Choose an organization according to the following:
· Current employer
· Most recent or former employer
· Place of business that you have patronized or have been familiar with over a long period of time.
· Avoid choosing an organization that is so large that historical data would be difficult to apply. Firms in the Russell 2000® index may fit well, whereas firms in the Dow 30 Industrial index probably do not.
· The organization can be a start-up that you or a significant other may create in the future. For a start-up, focus on an entrepreneurial idea that is of substantive interest, so this project leaves you with a product you may leverage in the future.
Write a 1,000-word (maximum word count) paper in which you address the following:
· Identify the major components of the strategic management process.
· Discuss how these components work together to create value for the organization.
· Evaluate the company's mission statement, vision statement, motivation strategy, innovation strategy, and people strategy. If the organization does not have one or more of these, how does that affect the organization and its people?
· Explain the role of ethics and corporate social responsibility in strategic planning. How does this direct their strategy? How does the organization's vision and mission align with your own values and vision? If you are currently working for the organization, how does your role influence this and vice versa?
Format your paper according to APA guidelines.

Immunization is important to infants as it prevents them from diseases which would be expensive to treat. The benefit of immunization and prevention of infectious diseases among mothers and infants cost-effective healthcare intervention and contribute significantly in reduction of mortality and morbidity in the country (Walls et al. 2018). Immunization also helps the mother to spend less on possible diseases that could affect their children. Prevention of infectious diseases is important to both the victim and other people who might be close to them, including the caregivers. In the maternal and infant population, immunization and infectious diseases continue to be a topic of debate. Averagely, immunization and prevention of infectious diseases has improved. In the United States the rate of immunization has gone up across all races, income groups and ethnicities. Similarities among the races where this special population are located narrowed down.
More so, prevention of diseases is less costly compared to the case where everyone is infected and needs medication. Despite the decreasing disparity, due to vaccination programs such as vaccination for infants, mother and infants from poor families, non-white have low immunization rates than those who were well off and white. Stakeholder Needs
Low compensation for immunization services is a problem for physicians, so the government must ensure that they are reimbursed adequately. Immunizations are too costly for vulnerable populations whose medical insurance does not cover them. Due to the exorbitant expense of these vaccines in private hospitals and pharmacies, these individuals cannot access them. Adult vaccines may also be unavailable due to the inability of the most vulnerable individuals to travel to distant public health centers in quest of vaccinations. For doctors and pharmacists to purchase vaccines from pharmaceutical companies, a large amount of funds is necessary. In addition, they require funding for the purchase of new, high-tech storage facilities, as the preservation of vaccines requires the usage of specific substances. Pharmaceutical businesses need funding for disease-related research and the installation of intricate systems for creating and monitoring vaccinations. In addition, they need cash to purchase huge, specialized storage containers so that vaccines are accessible everywhere. To provide vaccines to the public, health insurance companies require funding to meet the vaccine administration needs of their consumers.
Taking the financial demands of stakeholders into account when making decisions about low adult immunization rates can assist assure optimal vaccine supply and distribution, enhanced following and monitoring requirements, and vaccine availability. Consideration of the requests will result in shared provider contacts and public-private partnerships, which will speed up adult immunization.
Financial Influence
The primary financial stakeholders are pharmaceutical corporations, which conducted the research, developed the vaccines, and brought them to market. The patient's financial situation is gently adjusted despite the moral obligation of pharmaceutical companies to ensure that the market can afford their product; the patient, as the product's recipient, experiences hidden impacts. It is essential to be aware of these elements in order to develop an effective health policy. If the underlying reasons for the problem are not addressed, it is impossible to find a remedy. The role of government is to ensure equality for all citizens while safeguarding commercial interests. Before the government can assist the poor with their health issues, it must decide who controls prices and costs (Chaudhary et al., 2020). During the planning and decision-making process, not only the patient and doctors but also the company must be protected and assisted.
Benefits and Disadvantages

Vaccination Policy for Infectious Disease Prevention and Control
Scope of the Problem
Vaccines have done an excellent job at preventing many diseases, some of which can be deadly if not prevented. When bacteria or viruses enter the body, they immediately begin to attack and multiply, which then causes an infection. The immune system will then fight off the infection and establish antibodies, which will help recognize and fight off the same disease in the future. For this very reason, it has been important for children to be vaccinated at an early age so that they may establish those antibodies their bodies need. Vaccines act as the disease so that the body may produce antibodies, but the good thing is that it won’t cause an infection (CDC, 2017).
There are current policies that mandate vaccinations in the U.S., for example, all children are required to be up to date on their vaccines before beginning school. The problem is that there are many loopholes and exceptions to the rule, whether it’s due to religious reasons or other medical issues. Because of this, there are still many children and adults who have yet to be fully compliant with vaccine requirements
Some important statistics to note (Johns Hopkins Medicine):
· CDC estimated 2,700 new cases of hepatitis A in the U.S.
· It is estimated that in 2011, 19,000 new cases of hepatitis B and 17,000 cases of hepatitis C occurred.
· In 2012, nearly 10,000 new cases of tuberculosis were reported.
· Approximately 36,000 people per year die from influenza and pneumonia.
· 50,000 new cases of HIV infection occur annually.
· In 2012, new cases of STD’s were reported, including HPV, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV, and Syphilis.
Who is affected by this problem? Identify.
Children are mainly affected by this problem due to parents’ hesitancy for vaccinations. Although law mandates for children to be vaccinated for school enrollment, parents have the option to use exemptions to avoid having their children vaccinated. Currently, medical exemptions are allowed for medical reasons in all states, and it is estimated that one to three percent of children are excused from vaccinations because of these exemptions. Parents have continued to use reasons to avoid vaccinations, for example, the belief that the decline in vaccine-preventable diseases is due to improved health care, hygiene, and sanitation (Ventola, C. L., 2016).
Health disparities among Blacks, Hispanics, and Whites have played a huge role in terms of vaccination coverage. Studies have shown that health insurance has a direct impact on the vaccination coverage in adults, therefore, low-income families who can’t afford health insurance will most likely not get the vaccines they need. With that being said, uninsured prevalence was higher among non-Hispanic blacks (19.5%) and Hispanics (30.1%) compared with non-Hispanic whites (11.1%) (Lu, P., et al, 2015).

Along these lines, your use of scholarly sources works well as evidence, particularly when you bring in outside sources (beyond the course readings) and then connect them to Wike and Fraser and also the Staples reading. I also appreciate the way you shift in the second half of the paper to some possible solutions, looking beyond just pointing out the shortcomings of zero tolerance policies. Keep doing these things in your writing. If you revise for the portfolio, work on a few things, mostly related to developing your evidence. 1) Sometimes you get in a bit of a hurry and rush through your point, particularly when you’re summarizing your research. How can you slow down and more fully explain the key ideas in your sources, and then connect them to your larger argument? See for example, your use of Wike and Fraser on p. 2. Take another look at the Working with Sources handout. 2) Similarly, how can you make it clear to the reader when you’re using Harris’ journal? You rely on his journal, but be sure to explain why you’re using it and where those quotes come from. 3) See my comment about bringing in some evidence in your refutation. 4) Revise the title for precision and then take another look at the MLA citations Works Cited. HIV/AIDS is one of the many factors that are usually affecting the world. Research shows that a total number of 1.1 million people are living with HIV, and 75% of the population in amerce don’t know that they get infected with the virus (Burkholder & Nash, Special populations in health care, 2013). HIV/AIDS affects people from all genders, races, and ethnic age. Today the most significant population of people living with HIV/AIDS are more affected in terms of Medicare and Medicaid. Healthcare facility though they offer antiretroviral which helps prolong patients with HIV it’s not sufficient enough to a permanent solution.
HIV/AIDS is more severe among the young generation. The youth are more likely to get HIV/AIDS than the old due to so many activities to which they indulge. When it comes to age HIV/AIDs, the young are more like to survive longer if they engage early with the treatment procedure and healthier factor than the old. When the old generation gets infected with HIV/AIDS that creates a crisis in the next generation in terms of survival, those affected are more likely to lose jobs, education, and health care to discrimination and end up relying on aid. The reliance on welfare is more likely to happen among those with HIV/AIDS as well to help mitigate their health condition.
According to research, those populations with HIV/AIDS are more likely to spend most of their incomes on healthcare than other items. HIV/AIDS populations are more like not to get hired on a job due to health issues and risk poverty lines. When a country has a large population of people with HIV/AIDS the country is headed in crisis and is likely to lead under a financial crisis to healthcare management. Infrastructure development and other beneficial programs that might benefit the country are halted to stop epidemic rise of HIV/AIDS in the country. There are no special jobs designed for those with HIV/AIDS, thus forcing the broad population into poverty. To mitigate the income crisis the government and private parties should work together and find way to help create specific jobs and cheap healthcare programs.

Social factors that affect the population with HIV/AIDS. Communities with a higher living among poverty line is more affected with HIV/AIDS than those community among the wealthy status. Those based on the poverty line spend the little they have in healthcare; the more the population is affected by healthcare problems, the likelier infrastructure and development get halted. Those, however, living in wealthy communities they have enough money to pay for healthcare and support infrastructure and other development as well. 55-J-10-2
Having reviewed my initial forum post, with minimal changes, I uphold my views that health equality and health disparities represent one of the most significant challenges facing the health of the global population given its correlation with good health and well-being (goal 3). With that said, I feel it's important to back away from using the terms health equality and health disparities using instead the term health equity. Notably, this change results from research conducted during module seven in which I happened upon the following quote.
Equity is the absence of avoidable or remediable differences among groups of people, whether those groups are defined socially, economically, demographically, or geographically. Health inequities, therefore, involve more than inequality with respect to health determinants, access to the resources needed to improve and maintain health or health outcomes. They also entail a failure to avoid or overcome inequalities that infringe on fairness and human rights norms. (World Health Organization, 2018, para. 1)
Thus, health inequities and health disparities become interchangeable as forms of unjust health differences, which unfavorably affect groups of people.
As such, "equity is the process and equality is the outcome" ("Equity", 2016, para. 2). In other words, "the route to achieving equity will not be accomplished through treating everyone equally. It will be achieved by treating everyone equitably, or justly according to their circumstances" (Dressel, 2014, para, 2). Notably, sustainable development goals one (poverty) and two (hunger) are linked to good health and well-being (goal 3), which in turn correlates with equity (United Nations, 2015). Thus, it's my view that by addressing equity on a global scale, you begin to break down the exasperating challenges associated with poverty, hunger, and good health and well-being.
With that said, the knowledge obtained throughout this course will prove beneficial as I further carve my career pathway in the areas of both public health and community health education as it relates to HIV/AIDS. The latter has been an area of extreme interest since the beginning of the epidemic back in the early 80s, yet that interest intensified ten-fold when, after 25 years of safely navigating the gay culture, I was diagnosed with HIV at the age of 41. Now ten years later, I stand in amazement that the vulnerabilities that led to my diagnosis persist; thus, continue to place the sexual health of today's youth at an increased risk. Subsequently, having completed this course, I feel more prepared to address the increased incidences of HIV within Phoenix's LGBT community.
In closing, I feel confident in suggesting that each chapter of the course textbook has content that's applicable to my field of work at the community level. Notable chapters that helped develop skills include chapters two (Culture, Behavior, and Health), four (Reproductive Health), five (Infectiou.

Topic under Discussion:
The prevention of disease through the use of vaccines and vaccination and fighting misinformation about vaccination.
Names of Participants: American Health Association

Brief Description of The Event: The event was successful and all parties concurred that there was a huge gap to be filled when it comes to vaccination in schools. The AHA and Tennessee County promised sponsorship for the vaccination runs that would happen once every year. The vaccination policy was discussed and its feasibility report was presented (Levin, 2020). All parties pledged their cooperation and Ridge View Elementary fraternity was very pleased with the developments of the event.
Analysis of the Health Policy Issue and Its Implications for Healthcare:
Vaccination is not only a public health issue but is also a policy issue. In numerous states all over the country, it has become very contentious as there has been a polarization in the views and perceptions that people have on vaccination. One school of thought is that vaccination is harmful, especially to toddlers, as it literally introduces a strain to the body in order to allow it to learn how to fight the disease (Vivion et al., 2020). This view is heavily misguided and has been brought about by constant and misconstrued information that is part of misinformation in the country. Vaccines are the best chance that any individual has, adult or child, to fight a disease or virus that is not only communicable but highly infectious. Needless to say, parties who support this view are heavily opposed to the introduction and implementation of policies that would make vaccination mandatory, not only in schools but also in the local and federal governments. On the other hand, there are those that believe in the effectiveness of vaccination despite the minute risk that vaccination brings. Normally, vaccines are effective more often than they are not. This effectiveness is built on by following the number of vaccinations and doing them at the right time. For instance, if a vaccine is to be administered in 2-5 years of age, then it should be administered within this window. This school of thought believes in the tried and tested effectiveness of vaccines (Schaffner et al., 2020). Consequently, parties who support this view suppo.

Place, Date, Time, and Length of Event: The event was scheduled to take place in Ridge View Elementary School on the 17th of January 2020 from 9 am to 1 pm.

Disparity in healthcare can be defined as, “differences between groups in health insurance coverage, access to and use of care, and quality of care” (Orger & Artiga, 2018). There are various healthcare disparities; however, the key areas of disparity I have chosen to identify and analyze include health insurance coverage, quality of care, and gender. As most people already know, health insurance is a type of insurance coverage that is designed to cover an insured person’s medical expenses (such as hospital, doctor, laboratory and pharmacy services). Although the number of uninsured Americans have decreased drastically since the passing of ACA, disparities in this area still exist. Some individuals’ annual incomes still are not enough to pay the low premiums that may be required of them to have access to health insurance coverage.
Quality of care can be described as, “the degree to which health care services for individuals and populations increase the likelihood of desired health outcomes and are consistent with current professional knowledge” (AHRQ, 2017). Although it is an unethical act displayed by healthcare professionals; in some areas, all patients are not treated equally with regards to quality of care. According to Dr. Ananya Mandal (2019), discrimination occurs when healthcare providers treat individuals from certain population groups differently to other population groups, whether this is done consciously or not. It is common for this to occur when providers have stereotyped impressions of specific racial or ethnic groups.
Gender can play a major role in healthcare disparities among women, specifically, in some of the developed countries. Researchers have reported that determinants of gender differences, like welfare indicators (e.g., education and income), behavioral factors (e.g., smoking and drinking), and social factors (e.g., social support and socioeconomic status) have direct correlations with some of the existing disparities (Hassanzadeh, et al, 2017). Afghanistan is a country that still has a high rate of gender disparities among women, even though some improvements have occurred. In this country, the biggest disparities that I feel still exist are between women in rural versus urban areas, and those with some education, as opposed to those women with none; showing that as education of women increases, so does their health and that of their children because of the education and resources that they have.
I think several economic policies have impacted these disparities and they include differences in income levels, education, and geographic location. A person’s annual income may have a direct effect on his or her ability.

PICOT Statement: Childhood Obesity
Introduction
Childhood obesity is one of the emerging health problems that affect the American population. This disorder places children at a higher risk of suffering from preventable non-communicable chronic diseases, such as Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and asthma (McGrath, 2017). Other challenges that affect children as a result of this disease include depression and sleep apnea. Obese children are often predisposed to become obese adults who suffer from many chronic diseases related to increased mortality rate of 40 percent. Obese children and adolescents tend to have more adverse health challenges compared to the counterparts with normal BMI. The task of addressing the chronic conditions related to childhood obesity is normally costly, with approximately $14 billion price tag and increasing (McGrath, 2017). Survey reports released by government agencies such as the National Conference of State Legislature, the total cost of obesity-associated nears $150 billion yearly, with taxpayers covering approximately sixty billion dollars. There is need to identify patterns that related to childhood obesity for professionals to seek better ways to address them. This PICOT statement evaluates childhood obesity in the United States.
PICOT Statement
Population
Childhood obesity is a major health concern in the United States and other parts of the world since the disease is increasing. In the US, obesity prevalence is highest among children aged from 6 to 11 years (Cheung et al. 2016). The disease has tripled among this age group from 4.2 percent to 15.3 percent from 1963 to 2012. In 2013, 16 percent of children in the country were categorized as obese. The prevalence was highest at ages of 12 to 19 years and lowest at ages of 2 to 5 years. In the last three decades, increased cases of obesity prevalence have been noted among children of all ages, although the differences in obesity prevalence have been recorded in terms of age, race, ethnicity, and gender (Cheung et al. 2016). In this respect, children from socioeconomically disadvantaged families and some racial and ethnic minorities experience the higher median score on obesity than the dominant white population. Higher obesity rates are often recorded among blacks and Hispanics compared to whites. For instance, a survey on girls in the Southwest revealed that the yearly cases of obesity stood at 4.5 percent among Blacks, 2 percent among Hispanics, and 0.7 percent among white girls aged from 13 to 17 years (Cheung et al. 2016). For low-income earners, American Indians rank highest at 6.3 percent, followed closely by Hispanics at 5.5 percent.
Intervention
Evidence-based interventions that seek to reduce childhood obesity incidences in the country should target two major areas: prevention and treatment. High-quality RCT has been proven as one of the most effective preventative intervention, especially ...

Major Health Care Problems in the US
Problem statement: High and continuously rising cost of health care has been and still is one of
the biggest challenges affecting the Health Care system in United States.
Methods of Examining the Problem
Both qualitative and quantitative research methods should be used to fully understand the
issue of high cost of care in the US. Quantitative methods like surveys and experimentations will
aid in estimating the prevalence, magnitude and frequency of the problem in different regions.
On the other hand, qualitative methods like case studies and observation will help describe the
extent and complexity of the issue. The two approaches need to work in complementation to
obtain a clear understanding of this menace.
Surveys, as a quantitative research method, is one of the most effective in the social
research and present a more viable method of examining the cost of health in the country. They
involve asking of questions in the form of questionnaires and interviews. Questionnaires are
written questions to which the response can be open ended or multiple-choice format. This
would be used to gain information about cost within determinants that are of
disagree/neutral/agree nature. An example is if patients are contented with the cost of services
they get or they deem the cost of cover worthy. Interviews, the researcher discussing issues with
the respondents, are to be used to gain more details on already known aspects of the system. This
may include gathering information to inform policies, administration and use of technology to
minimize the cost of care.
Since health cost in the US is not a new challenge and there have been studies about it,

A tremendous need exists to engage hard-to-reach populations in HIV/AIDS care. That’s because numerous factors prevent people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA)—especially disadvantaged and disproportionately affected populations—from engaging in care or remaining in care.
This Webcast introduces providers to several successful strategies for reaching the most vulnerable populations:
Howell Strauss, DMD, AIDS Care Group, discusses traditional street outreach, as well as his involvement with both the SPNS Oral Health Initiative and the SPNS Jail Initiative.
Lisa Hightow-Weidman, MD, MPH, Department of Infectious Diseases University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, shares best practices in social marketing outreach in the context of her work as a SPNS Young Men who Have Sex with Men of Color Initiative grantee.

Abstract
Maternal, infant health is very essential for the progress of any country since they form the pillar of our future generations. United States has made significant strides towards securing the maternal and child health through various initiatives and programs within the country and around the globe. Despite the existence of health care initiatives to promote maternal, infant and child health, maternal and infant mortalities are still recorded on a daily basis in the U.S. Risk factors to maternal, infant and child mortalities include poor and a lack of a antenatal care attendance, unskilled birth attendants,ce and childhood illnesses. More than a quarter of every single maternal mortality is because of postpartum hemorrhaginge, for the most part after labor.
Infant mortality is another prevalent case that contributes to the worsening situation in child and maternal health, because of untimely births represent more than a quarter of infant mortalities, trailed by mortalities during births and neonatal sepsis. Maternal and child health (MCH) programs concentrate on medical problems concerning related to mothers, children, and families – such as , for example, access to suitable pre-natal and child welfare services, baby mortality mitigation initiatives, emergency medical services, prevention of injuries, infant screening, and administrations to kidschildren children with unique health care needs. The United States is working to prevent maternal deaths, infant mortalities, and child mortalities, and to reduce the prevalence of these incidences. It calls for a multidisciplinary approach in order to eliminate this issue affecting the mothers and children. Reinforcing referral systems and linkages between various levels of hospital-based patient care, and between healthcare organizations providers and the general population, must be a top needpriority.

Review the Healthy People 2020 objectives for the older adult. Of the objectives listed for the older adult, which do you feel is most important? Be sure to include examples and references to support your response.
Objective: Increase the proportion of older adults with one or more chronic health conditions who report confidence in managing their conditions
(Healthy People 2020).
Chronic conditions may be difficult to manage based on the complexities of a disease. Additionally, managing one or more chronic conditions may be time consuming. Time consuming tasks may take the form of monitoring (e.g. checking blood glucose), keeping a diary, scheduling appointments, sorting and taking medications, exercising, meal planning, etc.. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (2015) suggests the burden of these tasks significantly impact how patients manage their chronic conditions, and that patients often find it difficult to complete all these tasks in order to manage their condition effectively. Personally, I see examples of this every day at the hospital: Patients are not confident in their self-management ability and are therefore unable to demonstrate skill or awareness in regards to their condition. Despite receiving adequate medical attention from outstanding multidisciplinary teams, patients continue to show little interest in self-management, ultimately resulting in an overwhelming number of older adults who lack the confidence to manage one or more chronic conditions (Bodenheimer, 2005). Healthcare providers are being forced to seek new and innovative ways to connect with patients and reinforce educational material in order to give patients the confidence and skill to manage their care. I believe this objective to be most important because self-management is clinically proven to result in better outcomes. It is proven that support for patients and caregivers improve confidence in managing conditions. Recently, my hospital has added to its emphasis on education and follow up... Simply providing information to patients is not enough to build confidence, skill, nor the knowledge to manage their health. Therefore, nursing must collaborate to reinforce behaviors and promote better health outcomes in patients.
There are several vulnerable populations that have a chronic illness (older; homeless; and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender populations) that face challenges when it comes to care. Choose one vulnerable population and discuss what can be done to help alleviate these challenges.
Based on recent events that have transpired in the news, one might acknowledge that refugees and immigrants are a vulnerable population... many of whom are struggling with chronic illness, and undeniably experiencing challenges related to our healthcare delivery system. Several barriers exist for this group, including language and technology barriers, expectations of medical care, cultural differences, as well as unique ...

Option 1: Imperialism
The exploitation of colonial resources and indigenous labor was one of the key elements in the success of imperialism. Such exploitation was a result of the prevalent ethnocentrism of the time and was justified by the unscientific concept of social Darwinism, which praised the characteristics of white Europeans and inaccurately ascribed negative characteristics to indigenous peoples. A famous poem of the time by Rudyard Kipling, "White Man's Burden," called on imperial powers, and particularly the U.S., at whom the poem was directed, to take up the mission of civilizing these "savage" peoples.

As the World shut itself down in March 2020, it makes us all aware that we can change behavior globally and as a matter of will. In the U.S., people began to quarantine themselves ahead of government action more often than as a result of government mandates. Write a cohesive 1-2 page single-spaced document that answers the following questions.

According to this idea that gender is socially constructed, answer the following questions:
1. What does it mean to be a man in the U.S.? What does it mean to be a woman?
2. From what institutions do we learn these gender roles?
3. How do these clips demonstrate the ways in which gender is socially constructed in the U.S.? Do the concepts discussed in the clips resonate with you? Why or why not?
In Persepolis, the main character Marji struggles to define her identity as an Iranian woman in a changing society.
· What roles are depicted for women in Iranian society in the film? How do they change over time?
· How does Persepolis demonstrate the ways in which gender and identity are influenced in many ways, by different processes across cultures? How are gender roles in Iran similar, or different to gender in the U.S.?
· What are some of the stereotypes that exist about Muslim women and how does Abu-Lughod in “Do Muslim Women Need Saving” and Persepolis complicate these stereotypes?

Since health cost in the US is not a new challenge and there have been studies about it,
qualitative methods like .

Option 1 ImperialismThe exploitation of colonial resources.docxmccormicknadine86

After reading the poem, address the following in a case study analysis:
Select a specific part of the world (a country), and examine imperialism in that country. What was the relationship between the invading country and the native people? You can select from these examples or choose your own:
Belgium & Africa
Britain & India
Germany & Africa
France & Africa
Apply social Darwinism to this specific case.
Analyze the motivations of the invading country?
How did ethnocentrism manifest in their interactions?
How does Kipling's poem apply to your specific example? You can quote lines for comparison.

As the World shut itself down in March 2020, it makes us all aware that we can change behavior globally and as a matter of will. In the U.S., people began to quarantine themselves ahead of government action more often than as a result of government mandates. Write a cohesive 1-2 page single-spaced document that answers the following questions.

Reflecting on the profound changes we have all seen in the past year, how does that change your views regarding what might be possible with regard to energy use, carbon reductions, or other major transformations that might be needed to impact the type of climate change Earth has been experiencing.
2b. Reflect on the type of transformations that would be involved to address global warming. Now that you have seen the recent major transformations, does this make you believe that global warming threats can prompt the type of major economic and industrial changes needed to reduce the impacts that have been anticipated with increasing climate changes?
2c. What are the "experts" saying about the possibility of these transformations in light of what they have seen during the pandemic? Are researchers more or less optimistic about our global ability to reduce green house gases and control climate change after seeing the impact of the pandemic? Revisiting the Stanford Prison Experiment: a Lesson in the Power of Situation
~~~~~~~~
BY THE 1970s, psychologists had done a series of studies establishing the social power of groups. They showed, for example, that groups of strangers could persuade people to believe statements that were obviously false. Psychologists had also found that research participants were often willing to obey authority figures even when doing so violated their personal beliefs. The Yale studies by Stanley Milgram in 1963 demonstrated that a majority of ordinary citizens would continually shock an innocent man, even up to near-lethal levels, if commanded to do so by someone acting as an authority. The "authority" figure in this case was merely a high-school biology teacher who wore a lab coat and acted in an official manner. The majority of people shocked their victims over and over again despite increasingly desperate pleas to stop.
In my own work, I wanted to explore the fictional notion from William Golding's Lord of the Flies about the power of anonymity to unleash violent behavior. In one experiment from 1969, female students who were made to feel anonymous and given permission for aggression became significantly more hostile than students with their identities intact. Those and a host of other social-psychological studies were showing that human nature was more pliable than previously imagined and more responsive to situational pressures than we cared to acknowledge. In sum, these studies challenged the sacrosanct view that inner determinants of behavior--personality traits, morality, and religious upbringing--directed good people down righteous paths.
Missing from the body of social-science research at the time was the direct confrontation of good versus evil, of good people pitted against the forces inherent in bad situations. It was evident from everyday life that smart people made dumb decisions when they were engaged in mindless groupthink, as in the disastrous Bay of Pigs invasion by the smart guys in President John F. Kennedy's cabinet. It was also clear that smart people surrounding President Richard M. Nixon, like Henry A. Kissinger and Robert S. Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
Choose an organization according to the following· Current empl.docx
1. Choose an organization according to the following:
· Current employer
· Most recent or former employer
· Place of business that you have patronized or have been
familiar with over a long period of time.
· Avoid choosing an organization that is so large that historical
data would be difficult to apply. Firms in the Russell
2000® index may fit well, whereas firms in the Dow 30
Industrial index probably do not.
· The organization can be a start-up that you or a significant
other may create in the future. For a start-up, focus on an
entrepreneurial idea that is of substantive interest, so this
project leaves you with a product you may leverage in the
future.
Write a 1,000-word (maximum word count) paper in which you
address the following:
· Identify the major components of the strategic management
process.
· Discuss how these components work together to create value
for the organization.
· Evaluate the company's mission statement, vision statement,
motivation strategy, innovation strategy, and people strategy. If
the organization does not have one or more of these, how does
that affect the organization and its people?
· Explain the role of ethics and corporate social responsibility
in strategic planning. How does this direct their strategy? How
does the organization's vision and mission align with your own
values and vision? If you are currently working for the
organization, how does your role influence this and vice
versa?
Format your paper according to APA guidelines.
Immunization is important to infants as it prevents them from
diseases which would be expensive to treat. The benefit of
immunization and prevention of infectious diseases among
mothers and infants cost-effective healthcare intervention and
contribute significantly in reduction of mortality and morbidity
in the country (Walls et al. 2018). Immunization also helps the
mother to spend less on possible diseases that could affect their
children. Prevention of infectious diseases is important to both
the victim and other people who might be close to them,
including the caregivers. In the maternal and infant population,
immunization and infectious diseases continue to be a topic of
debate. Averagely, immunization and prevention of infectious
diseases has improved. In the United States the rate of
immunization has gone up across all races, income groups and
ethnicities. Similarities among the races where this special
population are located narrowed down.
More so, prevention of diseases is less costly compared to the
case where everyone is infected and needs medication. Despite
the decreasing disparity, due to vaccination programs such as
vaccination for infants, mother and infants from poor families,
non-white have low immunization rates than those who were
well off and white. Similarly, there are cost barriers whereby
infants of low socioeconomic status continue to be less likely to
access care services compared to those from a more well off
families (Munday et al. 2018). There is a large number of
patients who are not insured and are not recognized by
3. Medicaid. Most of these people come from non-white
population and it is hard to receive preventable services for
infectious diseases. There might be hospitals but this population
does not have enough money to pay for immunization services.
More so, the level of education is important, most of them have
a low level of education and ads such might not think that it is
important to receive immunization. Conclusively, Infants or
maternal infectious or communicable diseases are among the
most beneficial healthcare interventions in the United States
and generally the whole world.
