From my preliminary task to the final magazine product, I learned how to better use my camera equipment and manage lighting and backdrops. I also improved at managing human resources like models, having to find someone specifically fitting for an indie pop magazine. Time management was more important for the final product, allowing for retakes if needed. My creative decisions changed significantly from the preliminary task, requiring audience research on indie pop genres. Problem solving for image editing was needed due to my model's frizzy hair not cutting out cleanly. Props like a guitar and costumes like a bright Hawaiian shirt helped achieve the indie pop aesthetic.

- 2. changes to the main image ■ I changed my June magazine cover image, I tried the original plan I had fir the image, a family standing outside the front door of their house. However, once I had used the photo, I felt it wasn’t conveying the meaning I wanted. I then took a few different photos all surrounding covid and staying inside and chose an image of a woman in a window, looking out and waiting to be able to go out into the outside world.
- 3. Changes to the main cover line ■ In my April edition, I was originally going to use the cover line- “how one virus put the world into lockdown”, I have now changed it to “stay home/ save lives/ protect the NHS” which was the ‘slogan’ for the lockdown. I feel it is more fitting, and it is important to enforce the same message.The additional coverlines will link more to my original cover line.
- 4. Changes to my house style ■ I changed my house style from maroon red and navy blue to an orange and grey.The reason for this was that in my June cover of my magazine I was using a black and white main image, I wanted to use colours that complemented grey, and I chose orange. I feel it appeals to a younger audience, it is bright and attention grabbing. ■ I also changed the font of the cover lines, I was using Calibri body, I am now using load and clear, it gives a deteriorated effect, which matches the bricks, which can be seen in both main images.
