4. VONDELPARK
Located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The park
was originally named Nieuwe Park, but later on
renamed to “Vondelpark” after the late Van den
Vondel. The park expands to 47 hectares and
has over a million of visitors per year. L.P.Zocher
was the park’s landscape architect and was
awarded with national heritage status.

Putrajaya Wetlands in Putrajaya, Malaysia is
accepted to be the biggest built
freshwater wetlands in the tropics. It is
the first man-made wetland in Malaysia,
which incorporates a Wetland Park (138
hectares) and the wetland regions
(1977 hectares). The Wetland now is
additionally a natural life asylum which
draws in an enormous assortment of
creatures to the consolidated physical sea-
going nature's turf.

• Group of prominent Amsterdam citizens formed and raised money
for architect David Zocher to design the park in a fashionable
English landscape style
• The park had horseback riding back in 1865
• The name Vondelpark was adopted in 1867 when Dutch poet Joost
van den Vondel’s statue was situated into the park itself.
• In 1877, the committee raised fund to enlarge the park and it
reached its current space 45 hectares.
• One year later in 1937, the Blauwe Theehuis (English: "Blue Tea
House") was opened. This tearoom is a round modernist building,
designed by the architectural office Baanders.
• The Vondelpark received the status of riiksmonument (English: "state
monument") in 1996.
• Starting in September 2008, adults were planned to be legally
allowed to have sex in the park. The sex must be limited to the
evening hours and night.", in the words of current
Amsterdam Alderman Paul Van Grieken.However, Amsterdam
Police announced that they would not in fact tolerate this as the
law required them to prevent it.

2002.
• All the planning and design of Putrajaya Wetland were managed by Putrajaya
Holding on behalf of Putrajaya Cooperation
• Upon the completion, Putrajaya Wetland is managed and operated by
Putrajaya Cooperation under the Town Planning Department, Division of
Environment, Lake and Wetlands as well the Landscape and Parks Department
