1. Introduction:
We’ve been learning in class about the Bill of Rights in the Constitution of the United States. However,
how important is the knowledge of the rights if you can’t see how they’re useful in your lives? These
rights are not just words written on an old sheet of paper, but principles that have long been prized
among American society. Whether you know it or not, your rights are constantly being daily protected
by the Bill of Rights. This WebQuest is going to help you learn how to apply these rights to your lives.
Task:
You will break into groups and work together, much like the task of drafting our class’s bill. Use the
computers in the classroom and your notes to gather information on Amendments 4 through 8. After
meeting with your groups, prepare a presentation on how your particular amendment applies to your
classmates’ lives. Make it relatable. Make the class listen. Show that these protected freedoms are
very important for the sake of our comfort as Americans.

Evaluation:
Students will be evaluated on their knowledge and understanding of their amendment. Each member of
the group must show that they made a contribution to the group’s presentation. Students must include
court cases for each amendment and at least one visual aid.

your amendment, and you know enough to be able to make it applicable to your class! And, if your
