▪ He rose to fame in 2002 after the release of his significant and divisive book

▪ In this book, Florida explains that in addition to the need for future professional
workers to be more inventive and creative, these workers will also migrate to
urban areas more frequently, where they will find quality of life amenities,
leisure activities, and cultural offerings in addition to economic "clusters" of
creative businesses. These urban areas will then adapt to meet the needs of
these "creative professional workers."

▪ The settlement lies close to the districts of Kandy and Matale in the central highland,
between 7.20 and 7.28 north latitude and 80.21 and 80.23 east longitude.
▪ The town region experiences average annual precipitation of 1000–1500 mm and
average daily temperatures of 25–35 °C.
▪ Due to the favorable environmental conditions, rice and coconut agriculture as well
as other minor crops like cinnamon, pepper, cocoa, coffee, and nutmeg have become
increasingly popular.
