This document describes various classroom structures that encourage student participation, including group discussions, panel discussions, buzz groups, symposium discussions, debates, experience discussions, concentric circles, reaction sheets, Phillips 66, reverse thinking, role playing, picture making, and brainstorming. For each structure, a brief definition is provided along with when it is best used, how to prepare and conduct the discussion, and potential limitations. The overall purpose is to provide teachers with different techniques to actively engage students in the learning process.
