The Perdana Botanical Garden is situated within the Tun Abdul
RazakHeritageParkinKualaLumpur.Itwasoriginallycreatedasa
recreational park but has been rehabilitated and turned into a
BotanicalGarden.Today,itspansover226acresandhasmorethan
12 different flora collections plus extra features like a deer
park. The goal is to give visitors the ambience of a tropical
rainforest despite being in the middle of the bustling capital.

Alfred Venning, state treasurer of Selangor, proposed to
build the botanical garden.
Opened on 13 May 1889, a year after construction began, by the
Governor of the Straits Settlements, Sir Cecil Slementi Smith.
Grand opening of the park after the whole park 10
years after construction.
Fishing competitions were held at the Panggung Anniversary.
