP is
going to explore these potentials and
also desired that through these capacity
building training activities the
communities would be organized to
sufficient extent.
3. Mr. Pasham Khan one among the training
participants from UC Balakot (President of
Kas Mohalla Tanzeem), while presenting his
remarks as feedback of the LMST five days
residential training, he expressed his
feedback regarding five days LMST, he
added that we have now reached the
conclusion that CO is for CPI, but CPIs are
always for CO. He was also of the opinion
that we would onward focus on
strengthening of community organizations
and would develop strong liaison with other
departments and stakeholders.
Mr. Mana Dar one among the training participants from UC Balakot
(President of Sitara Taraqiati Tanzeem), while giving his feedback regarding
the five days residential training, he added that we had come for this training
to get more and more learning regarding strengthening community based
organizations and development. He also showed entire satisfaction about
training and logistic arrangements. He further added that during off timing
we got an opportunity to get together and discuss training contents, being
taught during the training, which could further lead us towards improving
our capabilities. He also requested for arranging such types of capacity
building trainings in future.
4. The chief guest then awarded
certificates to the training
participants.
The Respected Chief Guest Mr. Saleem (Divisional
Audit Officer from the department of Ushar/Zakat
and Social Welfare Swat) thanked SRSP staff as well
as the entire participants and appreciated the
activities being carried out by SRSP. He further shared
that we should focus on sustainable development
through community organizations. He also stressed
on proper utilization of the locally available
resources, through which they could improve their
COs economically. He also added that development is
a process, which starts slowly and gradually. He also
stressed on promoting and strengthening their local
based community organizations at grass roots level.
In the last he briefed the participants about the
departments of Ushar/Zakat and Social Welfare as
well as zakat disbursement procedures in detail and
told that how to make access to these departments.
