– Highly diverse and many divergence
– Many sub groups (LDC, AOSIS, African Group, Arab
Group, ALBA group, ILAC, BASIC, LMDC, etc..)
– A group position rather than country position
• Country Delegation
– Small in number due to financial constraints
– Continuous participation / Permanent team
– Lack of capacity built and knowledge

4. Sri Lankan Negotiation Position
• Sri Lanka is highly vulnerable
• Build the resilience to adapt the adverse impacts
• Adaptation is priority than Mitigation
• Emission should be cut by developed countries
referring their historical responsibility
• MoI should be provided to Adaptation, NAMAs,
R&D, etc..
• Identify and develop the national capacities to
ensure the food and energy security and the
sustainable growth of the economy
