1. Christian Worldview Essay
Writing an essay on the Christian worldview presents a unique set of challenges. Firstly, it
requires a comprehensive understanding of the Christian faith and its various denominations, as
interpretations can differ significantly. Navigating through the diverse theological perspectives
within Christianity demands thorough research to present a well-rounded view.
Additionally, crafting an essay on this topic involves delving into complex philosophical and
ethical discussions. Exploring concepts such as the nature of God, the problem of evil, and the
role of faith in daily life requires careful consideration and a nuanced approach. It's essential to
strike a balance between presenting the core tenets of the Christian worldview and addressing
potential critiques or counterarguments.
Furthermore, writing an essay on the Christian worldview often involves discussing its historical
development and how it has shaped societies over time. Analyzing the impact of Christian
beliefs on culture, politics, and morality requires a broad knowledge base and the ability to
connect historical events to the underlying theological principles.
Expressing personal reflections while maintaining academic rigor is another challenge. Balancing
subjective experiences with scholarly analysis is crucial to ensuring the essay is both engaging
and intellectually satisfying. This requires a deep introspective examination of one's own beliefs
and experiences within the context of the Christian worldview.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the Christian worldview demands a blend of theological
knowledge, philosophical acumen, historical awareness, and the ability to navigate nuanced
discussions. It's a task that requires careful research, thoughtful reflection, and effective
communication to convey the complexities of this multifaceted topic.

2. Dramaturgy
Erving Goffman introduced the sociological theory of Dramaturgy in his book The
Presentation of Self in Everyday Life. According to Goffman, life is like a theatrical
performance, and states how we present ourselves in everyday life is similar to as
stage. Similarly, Peter Manning applies dramaturgical sociologyto understand how
policeorganization functions. Manning describes policing as a backstage drama
containing secrecy, teamwork, lies and information control are essential for a
successful public performance. Police officers are supposed to control, prevent, deter,
and punish crime where they uphold power and authority. For example, when police
departments keep statistics of crime rates and crime statistics of crimes they

Goffman emphasises on the presentation of self, how self is a product of scene.
Who you are is who you successfully convince your audience to be. Erving s version
of dramaturgy is more concerned about one s day to day interactions. He believes
there is a self: the version favorable to others (frontstage). This self can be the
person who is meeting their significant other s family for the first time. Secondly,
the impression management meaning what we want the world to see. This can be a
person who wants outside world to see them as the most nicest person but behind
close doors can be total opposite. Thirdly, the backstage self meaning the version of
ourselves we present to those who we are familiar with overtime. This can be the
version of yourself in front of your parents versus your boss. Erving Goffman is
concerned more with individuals which applies dramaturgy in a more micro level.
When a person fails the representation of front stage, it only affects the

Elder abuse is a rarely talked about, yet growing, situation throughout the United
States with many impactful health and public consequences. No matter a person s
race, culture, social class, religion, physical addition, or sexual orientation, abuse is a
tragedy that can impact anyone even elder adults. Until the judicial system, health
care professionals, family members, and other community members ban together to

According to Malmedal, Iverson, Kilvik (2015), sexual abuse is the nonconsenting
sexual contact of any kind that is said to be the most hidden form of elder abuse
and is the least acknowledged and reported type of elder mistreatment. Some of the
multiple reasons why sexual assault of elders goes unreported is due to the fact that
there is no universally agreed definition, most of the time, elders just aren t believed
due to their mental status, and especially because majority of the population
believes the elders do not partake in sexual activity to begin with (Phillips Guo,
2011). Most victims of sexual abuse in nursing homes are cognitively impaired or are
physically impaired. Typically, the perpetrators tend to be mainly staff members or
other residents. Although victims are more often women than not, it is still not
uncommon for men to fall victim to sexual assault as well. A very common
consequence of sexual abuse, especially of those forced to stay in an elder home with
their sexual abuser, is mental health problems such as suicide. Studies have reported
that 11 out of 20 nursing home patients died within a year after from trauma caused
from the abuse. Other than sexual intercourse, the additional types of sexual abuse
include inappropriate sexual talking, kissing, inappropriate grabbing, nonconsensual

8. Compare And Contrast Maggie And Million Dollar Baby
The arena was full of loud noises, cheering, screaming. Bodies filled the room so
close each was touching others bodies sweating vigorously this was the rush, the
beginning of a fight. The book Million Dollar Baby by F.X Toole and the movie
directed by Clint Eastwood, Compared, The movie is more detailed. This is
because of the characterization, plot and point of view in which both stories are
told. First and foremost the movie is more detailed because of characterization.
Firstly based upon how maggie is portrayed. Maggie is a more detailed character
because you see more of her personality she is seen more as a living breathing
emotional human being this is expressed poorly in the book but more strongly in
the movie. the way she said it was more like a statement then a question, and she
spoke with a hillbilly accent. Two thick braid of auburn hair hung down behind each
ear framing a freckled face and a pair of agate eyes like frankie s daughter. She was
maybe 5 9 and weighed a fit 140 she was relaxed and stood gracefully her weighed
balanced on both feet and despite a broken nose she was a loker. (pg#1). Opposed
to the way she is imaged in the movie the way maggie s actor characterizes maggie
fits better because there is more emotion and emphasis on maggie s character as a
whole in the movie Maggie s expressions make her seem joyful and happy yet

My family s summer cabin was along the south coast line of Norway. Since it s a
time share between my entire father s side of the family, we were not able to spend
as much time as we sometimes wanted to there. Therefore, one summer when I was
11 years old my parents sent me to spend time alone with my grandmother at the
summer house. In Norway its common to share a cabin with your entire mother s or
father s side of the familyand have specific weeks where each family can stay at the
cabin. This summer my family was not able to take advantage of our week at the
cabin, therefore I was sent to spend time with my grandmother. Later in life I suspect
this was because my parents often thoughtof me as a very sensitive and wimpy child.

They were brothers that spent their entire summers on the island. The older one
named Nils was the more experienced and tougher of the two, while the younger
brother Per usually just followed his older sibling around. In my young and
impressionable age, I looked up to Per and Nils. They had qualities that I admired
such as being leaders from a young age and being experienced in taking initiative. I
remember one previous adventure I had had with them were they took me out on
their little rubber boat in the ocean to shoot seagulls with their BB gun. This
incident showed me that Nils and Per were quite the young risk takers since
shooting seagulls is illegal in Norway outside of certain areas and seasons.
One day we decided to traverse all the way to the other side of the island where none

In investigating about the evaluation procedures for many different positions of a
school, I learned a great deal about how, when, and why. There is a system in place
for most employees and their evaluation procedures. Teachers are evaluated
according to their license status and the previous year s TVAAS score. This can
mean they have anywhere between two to six evaluations throughout the year. Some
will be scheduled but others are unannounced to allow for teacher accountability. On
top of these evaluations, teachers are also check upon during Response to
Intervention (RTI). These checks are called fidelity checks and are used to ensure
teachers are following state procedures put into place regarding their tier and student
needs.

One impact that companies have using offshore outsourcing is the business rivalry,

In the event that we take a gander at figure one on the past page, we can see this by

organization may fall flat. This is noted by the exemplified manufacturing plant

For many years, there has been an ongoing debate as to whether or not the Senate
should undergo a reform. Many Canadian citizens are unsatisfied with the fact that
the Senate is not elected. How are citizens to be sure that they are being properly

Senate is an integral part of the governmental system, many Canadians are leaning
towards the idea to completely abolish the Senate. The credible, David C. Docherty,

A rhetorical device is a use of language that is intended to have an effect on its
audience. In Henry s Speech in the Virginia Convention he used many rhetorical
devices, but the ones I m going to go over are three that he used most and of higher
quality than Franklin in his speech in the Convention. The three main rhetorical
devices are rhetorical questions, parallelism, and charged words and phrases. A
rhetorical question is a question asked without expecting an answer. Parallelism is the
use of successive verbal construction. Lastly charged words and phrases are intended
to bring out emotions in the audience. My opinion Henry used rhetorical devices
supplementary and superior to Franklins speech. A rhetorical question might be a

Henry used plenty of charged words. For instance, It is only in this way that we
can hope to arrive at truth and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God
and our country. (Henry, pg 203). God being the charged word, Henry believed
that God was on their side and in support of the military efforts of the
Revolutionary War, and so they should go to war to follow God s will. This is an
example of a charged phrase, Are we disposed to be of the number of those who
having eyes see not, and having ears hear not, the things which so nearly concern
their temporal salvation? (Pg 204). Temporal salvation meaning enteral salvation
of the soul, but the way Henry used it, he was fighting for liberty and human rights
for a new nation; temporal freedom. There is no retreat but in submission and
slavery (Pg 206). Slavery being the charged word. A slave is a man, women, or a
child who is by law deprived of their liberty for life, and becomes the property of
another. A slave has no political rights, and generally has no civil rights. Henry used
these charged words to get the colonist to feel emotion, anger and

knowledge about Mars through the late 199os and early 2ooos.
Viking 1 was launched on August 2o, 1975, and the second craft, Viking 2, was

After orbiting Mars for more than a month and returning images used for landing site

scientific operations from orbit while the landers deployed instruments on the surface.

world was hurricane Katrina. Endless lessons can be learnt from this disaster

Many of needle exchange programs perform a one for one basis to decrease the

She does this to ensure the listeners that taking care of the environment does much
more than make the world we live in look better. Taking care of the environment also
takes part in ensuring a successful democracy and many other important things in
society. The idea that Maathai is attempting to get across to everyone is that the Earth
is our friend and we should give back what we take. She helps us understand this by
explaining the awful chain reactions that occur when we don t replenish what we
have consumed from Earth.
Third, she makes her call to action. She asks everyone to take part in something to
help the environment. She addresses each group of people separately. Men and
women of all races, children, young adults, everyone, can take part in something to
help. In the course of history, there comes a time when humanity is called to shift to
a new level of consciousness, to reach a higher moral ground. A time when we have
to shed our fear and give hope to each other. That time is now. (4) Her sentence
structure of That time is now, really gives emphasis on what she wants. It is short
and to the point. It s also a very simple sentence. She didn t replace simple words
with fancier words. This shows that what she is asking from people isn t rocket
science. She is asking for something as simple as planting trees or recycling. Her call
to action is for everyone to contribute to helping take care of the environment in some
way.

Many analysts would note that based on the consensus of the world population, the
company s equity is of the highest value as they are currently ranked as industry
leader in market capitalization (source: Yahoo Finance) which conveniently brings me
to my next evaluation.
1.1 Capital Structure
As much as market cap measures to what s related to the company s equity value, a
firm s decision based on its capital structure estimates more significantly to how the
value of that company is allocated not only for the return on equity but accounting
for debt as well. Most economists would refer to capital structure as the mix of a
company s long term debt, the current portion of it, and of common and preferred
stock. Furthermore, large tech companies today have been taking advantage of
capital structure optimizations as it is placed shoulder to shoulder to increasing
return on equity thus lowering weighted average costs of capital for long term
investment. In other words, it is how a corporate manager should base his/her
decisions on financing the company s assets and operations through various growth
prospects and forecast estimates. We will begin to further evaluate the composition of

25. How Does Charles Dickens Use Water In Great Expectations
Great Expectations is a Victorian Era novel written by Charles Dickens, and based
around a young boy named Pip who struggles internal with moral decisions, and
strives to better himself, and become a gentleman. Water is used throughout the book
to represent purity, but that s only on the outside. Taking the time to dig deeper it
becomes more apparent that water correlates less with purity or growth, and more
with fate. Jaggers washing his hand consistently throughout the book, the fight
between Compeyson and Magwitch near the end of the book, which took place in
water, and the tar water at the beginning. In Charles Dickenss Great Expectations, the
recurring imagery of water reveals the universal theme of regret and guilt throughout
the novel.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without water guilt would have just been put right in front with no explanation. It
would have just been a bland excuse for a novel, with nothing special to it, but the
way Dickens includes it in his writing spectacularly really makes it stand out.
Water develops guilt and regret by constantly setting an undertone and always
having a deeper meaning no matter how for the tunnel goes. Even though it way
seem simple and one sided on the outside, it always goes deeper. Hours and hours
of research won t even put a dent in the topic, and it was written so intricately that
it will never end. Water isn t about purity or growth in this book, it means the exact
opposite, it s about pain and impurity, regret and guilt, and shame and
hopelessness. A Dictionary of Symbols states, Its predominant characteristics are:
(i) it fertilizes; (ii) it purifies... , which Dickens bounced off of these traits to make
you think about water in a completely different way. Jaggers has already muddied
the water he washes himself with, causing him to wallow in his own guilt,
Magwitch and Compeyson have lived their whole life surrounded by water and
guilt, and Pip s first true regret is embodied by water. This all proves that Dickens
knew what he was looking for from the first word on the

And Then There Were None Essay In And Then There Were None, a murder
mystery novel by Agatha Christie, ten guests are invited to Soldier Island by Mr.
U. N. Owen. The island is open and pretty much empty with the exception of a
mansion that the guests will be staying at. Mr. Owen s invitees are all inside of the
modern house just as a huge storm is rolling through, which traps them on the island
and inside the house. The group has just finished dinner and is sitting in the drawing
room when all of the sudden a recording from a gramophone starts to play. The
voice on the recording charges each of them with a murder, knows the date of when
it was committed, and the names of the people who were killed. The guests are

If a justice system is ruled by only one person and that person has a passion for
causing death, it will most definitely be a corrupt and unjust system. This is
because even if a defendant is found or thought to be the slightest bit guilty, that
judge will order death upon them. Wargrave believes that since he was going to
die soon anyway that he needed to fulfil his dream of a perfect murder, but he did
not want to harm the innocent. He went out and devised a plan to find people that
had gotten away with murder and justice was not served. Then to kill all of those
people he chose to follow a nursery rhyme he had loved from his childhood. He did
this because he had loved to read murder mysteries and wanted to make the whole
plan theatrical. I have wanted let me admit it frankly to commit a murder myself. I
recognized this as the desire of the artist to express himself! I was, or could be, an
artist in crime! (Christie 256). He thought that his plan was an art form and he
wanted to be recognized. The fact that Wargrave thinks that being responsible for
the loss of ten lives is an art form leads the audience to believe that Wargrave is
insane. After all, he himself says I ve no doubt in my own mind that we have been
invited here by a madman probably a dangerous homicidal lunatic. (Christie 56). His
perceived insanity proves he is unfit to make life and death decisions. As the judge of
the island, this further confirms that his justice system is not fair because he cannot
think or judge the circumstances clearly. ( insert quote and supporting evidence

Almost all military personnel had been recalled from bases around the world to
assist in domestic relief efforts. Entire cities up and down both coasts had been
wiped off the map. I was stationed at a refugee center near Dallas when Black
announced his candidacy for President. I was at another refugee center, on the
outskirts of what used to be Los Angeles, two years later when he declared martial
law and announced mandatory chip identification for all residents after a terrorist
attack and an assassination attempt. I was no idiot and, given the sequence of events,
there were plenty of clapboards hailing Black as the Antichrist. Of course, he

All over the world, economies were crashing. Power was being consolidated
among the few remaining large powers. The Middle East was still famous for its
terror and strife, and Joshua Black, at some point, decided to revisit the old plan of
putting an end to it once and for all. Unfortunately, this time there was no coalition.
This time it was the U.S., China, and Russia squaring off in the desert trying to
take control and keep control before any of the others could act. I was on the other
side of the world, too old to participate in combat, but in a guard post somewhere
near Denver when Armageddon began. It was a no holds barred fight. All the
major players hit one another with everything they had, and everything they had
worked well. The devastation was complete. Several cities across the globe were
bombed either conventional or nuclear, nobody knew for sure. By the end of it,
well nigh all life and material objects alike on the Eastern hemisphere had turned to
ash. We also, suffered the fallout on the west side; the sky got dark, the air became
frigid, winds howled day and night. Everyone acknowledged it to be the end of the

Biological Terrorism
I. CATASTROPHIC TERRORISM
The date is April 24, 2005. The time is approximately 8:30 am. Somewhere on the
New York City subway system a briefcase sits, apparently forgotten. Inside the
briefcase, an electronic oscillator flips over, marking the passage of thirtieth minute
since its owner abdicated. In the busy subway station no one notices the small hissing
noise that is produced as an odorless, tasteless aerosol is slowly released into the air.
Within minutes, the pathogen contained in the gas has spread throughout the station,

Yes, it could happen. In the remainder of this paper, I will consider whether such an
incident of catastrophic biological terrorism will occur, who is likely to perpetrate it,
what agents they are likely to employ, to what end they may do so, and what
technical capabilities will be required. I will focus on independantly motivated
terrorism, as state sponsorship lies beyond the scope of this paper and my research.
Apocalyptic Vs. Traditional Terrorism
The terrorist of the so called age of terrorism roughly, 1968 through 1990 was
perceived to be an individual who functioned within the international system as it was
then understood. Fundamentally, terrorists were seen as rational calculators of self
interest. Like guerrillas and sovereign states, these traditional terrorists used violence
as a political tool, in a manner calculated to draw support for their cause. (Segaller,
1986). As such, they were bound by political restraints. When one seeks to influence
an audience, it is imperative that the audience survive the performance. Such practical
constraints kept terrorists of the past from seriously contemplating the use of
weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

The devil is a supernatural being thought of by Christians as an entity of pure evil.
However, there is no evidence proving the existence of the devil, but there are
certainly testimonials of people who have claimed to see Hell. So lets
hypothetically say that the devil is real. That would mean that the horrifying
testimonials are actually true, which may lead one to wonder why people call
themselves Satanist. Contrary to what one might think, Satanist do not actually
believe that the devil is something of pure evil, nor do they view him as an actual

Even though structurally Satanists just like Protestants, were essentially a protest or
a rebellion against the Roman Catholic Church (Shirley 1). This doesn t mean that
Satanist and Protestants share the same beliefs, because they are completely
different; instead, it proves that both of the religions is a example of rebellion
There are many ways to rebel of course, but what seem to be on the news are
murders . A recent high school dropout named Jose Reyes was on the news
February 11th of this year. Jose was a high school dropout out who was using drugs
such as marijuana. From the start, Jose separated himself from all of his friends at
school, which is a very antisocial thing to do. It is a proven fact that Satanic
involvement is linked to antisocial behavior (Swatos 161). However, before he
dropped out, he already showed signs of rebellion. Another younger girl claims that
Jose Reyes attacked her, and raped her (lodhia 1). If Jose s parents would have
stepped in at that point, it would have prevented the second crime from occurring.
Sadly, the parents negligence of their own child only set the stage for what was about
to happen. Jose Reyes killed a fifteen year old girl with a buddy of his to sell his soul

end of it all an upside down cross was carved in her abdomen (Spellman 1). Jose

30. Theme Of Absurdism In Waiting For Godot
Theatre of the absurd is one of the prominent schools of drama which flourished
during the twentieth century. Absurd plays usually convey the believe that human
existence is pointless and life is irrational, meaningless, and futile. Therefore, they
illustrate humanity s correspondence to the absurdity of the world especially after
the two destructive world wars. Although people struggle to give life meaning, their
inability to find any led them to experience anxiety and confusion. As a result, people
started to doubt religion, question the existence of God, and suffer from weak faith.
Samuel Buckett s play Waiting for Godotdeals with several themes that highlights the
absurdity of human conditions. The play starts with Nothing to be done .... Show

While language has a great importance for human beings, absurdists believe that
language is meaningless and useless. Beckett uses some techniques to emphasize this
idea. First, the repetition of words and phrases makes the language sounds
incomprehensible. Vladimir and Estragon repeat the dialog and sometimes reversed,
but sill it has no meaning. Secondly, since people are isolated and cut from each
other, they cannot establish meaningful conversations. Accordingly, Vladimir and
Estragon cannot understanding each other when they have a conversation. They are
just speaking to fill their time while waiting. Language fragmentation adds one more
level of absurdity to the paly. For example, Lucky s long eloquent speech is
fragmented and does not carry any

3.4 SSSC Controller
The controller for the SSSC can be isolated, generally, into two main controllers,
namely internal and external controllers. The main function of the internal controller
is to give the control signal to drive the gate pattern generator of the power converter
keeping in mind to generate a fundamental output voltage waveform with the desired
magnitude and phase angle in synchronism with the ac power system. The function
of the external controller, if exists, is to alter the reference signals which decides the
practical operation of the SSSC so as to accomplish the desired system performance.
The block diagram of the SSSC controller is represented in Figure 3.13.
A measurement block is utilized to get the vital variables to be handled in the control
procedure. The computation of the infused reactance is accomplished by separating
the infused voltage by the line current (rms values). The computed infused reactance
is then contrasted with the altered reference reactance (the sum of the reference

34. Female Sexuality Desire in Chopin s The Storm Essays
Female Sexuality Desire in Chopin s The Storm In Kate Chopin s time traditional
patriarchal notions about women and sexuality deemed sexual passion a negligible,
even improper, aspect of women s lives. Yet Chopin boldly addresses a woman s
sexual desire in her short story The Storm . This story shockingly details a torrid
extramarital sexual encounter between Calixta and Alcee` in the midst of a raging
storm. While this story line could have been presented in a traditional light, perhaps
as a lesson about the evils of uninhibited female sexuality, Chopin maintains a non
judgmental stance by refraining from moralizing about the sanctity of marriage or
impropriety of Calixta s actions. In failing to condemn and even... Show more content

The brief description of the brewing storm and the close, humid heat emanating
from and surrounding Calixta establish an almost palpable sensuality early in the
story. This conceit of the storm continues throughout much of the story with the
storm s crescendo symbolizing a climax in Calixta and Alcee` s sexual encounter.
At first, the obvious desire between the pair is sublimated into a nervous tension,
and the effort to restrain their physical longing for the sake of social mores is
paramount. Calixta exclaims, If this keeps up, Dieu sait if the levees goin to stan it,
which is symbolically indicative of the growing force of their passion and the
weakening of their resistance before that passion. A blinding bolt of lightening
breaks the lovers nervous tension, much as it splits through the air and strikes the
chinaberry tree. This violent crash precipitates Calixta and Alcee` s first embrace
and kiss, and the affair that ensues vividly matches the progress of the raging storm.
The storm reaches a crescendo, which Calixta views as a delightful counterpart to
their passionate love making, for, they did not heed the crashing torrents, and the roar
of the elements made her laugh as she lay in his arms (284). To make the parallel
between the storm and Alcee and Calixta s affair particularly evident, Chopin
consistently uses this conceit until the end of the encounter, for the thunder

36. God And The Holy Spirit
God has revealed himself in many different ways throughout Christian faith.
Centuries ago, he gave Christians insights in ways they could understand and can
be used with common every day activities and chores. He has let the people see
him through his divine creations. Christians can see God at church weekly when he
comes through the priest. Another way to see God daily is when someone prays
and ask for his forgiveness, strength, and love. No one can see God, but he can be
seen through in his works when he sent the grace of the Holy Spiritto the world.
Christian faith is about trusting God, and God is with someone through the
satisfactory days and the deceitful days. His revelation relates to the theological
sources humanity can rely upon to know the truth.
God has shown bits and pieces of who he is through prophets, apostles, and Jesus.
God would reveal himself in ways each person could understand. This helped the
chosen people to describe God in the scriptures. Jesus talked in parables so his
followers and/or people who would be a by stander could comprehend what he was
preaching about. Today, God talks to Christians through the priest of the Catholic
Church during mass or any other Christian mass. God is also there during the
Eucharist when Catholics receive his body and blood.
So what is revelation as it pertains to God? It is how God reveals himself each and
every day. God reveals himself through the beauty of nature. God can show himself in

sinners and innocents alike, if only we would accept God into our hearts. But how
true is that statement? While God is the creator of all people, and the Israelites are
supposed to be his chosen people, God does not act as such in the Bible. Rather than
being interested in humanity in general, or even the Israelitesspecifically, God is
primarily interested in certain individuals. These works suggest that even God has
favorites. From Abraham to Mosesto David, and all those heroes of the Bible, God
preserves the peoples from which he derives these favored individuals. In these

As soon as Adam and Eve disobey God, he bans them from the garden of Eden.
God drives out man and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim
and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life and
to the entrance to the garden of Eden (Genesis 3:24). These people may have been
cared for by God, but by disobeying him, they lose God s favor, showing that it was
only favor that Adam and Eve had to begin with. Even the Israelites, God s chosen
people, are only briefly in God s favor, and that is not as a result of any inherent
interest in this group of people, but rather because the majority of God s favorite
individuals arise from this group. The people of Israel were overcome by the
Egyptians and the Egyptians thus set taskmasters over them to afflict them with
heavy burdens (Exodus 1:11). The Israelites groaned because of their slavery and
cried out for help and only then God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with
Isaac, and with Jacob (Exodus 2:23; Exodus 2:24). God had forgotten about the
people he promised to provide prosperity for in the future. In addition, God does not

the previous generations, i.e. Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Furthermore, rather than
choosing to then save all of the Israelites with the power God obviously

40. Why Gangs Are Built Through A Process Of Selection Essay
Gangs are built through a process of selective recruitment, based on a foundation of
trust. Trust is gained through activities that reveal the recruits level of discipline,
strength, and vulnerability. Potential gang members are typically chosen, although
some choose the gang life. Nevertheless, both are typically seeking to fulfill a need
to belong and make money, while obtaining security and familiarity. This slippery
slope usually leads to death or jail, although Christ can set gangmembers free.
Gangs
The presence of gangs is an ongoing issue amongst a growing population of
individuals who are often recruited, appearing to have a desire to belong, generate
money, and obtain a sense of security. The gang life is often a dangerous slippery
slope that leads to a lifetime of criminal activity or simply increases the already
existing criminal behavior in the gang member. For some, there remains a hope for
conversion.
Recruitment Selection begins
Recruitment of gang members occurs through a process of selection (Densley, 2012,
p. 302). Selection is a key component in recruitment, completed through the
observation of various risk factors revealed in daily interactions in the lives of
potential gang members (Densley, 2012, pp. 302, 308). Recruiters are known to
watch for durability and strength in those whom they believe may be beneficial to
the gang (Densley, 2012, p. 302). The proof of strength is often detected through
tests, which gang recruits may know of

many of us take this to true yet here in the 21 century we still allow this. Ethnicity

the U.S. Current Population Survey and the National Committee on Pay Equity. The
unemployment rate for African Americans is typically at about twice that of
Caucasians whom also have many substantial advantages at work. They are offered a
substantially larger variety of job opportunities and positions that earn more money
and have more power. This form of inequality exists in both gender and race. Though
the pay gap has been reduced drastically within the last few years, it still remains a
very common form of inequality
I believe value is something only an individual can assign to their own life based
on experience and significance. A life is t an object you can place a price on, it s a
complex network full of experiences good and bad shared with others. Everyone on
this planet has value not just to themselves but to others as well but that value is
higher than any amount of money existing. Everyones life has an effect on the

United States during the last years of the Nineteenth century (Hemenway). In
1863, Eatonville was one of the first all black towns to be chartered after the

Eatonville was lost after the death of her mother in 1904, which led the young Zora

44. Jim Jones Essay
The mass suicides, that took place under the influence of Reverend Jim Jones, can
be explained from a sociological perspective. By looking at how the group
dynamics played into the outcome one gets a better idea of the whys? of the
massacre. The sociological explanation is but one way to explain this horrific
event. It is , however, the only one explored in this essay for reasons of concision.
At one level, the deaths at Jonestown can be viewed as the product of obedience, of
people complying with the orders of a leader and reacting to the threat of force. In the

Secondly, Hong Kong offered an open and friendly investment policy. It played a role
of market regulator with less government intervention rather than market participant
with more intervention. For example, Hong Kong did not impose regulation on
working hours and terms of contracts, and it only regulated the statutory minimum
wages per hours for labours (Hong Kong business forecast report 2015).Thus, the
labour costs in Hong Kong are flexible and company has more rights on contract
when hire employees. Moreover, government allowed foreign investors to legally
acquire the ownership of property in most industrial sectors except for broadcasting
industry (Country profile 2015) and to freely select investment area without
restriction. Furthermore, government optimized the procedures of business
registration, and it helped investors save time from application process. Besides, there
is no different treatment between local investors and foreign investors. Government
set the same business regulation to the same industry. Thus, foreign investors have
equal chance to compete with local investors.
In addition, Hong Kong had simple and low tax regime . Company only need to pay
the tax amount based on their revenue earned in Hong Kong, and they did not need
to pay sales tax, capital gain tax and withholding tax on dividends (InvestHK 2016).
These tax exemptions would obviously reduce tax expense of the company.

46. Cellphones Today ( Benefits And Detriments )
Introduction: Cellphones Today (Benefits and Detriments). Cell phones, which
happen to be one of the greatest technological inventions of the 20th century has
become one of the addictions in the world. This obsession/addiction stems from the
technological and social capabilities of cellphones; ranging from the messaging
system, the ease of calling because of its portability, the apps that could be
downloaded to it, games, and all other capabilities. Apart from the calling and text
messaging abilities of mobile pones, they also have apps Facebook, instagram,
snapchat, YouTube, twitter, Skype. No wonder it has the potential of being addicting.
Although cell phones are also presently used to make communication easier and

A recent study by the pew research center in 2014 found that 30% percent of
people aged 18 29 have used their phone to avoid social interaction with people
(Pew Report, 2010). The health effects of cellphone abuse includes eye problem as
a result of staring at the phone screen for a long period of time, cancer, as a result
of the radiofrequency emission of energy from the phone, and all other health
issues (Volkow et al., 2011). Mentally, the overuse of cellphones has been seen to
result into problems like social anxiety, insomnia, and among students the inability
to fully concentrate on academics (Acharya, et al., 2013). A recent study done at
Baylor and Seton Hall universities evaluated cellphone, text messaging and instant
messaging among students. This study showed that the average college student
checks their cellphone about 60 times a day, spends an average of 9 hours on their
phones everyday sends and gets text messages about 109.5 times a day (Roberts
Pirog, 2013). These rates are alarming and could lead to lack of concentration in
academics. The lack of concentration as a result of cellphone overuse among students
leads to things like procrastination as a result of them not knowing what to focus on
for readings, assignments, and essays. This could in turn lead to poor academic
performance and frustration as a result of them not knowing how
47. How Did Thomas Jefferson Influence Architecture
Among the three categories of colonial time architects in America, Thomas Jefferson,
as previously mentioned, was a gentleman amateur . Yet he was a professional
amateur. Besides his perfectionism like Palladio, his taste was another key element
that allowed him to reach a professional level of being. Although we, as audience
today, may read him as an architectwith a political intention, most likely Jefferson
chose Roman style just because of his taste. Taste is a direct, personal and
discriminate impression that is embedded in our background and motivates us to
decide likeness and unlikeness unconsciously. We are capable of immediate
appreciation, of a spontaneous emotional response, of rejecting things in a flash. In
Jefferson s case, he embraced Roman scared architecturestyle and rejected British
Gothic style since his unconscious mind believed in Roman cultural and political
aspects more than the British one. The majority of architects don t learn... Show more

Moreover, it is valuable to be up to date because it leads architecture toward the
future. Many architecture pieces after Thomas Jefferson was inspired by Jeffersonian.
Some examples were directly influenced by Jeffersonian were several university
buildings like Grand Auditorium in Tsinghua University in Beijing, Peabody College
in Vanderbilt University in Tenseness or Various buildings, University of Mary
Washington, etc. Also, a successful design genre could influence architects later on to
combine it with another styles. Another influential architect Benjamin Henry Latrobe
who led Greek revival around the same time period was a friend of Jefferson. He
embraced British classism and combined it with Jefferson s styles to claim his
opinion of American architecture. American architecture grew more and more
diversely and independently from European classism with architects inventing new

49. The Effects Of Pornography On Men And Women
The following speech focuses on how prolonged exposure to porn affects men and
women, more specifically how it affects the hypothalamus in the male brain. Men
watch more porn than woman so I first hypothesized that this difference in viewing
weakens the hypothalamus and in turn leads to desensitization with the act of natural
sex. I then found scholarly sources to support my overall claims. This speech will
cover the following points: 1.) How Pornographydesensitizes the malebrain. 2.) How
pornography causes its viewers to replicate porn style relationships in own life,
leading to lack of intimacy. (Detachment from reality) 3.) The effects of
pornography have on women 4.) How pornography promotes the objectification of
women. These very small variables play a huge role in weakening the male brain. In
addition, I will briefly touch on why woman aren t effected from an over exposure in
the same manner as their male counter parts. The overall aim of this paper is to reveal
how this phenomenon effects males and why they should take immediate action to
not become a statistic.
Why men shouldn t watch too much porn.
A.One can infer that most men view or have viewed pornography at some point in
their life. According to Dr. Patrick F. Fagan, men are more than six times as likely to
view pornography and spend more time viewing it when compared to females. Most
males first view pornography during adolescence at age 13 and continue watching
through adulthood.

50. The Importance Of Statutes Of Limitations
Statutes of limitations are laws that limit the time that a lawsuit or a criminal case
can be brought against a person. They can be very useful, mostly for the defendant
because it follows the Sixth Amendment, which states, The accused shall enjoy the
right to a speedy and public trial . If the case starts many years later, it is not justified
by the United States Constitution. Statutes of limitations are fair for both plaintiffs
and defendants because they create a level playing field for the plaintiff and the
defendant, completely obliterates the concern of the loss of evidence, and creates
peace of mind.
First of all, statutes of limitations are useful for both plaintiffs and defendants because
they create a level playing field for the plaintiff and defendant. Private Investigators

Over the course of a few years, material evidence can be lost or destroyed.
Witnesses, even eyewitnesses, can become unreliable as their memory fades or
they cannot come forward. This protects both the plaintiff and the defendant. It
makes sure that the proof for if the defendant did it, does not get destroyed or
disappear. It protects the defendant by making sure that witnesses do not falsely
claim that he was the one who did it because they do not remember correctly. In
fact, paragraph 5 of the same article says, Another aspect of fairness concerns the
diminishing value of evidence over time; physical evidence can be lost and
witnesses memories can become unreliable. The Supreme Court of California wrote
in Addison v. State of California (1978) that the primary purpose of statutes of
limitations is to prevent the assertion of stale claims by plaintiffs who have failed to
file their action until evidence is no longer fresh and witnesses are no longer
