City Hydron Research Paper
Our city Hydron uses creative ways to solve everyday problems. First the population is about 166,000 and our climate is Mediterranean, located in
southern California. The landscape would be a large valley. A major benefactor is the grid format which would maximize space and would increase
density. Electricity is extremely important and is what drives our city. For generatingenergy we would put solar panels on each building and each
building generates its own electricity. For larger buildings they would they would tap into the grid which gets its energy from smaller solar power
plants that would give energy to the grid. For the least amount of energy lost we would use electron–beam emitters which would save millions of tons
of CO2 emissions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The tofu base can be fermented into the finished food overnight. Whereas the peas will take approximately one week to fully mature, however, due
to the small stature of a pea, we could fit an extremely large number into the growing areas. Our growing areas produce tofu and peas very
efficiently and speedily, add on the benefits of an environmentally friendly power source (solar panels), and a very efficient electricity transfer system,
the making of the two foods requires very little energy. While data shows that it is the human tendency to shy away from change (i.e. lab grown tofu),
this change allows for a cheaper way to purchase food and still enjoy the nutritious benefits of said food. Another trade–off of regular lab grown food is
the taste, it does not seem possible to get that same hamburger flavor. We have fixed that problem by choosing to grow tofu, a food that can be
modified to taste to the consumer's liking. During the brainstorming for how to grow peas, we realized that we do not have the right climate for them,
which is why we created cone shaped ports, which then cool down the air from the

Multinational Market Regions And Market Groups Essay
The Company has set a goal of delivering more than $1 billion in cost savings over the next five years through global supply chain initiatives designed
to achieve economies of scale and reduce costs by leveraging people, process, and technology (H.J. Heinz Annual Report and 10k, 2010). Multinational
Market Regions and Market Groups Throughout the varying entities of the Heinz Corporation at least one thing remains constant, high expectations
pertaining to corporate and social responsibility.
Their pride in responsibility, along with their strict outline of rules and business standards, allows for swift and easy adaptations to local and regional
group regulations (such as: NAFTA, the EU, CAFTA, ASEAN, etc). Although countries and regions have differing health standards and regulations for
food, Heinz avoids complications with the countries' respective economic unions or organizations due to the Company's nature of business. If a firm in
the food industry wishes to compete on world level, the foremost outside force it will contend with and adapt to is culture. One way in which a country
expresses its culture is through food.
Since cultures change from region to region, one can see that it would be virtually impossible for a firm competing on a global scale to have one
product which hails all markets and appeals to everyone's preferences. Therefore, Heinz does not have one product that it must mold to different rules
and regulations in order to sell it to different markets.

Color change for positive and negative results of Macromolecules in food products with different chemical solutions
Introduction:
In Lab three, we experimented with different food products with Benedict, Iodine and Biuret solutions which test for sugars, starches, proteins and
lipids along with pH and testing for Grease spot. As we started talking and discussing about our food products, we decided as a group that Our
hypothesis for testing the Macromolecules in Fried Noodles would give us the positive result because fried Noodles contains flour, Canola oil, Yeast,
salt, soy sauce, sugar and chili. Potato chips would give us the positive result because of the salt, avocado oil, corn syrup and jalapeno. Tofu would be

Soybean Vs Roasted Essay
As seen in Figure 1, birds fed roasted soy beans had a significantly larger weight than birds fed raw soybeans for the first 3 weeks of the trial,
however, by the 4th week, both treatments produced similar sized birds. In terms of growth rate, as seen in Figure 2, the birds in both treatments
showed exponential growth between the 3rd and 4th week of treatments. This was slightly more noticeable in he raw soybean treatment. The percent fat
of the bird's body composition, depicted in Figure 3, was highest on days 14 and 21 of the treatments, however, more so in the roasted soybean
treatment. The bars for the roasted treatment of the aforementioned days had a high standard error range, therefore the graph may not be completely
accurate. The percent meat on the bird carcasses, shown in Figure 4, fluctuated between both treatments over the course of the experiment, however
both treatments levelled out by day 28.
The goal of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it was assumed muscle growth would be lower in treatment 1, but would increase during compensatory growth in birds from both trials. The
reasoning for this prediction was that raw soybeans contain less usable nutrients than roasted ones, therefore, the birds in treatment 1 were more
deficient than treatment 2. Feed restriction between birth and 2 weeks of age will result in lower muscle growth, but if switched to proper feed soon
after, birds will experience nearly full compensatory growth (Vellemen et al. 2010).
In terms of data, most potential errors seemed to have occurred in fat and muscle composition analysis, as standard error ranges were large in terms of
the roasted treatment and neither Figure 3 nor 4 had a distinct linear pattern. This may be due to the fact many students dissected the bird carcasses, and
my have incorrectly measured fat or muscle weight during

Essay on Origin and Story of Soy Sauce
Imagine you are at you favorite Asian inspired restaurant with your friends. You just finished ordering your food, when u look over and see that bottle
of dark syrupy liquid off to the side. Known around the world, Soy sauce is an international condiment that is used as a sauce, a condiment, as well as
an ingredient in plenty of dishes and recipes. Although this condiment is seen a lot in most Asian style restaurants or even in packets from your Chinese
take–out place but it is used all over the world But have you ever wanted to know exactly is soy sauce, or how its made and what gives it that dark

These merchants gave their new sauce a name which they hoped would catch on in their own language and also help it to sell. Then they started to
distribute it widely. By December 1750 it had reached the North America, arriving first in New York Harbor bearing the name "India Soy." (Shurtleff
& Aoyagi,2012)
Now, I will explain the process of making soy sauce. Now we all know that soy sauce comes from soy beans, but how is it turned into the dark syrupy
liquid? These use a process called fermentation, which a way of cooking a food using bacteria. There are two distinct ways to making soy sauce, there
is the traditional brewing fermentation and refining process, and then there is a chemical non brewing process called chemical–hydrolyzation. The
fermentation method takes up to six months to complete and results in a transparent, delicately colored broth with balanced flavor and aroma but the
non–brewing method is done in two days and has a harsher flavor and is opaque in color with a strong chemical aroma. The basic raw ingredients are
soy beans, wheat, and salt. There is also the introduction of bacteria called Aspergillus oryzae or Aspergillus soyae, which breaks down the proteins in
the soybeans.
So, in a nutshell, this is how the process works. First they blend or mash the soybeans and wheat, adding it to water and boiling it till the seeds are
softened. Then they add a seed mold to

Narrative Essay About The First Day Of School
"Cheers!" Uncle Ming cheered.
The drinking has started. Dinner became a slur of red faces and big laughter. Unlike Uncle Ming who is dancing, I'm looking glumly out the window.
"What's wrong Yan? This celebration is for you! Smile, you're an American girl now!", Aunt May said.
"No, I'm not. I just arrived here", I denied. "I could never become an American girl."
"Don't worry. I'll teach you everything I know".
The first day of school goes by very slow, in contrast to my racing heart. During recess, a pale, freckled–faced girl approaches me.
"Hiya! My name's Maggie. Wanna play?" she says.
"S–sure", I replied, words rolling out like tumbleweed.
We soon became explorers of the garden, princesses of Sparkleland, and slayer of the invisible dragon. I no longer felt anxiety.
Lunch rolls by, and I'm relieved. All that jumping made me hungry. Everyone reveals their delicious meals, from pizza to chicken nuggets. So I
decided to do the same.
Smiling big, my little hands hold out the stinky tofu rice meal for approval from my peers. Their wrinkled noses and narrowed eyes however, tell me
they don't like it as much as I do. I realize that I became what I feared most : the weird kid who didn't belong.
Walking home, I keep my shoulders low, as if a giant boulder was laid on my back. Feeling more frustrated than sad, I let it out the only way I know :
with words.
"How come all the kids get cool lunches and I don't?" I asked.
"What do you mean, Yan? You've always likedstinky tofu

Recently I ate at Benihana, a Japanese restaurant. I decided I would go back anytime because the service was great, the food was delicious, the
food was cooked in front of us, and the chef was very nice. First, the service was great. After waiting only about 10 minutes to sit down, we received
menus. The waiter then listed all the beverages, and I decided on strawberry lemonade. Throughout the rest of our dinner, the waiter checked in and
refilled our drinks as needed. He recommended different foods that he believed were the best, and served us appetizers before the chef came. In
conclusion, the service was fabulous. Second, the food was delicious. I decided on eating Hibachi Shrimp with Benihana's fried rice. Before the chef

the last appetizer before our main meal. When he cut the onions he left one, and then pulled it apart making a volcano shaped thing. Then he poured

increased interconnectivity, a fact reflected by the connections people make on Yelp to businesses and to other users.
Yelp has revolutionized businesses' and customers' interactions by giving consumers the power to influence others, creating a dependency between
businesses and their customers and making a positive social media presence a key to entrepreneurial success. Whereas businesses previously relied on

Can You Use Olive Or Margarine With Olive Oil?
Most of the questions that friends have asked me over the years when it comes to cooking and baking have one thing in common: how to combine
taste with health. I am going to attempt to answer 5 of those questions with some healthy and tasty tips! 1. Can you use olive oil in cookies and
cakes and will they taste good? The answer to those questions is yes and yes! You can replace butter or margarine with olive oil. The secret is to
beat the olive oil with an electric mixer until it turns white. In the process, it will also lose its distinctive odor. That can take up to 20 minutes but
it 's well worth your trouble. 2. Is there a healthy topping for ice cream? Chocolate and fudge syrups add empty calories to ice cream. You can
surely do without them. Try making this topping instead: wash well and quarter half a pound strawberries. Put them in a bowl and add 2 tbsp water,
one tsp sweet liquor of your preference and finally, one tbsp sugar. Put the lid on the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. When it 's ready, you
will have a mouth–watering syrup as well as delicious strawberries to top the ice cream with. 3. Can you have something that 's as tasty as ice cream
but with fewer calories, much less sugar and very little or no fat at all? Here 's an extremely easy solution: One cup (8 oz) low–fat or no–fat plain
yogurt Your favorite jello (mine is strawberry) Prepare the jello (following instructions on the package) and put it in the fridge until it sets. Put the

A Comparison OfThe Sacred And Vegetarian Physics?
The message that a poem carries is something that the reader must construct with their ideas and perspective they hold in order to find the true
interpretation of a poem. The poems "The Sacred" and "Vegetarian Physics" both share some similarities and differences within one another. Both of
these poems also contain imagery. They also contain symbolism in order to describe their message. Thedifference between these poems, is the
message that they deliver to the reader. Each of them posses their own unique meaning. These poems also both compare different objects to real life

Sushi Ko Review Sushi was first introduced to the United States in 1966. Business partners Noritoshi Kanai and Harry Wolff opened the first Sushi
restaurant, "Kawafuku", in the Little Tokyo neighborhood of Los Angeles. The success of Kawafuku led to the creation of many othersushi restaurants
as the popularity of the Japanese cuisine spread rapidly across the US. One of the many restaurants that was influenced by Kawafuku, Sushi Ko, was
established in 2013 in Porter Ranch, California. After searching for Sushi restaurants near me on Yelp, I decided to give the highly

Pros And Cons Of Veganism
Diets are usually a fad that celebrities promote. People often tend to go on a diet because of weight loss, religious convictions, health benefits,
reversing disease, or even to save money. Many people go on these diets either because celebrities promote a certain diet, they saw in on the latest
episode of Dr. Oz, or that's what is currently popular these days. Veganismhas been gaining popularity recently in the United States as now 6% of
Americans identify as vegan. "But what is veganism?", you may ask. According to the official PETA website, people who practice veganism, or vegans,
refrain from consuming anything that comes from animals, such as meat, dairy products, and eggs. Vegans often refuse to buy anything that comes
from or was previously tested on an animal. People choose to be vegan for a variety of reasons: some because of the unethical treatment of animals,
others for the environment or the health benefits from a plant–based diet. There are many famous vegans, such as Jhene Aiko, Erykah Badu, Alec
Baldwin, Colin Kaepernick, Angela Davis, Coretta Scott King, Ellen DeGeneres, Cesar Chavez, and many more. Opponents of the diet often express
many questions about veganism. The main assumptions are the following: "There isn't a variety of food. All vegans can eat are salads", "It is
impossible for a plant–based diet to provide all the necessary supplements of a well–balance diet", "Veganism is discriminatory and only appeals to

people in America follow a vegetarian–based diet. With more and more people choosing not to consume meat, the vegetarian market has grown a lot.
Since vegetarianism and veganism have gone mainstream so has vegetarian food. As a vegetarian, it is important that one attains the proper nutrients
that one misses from not consuming meat–based foods. One of the key components to a vegetarian diet is a vegetable named soybean, also known as
the miracle bean. Soy products provide calcium, protein, iron, and many more nutrients. Since soybeans can be easily manipulated, they are used
formed to be meat textured and flavored to imamate meat. Some of the main vegetarian brands and products like tofu, Boca products, and Morningstar

Kinsella (1976) defined protein functionality as those physical and chemical properties which affect the behavior of proteins in food systems during
processing, storage, prepration and consumption. Proteins are linked to functional properties such as solubility, water binding, gelation, foaming and
color, whereas starch is associated with solubility, swelling, water absorption, viscosity, and gelatinize (Bressani, 1985). Functional properties are
physicochemical properties that give information on how a food ingredient will behave in food system. The functionality of plantain and okara flours
can logically be attributed to its chemical components as determined by raw materials processing and storage conditions. Properties such as solubility,
viscosity, water and fat binding, emulsification, foaming and gelation are of general interest (Hermansson, 1979). The method of Okaka and Potter
(1977) with some modifications was used for determining the swelling capacity of okara and plantain flours. Foaming capacity and foaming stability
were determined as described by Narayana and Narasinga Rao, (1982) with slight modifications. Fracture strength of biscuits was measured with the
help of Texture Analyzer (model TA
–XT2i, Stable Micro systems, Haslemere, U.K) using a 3–point Bending Rig and 5 kg load cell. Biscuit samples

Informative Speech On Veganism
Part of being vegan is constantly having to answer the question, "but what made you go vegan?" And believe me – It. Gets. Old. So, today I'm going to
explain what veganism is, how I answer the FAQs, and why I, personally, went vegan.
What is Veganism?
Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food,
clothing or any other purpose. This includes not consuming meat, dairy, honey, eggs, gelatin, etc., as well as not using leather, feathers, wool, or
products that have been tested on animals.
So, Why Did I Go Vegan?
I had been thinking about trying veganism for a while when I came across an Instagram post stating that watching three documentaries in a row would
make [nearly] anyone go vegan. I was already vegetarian for health reasons, and I figured it would be the push I needed – so I watched them. These
three documentaries, in order, were Forks Over Knives, Cowspiracy, and Earthlings. Forks Over Knives is a documentary that discusses how
veganism can help our health, and can even treat or prevent illnesses such as diabetes and heart disease, while Cowspiracy explains how veganism can
help to better our planet. These two documentaries had me convinced, but the one that really pushed me was Earthlings. This documentary shows what
happens to animals in the meat and dairy industry, as well as the fur industry, zoos, and even circuses. Seeing those poor animals, and the

Torfu Research Paper
Tofu
One half–cup serving of raw, firm tofu contains 10.1 grams of protein. The recommended daily intake is 56 grams for most men and 46 for most
women. In active weight loss the recommendation is about 0.8g of protein per pound of body weight is generally adequate. For example, if you weigh
150 lbs., you might consider consuming about 75g of protein a day. A half–cup of tofu is approximately 4 oz by weight, or just under 1/3 of the
average sized 14 oz package of tofu. By comparison, 1/2 cup dairy milk contains 5.1 grams of protein, one 3 oz egg contains 6 grams and 4 oz ground
beef contains about 26 grams of protein. Tofu is an excellent source of vegetarian protein.

Here's how it compares to a few other foods. For each 100 calorie serving, tofu contains 11 grams of protein. By comparison, 100 calories of ground
beef provides 8.9 grams of protein, and a 100–calorie serving of cheese contains 6.2 grams.
Fat and cholesterol content in tofu
One half–cup serving of raw firm tofu contains 5 grams of fat. Low fat tofu is also commercially available, and contains 1.5 grams of fat per serving. 4
oz of beef packs a whopping 15 grams of fat, and one egg contains 5.5 grams of fat. Tofu is a cholesterol–free food, as are all plant–based foods. By
comparison, a half–cup of 2% milk contains 9 mg of cholesterol, 4 oz of fish contains 75–100 mg of cholesterol and 4 oz ground beef contains about
113 mg cholesterol.
Calcium
One half–cup serving of firm tofu contains about 227 mg of calcium or about 22% of the RDA. Tofu may contain a little bit less calcium depending
on the brand and the way it was made so be sure to read the label if you're concerned. Silken tofu contains approximately 133 mg, again depending on
the brand.

Chinese Food : A Important Culture
In China, food culture is a very important culture. A meal in Chinese culture is typically seen as consisting of two general components. One is
rice, noodles, or buns. The other one is accompanying dishes, such as vegetables, fish, meat or other items. This is different from Western meals
which meat or animal protein is often considered as the main dish. In fact, it is a harmony among grain, vegetable and meat. Chinese foods pay
much attention on perfect harmony with the color, aroma, taste and shape, which share equal importance in the preparation of each dish, thereby,
satisfying the gustatory, olfactory, visual senses and healthy When I came to USA, I have heard people said Chinese food is healthy, I felt proud
when they said that. But after 2 years, I will say American style Chinese food is not as healthy as traditional Chinese food. I want to talk about the

Sometimes life is frightening, sometimes it's exciting and sometimes make you don't want to know the ending. The mystery of life is not a
problem to be solved but reality to be experienced and here is one of my journey. In September 2011, my mother received the offer about a retreat

Taiwanesse habit is they only take a bath once a day in the evening. In the morning they wash their face and brush their teeth and the ready to go to
work, they usually have "bao" or in Indonesia we call it bapao for breakfast. It seems strange to me at first but on the other hand it's also "weird"
for them that we Indonesian people take a bath twice a day. After several days we went back to Indonesia, for me it's really an awesome retreat. I'm
not regret to go there. That I went to Taiwan for retreat is wonderful. Being there for several days made me got a new experience and knowledge

The Diet Of A Vegetarian Diet
In recent years more and more people are turning to a vegan diet. This diet is having some impact on food services such as restaurants because
instead of a normal menu they must now cater to the ever growing population of vegans. Some of the things that are making this diet popular are
the support it is receiving from health professionals like doctors and nutritionists, but just a couple decades ago doctors recommended cigarettes
as a healthy choice. Let's get the facts straight about what is a healthy diet and compare it to a vegan diet. The Office of Disease Prevention and
Health Promotion's Health.Gov defines a healthy diet as one that limits sugar and sodium, provides the essential vitamins required to live, has a
variety in food both vegetables and meats, and diets that keep good eating patterns with while keeping changes small. ("Top 10") Healthy diets are
essential for living a long life and have effects from living longer than someone who doesn't eat healthy to lessening a number of illnesses that
someone could experience. The claims of the effects of a vegan diet range all over this scale, while some of the basics of Veganism contradicts the
criteria set by the USDA for a healthy diet. Does enough of the vegan diet match up with what a healthy diet really is, and does being a vegan really
mean you're healthier? A healthy diet requires a variety of different meats and vegetables. People who eat a vegan diet swear off meat completely this
can lead to many problems.

Taking Risks And Trying New Things
Taking risks and trying new things is a thrilling moment for me. I can usually pride myself on being adventurous when it comes to trying new food.
Either trying a type of cuisine foreign to me or choosing a new restaurant, I can always say that I will try anything at least once. If it is a dish in a
restaurant I have never tried before, or something that a family member or friend made, I always think that nothing is so appalling that one bite may
kill me. It is an exciting time for me, as I might find a new food type that I had never heard of before that will end up becoming a new favorite.
Sushi restaurants have been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. Japanese cuisine is one of my favorites and I cherish every time I get
to enjoy a meal at an authentic sushi restaurant. I have always loved the varied aspects of Japanese cuisine, the fresh raw fish, the unique sushi rolls,
and the many enticing side dishes. I am always willing to try anything and never seem to find a single dish at a sushi restaurant that I am not fond of.
When I moved to Riverside, my family began visiting this one all you can eat sushi restaurant. It was a great environment and an exciting dining
experience as you can order and try anything on the menu. This particular sushi restaurant became a fast favorite of mine.
One evening however, I would be tested on just how willing I was to trying something strange and new. On my way to the restaurant with my family,

Japanese restaurant was authentic and the ingredients were fresh, it was a good place to taste Japanese cuisine. Fortunately, when I went to this
restaurant, the boss was right there. I introduced him to the purpose of my visit, and he accepted my request and enthusiastically introduced the
specialty of his restaurant.
According to our interview, he told me that because of the work they immigrated to Lincoln, but when they retired, they found themselves love their
traditional food in Japan, so they decided to opened a Japanese restaurant in Lincoln to pass the boring time of retirement. They also have a lot of

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Japanese Food
Traditional Japanese cuisine is based on rice with miso soup and other dishes, with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients. Side dishes often include;
fish, pickled vegetables, and vegetables cooked in broth. Fish is commonly served grilled but can also be served raw as sashimi or in sushi. Seafood
and vegetables are also deep–fried in light batter as tempera. Apart from rice, important foods include noodles such as soba and udon. The five most
important ingredients are; 1. Rice. There are two main types of rice. Uruchimai which is slightly sticky and is used for sushi and most japanese rice
dishes and Mochigome is a more sticky variety of rice that is used for mochi and mochi–like foods. 2. Shoyu. Shoyu (soy sauce) adds another

Principles of Economics and How They Played Out in the...
Impact of fluctuation The soaring prices of basic items in the making of fried Tofu and the demand for the same has made it difficult to trade in this
particular item as there have been price consequences on this delicacy for many of the Indonesians. The last few years have seen soaring prices of
chili and soya beans. This has been in line with the rest of the world food prices that have seen some countries like Egypt and Tunisia break into
violent riots and government overthrow. This case study indicates portrays a significant amount of economics principles and how they interplay in the
real market situation. The following are the major economics principles that were noted in the case study; Cross–price elasticity (include substitutes
and complements) Cross–price elasticity is the percentage change in the quantity demand of one product occasioned by a given percentage change in
the price of a related product. With the variation in the prices, the demand of a particular item does not solely rely on its price but that of other
products as well that may be a substitute or a complement to it. Cross–price elasticity is used to classify and group items that may compete against each
other. For instance if the increase in the price of item X results in the increase of demand for item Y with the price of Y remaining constant, then the
items or products X and Y are said to be substitutes. On the other hand if the price of item A results into the drop in the quantity

Any meal event or occasion can be easily managed when you've got a supply of hard–cooked eggs at hand. Frequently, hard–cooked eggs are
mistakenly called hard–boiled eggs. Hard–cooked eggs are done in such a way wherein water is made to reach the boiling point and then heat is turned
off while letting the eggs cook subtly in hot water. With this method ofcooking, eggs will be less rubbery, more tender, with less breakage and no
presence of green ring around the yolk. It is hard to peel eggs that are fresh since the shell membranes at this point still adheres firmly to the shells.
If you want to peel the eggs easily, put an egg in the refrigerator about a wekk or 10 days for advance hard cooking. With this, the egg will be able

in April 2006 by Harris Interactive reported that 1.4% of the American population is vegan, in that they eat no meat, fish, dairy, or eggs. To the naked
eye of society, becoming a vegan is a healthy lifestyle choice, but there are major health advantages to this trendy way of living that you may have not

In order to seek the amazing health benefits from veganism, one must be proper with their diets to thrive. Firstly, many vegans are potentially at risk for
vitamin B–12 deficiency due to the absence of nutrients from the foods they choose not to eat. In order to avoid this deficiency, vegans should regularly
consume vitamin B–12–fortified foods, such as fortified soy and rice beverages, breakfast cereals, and B–12–fortified nutritional yeast, or take a daily
vitamin B–12 supplement. Secondly, by becoming a vegan, many lose a lot of the calcium that they usually receive from a non–vegan diet. In order to
make up for this loss of calcium, one should eat green leafy vegetables, tofu, tahini, calcium–fortified orange and apple juices, soy and rice beverages
and soy milk. Thirdly, by becoming a vegan, one may lose a lot of nutrients from the fatty acid ALA. In order to make up for this loss, one must eat
foods such as ground flaxseed, walnuts, canola oil, soy products and hemp seed–based beverages. In order to be a vegan that is healthy and beneficial
towards the prevention of disease and illness, one must make sure their diet makes up for the losses of nutrients that one would gain from a non–vegan

City Hydron Research Paper

  • 1. City Hydron Research Paper Our city Hydron uses creative ways to solve everyday problems. First the population is about 166,000 and our climate is Mediterranean, located in southern California. The landscape would be a large valley. A major benefactor is the grid format which would maximize space and would increase density. Electricity is extremely important and is what drives our city. For generatingenergy we would put solar panels on each building and each building generates its own electricity. For larger buildings they would they would tap into the grid which gets its energy from smaller solar power plants that would give energy to the grid. For the least amount of energy lost we would use electron–beam emitters which would save millions of tons of CO2 emissions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The tofu base can be fermented into the finished food overnight. Whereas the peas will take approximately one week to fully mature, however, due to the small stature of a pea, we could fit an extremely large number into the growing areas. Our growing areas produce tofu and peas very efficiently and speedily, add on the benefits of an environmentally friendly power source (solar panels), and a very efficient electricity transfer system, the making of the two foods requires very little energy. While data shows that it is the human tendency to shy away from change (i.e. lab grown tofu), this change allows for a cheaper way to purchase food and still enjoy the nutritious benefits of said food. Another trade–off of regular lab grown food is the taste, it does not seem possible to get that same hamburger flavor. We have fixed that problem by choosing to grow tofu, a food that can be modified to taste to the consumer's liking. During the brainstorming for how to grow peas, we realized that we do not have the right climate for them, which is why we created cone shaped ports, which then cool down the air from the ... • 2. Multinational Market Regions And Market Groups Essay The Company has set a goal of delivering more than $1 billion in cost savings over the next five years through global supply chain initiatives designed to achieve economies of scale and reduce costs by leveraging people, process, and technology (H.J. Heinz Annual Report and 10k, 2010). Multinational Market Regions and Market Groups Throughout the varying entities of the Heinz Corporation at least one thing remains constant, high expectations pertaining to corporate and social responsibility. Their pride in responsibility, along with their strict outline of rules and business standards, allows for swift and easy adaptations to local and regional group regulations (such as: NAFTA, the EU, CAFTA, ASEAN, etc). Although countries and regions have differing health standards and regulations for food, Heinz avoids complications with the countries' respective economic unions or organizations due to the Company's nature of business. If a firm in the food industry wishes to compete on world level, the foremost outside force it will contend with and adapt to is culture. One way in which a country expresses its culture is through food. Since cultures change from region to region, one can see that it would be virtually impossible for a firm competing on a global scale to have one product which hails all markets and appeals to everyone's preferences. Therefore, Heinz does not have one product that it must mold to different rules and regulations in order to sell it to different markets. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Soybean Vs Roasted Essay As seen in Figure 1, birds fed roasted soy beans had a significantly larger weight than birds fed raw soybeans for the first 3 weeks of the trial, however, by the 4th week, both treatments produced similar sized birds. In terms of growth rate, as seen in Figure 2, the birds in both treatments showed exponential growth between the 3rd and 4th week of treatments. This was slightly more noticeable in he raw soybean treatment. The percent fat of the bird's body composition, depicted in Figure 3, was highest on days 14 and 21 of the treatments, however, more so in the roasted soybean treatment. The bars for the roasted treatment of the aforementioned days had a high standard error range, therefore the graph may not be completely accurate. The percent meat on the bird carcasses, shown in Figure 4, fluctuated between both treatments over the course of the experiment, however both treatments levelled out by day 28. The goal of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, it was assumed muscle growth would be lower in treatment 1, but would increase during compensatory growth in birds from both trials. The reasoning for this prediction was that raw soybeans contain less usable nutrients than roasted ones, therefore, the birds in treatment 1 were more deficient than treatment 2. Feed restriction between birth and 2 weeks of age will result in lower muscle growth, but if switched to proper feed soon after, birds will experience nearly full compensatory growth (Vellemen et al. 2010). In terms of data, most potential errors seemed to have occurred in fat and muscle composition analysis, as standard error ranges were large in terms of the roasted treatment and neither Figure 3 nor 4 had a distinct linear pattern. This may be due to the fact many students dissected the bird carcasses, and my have incorrectly measured fat or muscle weight during ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Known around the world, Soy sauce is an international condiment that is used as a sauce, a condiment, as well as an ingredient in plenty of dishes and recipes. Although this condiment is seen a lot in most Asian style restaurants or even in packets from your Chinese take–out place but it is used all over the world But have you ever wanted to know exactly is soy sauce, or how its made and what gives it that dark color? These merchants gave their new sauce a name which they hoped would catch on in their own language and also help it to sell. Then they started to distribute it widely. By December 1750 it had reached the North America, arriving first in New York Harbor bearing the name "India Soy." (Shurtleff & Aoyagi,2012) Now, I will explain the process of making soy sauce. Now we all know that soy sauce comes from soy beans, but how is it turned into the dark syrupy liquid? These use a process called fermentation, which a way of cooking a food using bacteria. There are two distinct ways to making soy sauce, there is the traditional brewing fermentation and refining process, and then there is a chemical non brewing process called chemical–hydrolyzation. The fermentation method takes up to six months to complete and results in a transparent, delicately colored broth with balanced flavor and aroma but the non–brewing method is done in two days and has a harsher flavor and is opaque in color with a strong chemical aroma. The basic raw ingredients are soy beans, wheat, and salt. There is also the introduction of bacteria called Aspergillus oryzae or Aspergillus soyae, which breaks down the proteins in the soybeans. So, in a nutshell, this is how the process works. First they blend or mash the soybeans and wheat, adding it to water and boiling it till the seeds are softened. Then they add a seed mold to ... • 7. Narrative Essay About The First Day Of School "Cheers!" Uncle Ming cheered. "I could never become an American girl." "Don't worry. So I decided to do the same. Smiling big, my little hands hold out the stinky tofu rice meal for approval from my peers. Their wrinkled noses and narrowed eyes however, tell me they don't like it as much as I do. I realize that I became what I feared most : the weird kid who didn't belong. Walking home, I keep my shoulders low, as if a giant boulder was laid on my back. Feeling more frustrated than sad, I let it out the only way I know : with words. "How come all the kids get cool lunches and I don't?" I asked. "What do you mean, Yan? You've always likedstinky tofu ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Fast Food Menu Analysis Recently I ate at Benihana, a Japanese restaurant. I decided I would go back anytime because the service was great, the food was delicious, the food was cooked in front of us, and the chef was very nice. First, the service was great. After waiting only about 10 minutes to sit down, we received menus. The waiter then listed all the beverages, and I decided on strawberry lemonade. Sushi restaurants have been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. Japanese cuisine is one of my favorites and I cherish every time I get to enjoy a meal at an authentic sushi restaurant. I have always loved the varied aspects of Japanese cuisine, the fresh raw fish, the unique sushi rolls, and the many enticing side dishes. I am always willing to try anything and never seem to find a single dish at a sushi restaurant that I am not fond of. When I moved to Riverside, my family began visiting this one all you can eat sushi restaurant. It was a great environment and an exciting dining experience as you can order and try anything on the menu. This particular sushi restaurant became a fast favorite of mine.
