A food web shows the multiple interactions between organisms as energy and materials circulate within an ecosystem. It consists of producers, herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, and decomposers that are interconnected through food chains. A food web starts with producers and progresses through herbivores, carnivores and omnivores before ending with decomposers that break down waste and cycle nutrients back into the system.
