2. WHAT IS MENTAL HEALTH
Mental health is a state of well-being in which the individual
realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses
of life can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a
contribution to his or her community.

3. CHILD MENTAL HEALTH
Being mentally healthy during childhood means reaching
developmental and emotional milestones and learning healthy
social skills and how to cope when there are problems. Mentally
healthy children have a positive quality of life and can function
well at home in school, and in their communities.

4. CHILD MENTAL DISORDER
Among the more mental disorder that can be diagnosed in
childhood are attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD),
anxiety (fears or worries), and behavior disorder. Other examples
Conduct disorder(CD), obsessive compulsive disorder(OCD).

5. HOW MENTAL DISORDER AFFECT
CHLDREN
Generally defined as delays or disruptions in developing age
appropriate thinking, behaviors, social skills or regulation of
emotions. These problems are distressing to children and disrupt
their ability to function well at home, in school or in other social
situation.

SYMPTOMS
• Persistent sadness-two or more weeks.
• Withdrawing from or avoiding social interaction.
• Talking about death or suicide.
• Out bursts or extreme irritability.
• Out of control behavior that can be harmful.

7. CHILD MENTAL DISORDER TREATMENT
Behavior therapy teaches children and their families how to
strength positive child behavior and eliminate or reduce unwanted
or problem behaviors. One type is parent training in behavior
management. The therapist works with parent to learn or improve
skills to manage their child behavior.

8. ADULTHOOD MENTAL DISORDER
Moods disorders anxiety disorders, and psychotic are adverse
group of adult mental disorder that are highly disabling and are
caused by a complex interaction of genetic, developmental and
environmental risk factors.

9. HOW DOES MENTAL ILLNESS AFFECT
ADULTHOOD
Teenagers with psychiatric disorder had six times highly odds of
having at health. Legal, financial and social problems as adult,
those with milder symptoms were three times more likely to have
problems as adult.

AFFECT ADULTHOOD
Higher rate of depression, suicide, anxiety, post traumatic adults
who experienced childhood maltreatment. Traumatic childhood
events also contribute to increased drug use and dependance.
