Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

21. Procedures
What you need for this class…
3-ring binder (can be shared with other
subjects) or 3 sections of accordion file
and 1 spiral notebook
3 tab dividers for binder
1 for homework
1 for classwork
1 for journaling
Plenty of paper in your binder
Scientific calculator at home
Pencils
Red grading pens
22. Procedures
When you get to class each day…
… there will be a short assignment called a
bellringer waiting for you on the table or on the
whiteboard. Please set your homework binder
open on your desk and get to work on the
bellringer quietly, so we can begin our class right
away. Please do not come into class talking loudly
or being disruptive.
23. Procedures
When you finish your first
assignment…
… please stay quiet while others around you finish.
You can use this time to get your class notes ready
and organize your space.
24. Procedures
Homework assignments
All homework assignments must be completed in
pencil. If homework is completed in pen, it will have
to be done over again in pencil. There are no
exceptions to this. When doing homework
assignments, all work must be shown, not just the
answer. Homework must be neat and easy to read.
Homework that is messy or difficult to read will be
given back to be done correctly.
25. Procedures
Homework assignments
… during the bellringer assignment, I will go around
checking in homework. Make sure your binder is
open to the correct page. You will get a stamp on
your work to show it was checked in. If any part of
the homework assignment is incomplete, only 1
point will be given for the assignment.
26. Procedures
Grading homework assignments
After the bellringer, students will grade their own
homework assignments. A red pen must be used for
grading. Pencils must be put away during grading
time. Students found cheating during grading time
will receive no credit for the assignment and will be
sent to the office to call their parents.
27. Procedures
Homework assignment points: 3-2-1
Homework grades are given on a 3-2-1 scale as
follows:
3 points are given if all problems are attempted
and at least half the problems are correct
2 points are given if all problems are attempted
and less than half are correct
1 point is given if any problems are missing
0 points are given if homework is not done
28. Procedures
Homework assignment points: 3-2-1
0 and 1 point homework grades cannot be made
up for a higher score.
2 point homework grades can be done over to
reach a grade of 3.
29. Procedures
During the Lesson…
… pay attention and take notes, either on your
own paper in your classroom work section, or
on handouts I will give you. Remember– it’s
okay to ask questions! Most likely, someone
else is wondering the same thing you are, and is
secretly grateful you said something!
30. Procedures
During projects…
… you’ll be working with other students, so talking
with your group is fine… as long as you do so quietly
and are talking about the project.
31. Procedures
At the end of class…
… don’t pack up or get up and leave when you think
it’s time. Wait for me to dismiss you. If you start
getting ready to go ahead of time, you end up being
a distraction for someone else, and you may not
hear important information about the next class or
the assignment. You will also be asked to return to
your seat or get your supplies back out.
32. Procedures
If you need to use the restroom…
… please use the restroom before you come in to
class. This may mean you need to arrive at school a
few minutes early, so you have time. If you just can’t
wait until the end of class, you can ask to go to the
restroom during student activity time. Please do not
ask to leave the room while I am in the middle of
teaching– I don’t want you to miss something
important.
33. Be Productive Class Guidelines

Be ready to start learning when class starts
Do your homework assignments on time
