Classroom Procedures Voice Level 2 Each and every day at the beginning of class I expect that you will: Copy the days information into your planner. Have homework out and available for me to see. According to the day of the week*, (see below) one person at each table will retrieve the Math Journals for your team. If that person is absent it is the responsibility of the person next in line.  Begin work on the daily Math Box as soon as you have completed the first three items on this list. Unless otherwise advised use the “3 Before Me” strategy to ask questions. * Monday = Seat 1, Tuesday = Seat 2, Wednesday = Seat 3, Thursday = Seat 4, Friday = Seat 5
Classroom Expectations Be respectful of: self, teacher, teammates, space and materials DO: raise hand, listen when others are speaking, return borrowed materials better than you found them DON’T: tip chairs back, take without asking, yell out, roll eyes, raise lip, whisper under breath Be prepared every day Have all needed materials with you. Be a polite and positive participant Speak in a normal tone of voice, and listen attentively when others are talking. Be productive Turn in work on time, and always do your best. Be a problem solver Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate.
Show Respect Value yourself. Be honest and ethical, and practice strong moral values. Treat all members of the school community and all visitors with politeness and respect. Honor the ideas and opinions of others. Offer to help. Be responsible with property and belongings that belong to you, your teammates, the teachers and the schools.
Responsibility for Coursework Bring math folder, planner, and appropriate tools to class. Know due dates, and submit all coursework on time. All assignments are posted daily on the white board and weekly on the Jardine Web site. If you are absent for any reason it is your responsibility to collect any missed assignments from the teacher and any missed notes from a trusted teammate. Each absence has a one-day grace period for work missed.
Response to Violation of Expectations When you make the choice NOT to follow the expectations set forth by me, you and your teammates possible consequences will include: Removal from class activities Isolation from your team Immediate phone call to parent/guardian at work or home Additional assignments After school detention Consultation with entire 6 th  Grade team of teachers In-School suspension Referral to Jardine administration
Rewards When you make the choice to follow the expectations set forth by me, you and your teammates possible consequences will include: Paw Awards for outstanding teamwork and extra effort. Reward Parties that could include you bringing a snack and drink of choice, (no pop or energy drinks) Alternative classroom for a day. Listen to music during class, (all music must be pre-approved). Game Day, nothing but games for a day.
Grading Grades are based on the accumulation of points. Points are based on: Class participation  (effort) Completion of assignments (daily work) Major projects, quizzes and exams  Informal progress repots will be given every Friday, formal progress reports at mid-quarter and official grade cards at the end of each quarter, (9 weeks). Our Grading Scale 90-100%  = A 80-89%  = B 70-79%  = C 60-69%  = D Below 60%  = F
My Pledge to You I will trust you until you give me reason to do otherwise. I will respect you and work with you to solve problems. I will promptly correct and offer feedback on your work. I will work with you to meet learning goals. I will offer extra help and alternative assessments should you require them.
