The document discusses the politics of e-learning standardization. It argues that unlike social science disciplines, e-learning standards are generally seen as neutral artifacts rather than social constructions that embody specific interests. The document surveys how standards can be understood as enabling uniformity, objectivity, and justice. While standards aim to make actions comparable over time and space, education is profoundly local and contextual, resisting rationalization through standardized content and processes.
This document discusses amending the US Constitution and the balance of power between the president and Congress. It outlines two steps for amending the Constitution - proposing amendments through Congress or a constitutional convention, and then ratifying through state legislatures or conventions. For amending, the main difference between using legislatures or conventions is whether representatives or the people directly vote. The document also notes that the main source of conflict between the president and Congress is differing political parties, and that recent presidents have gained power through executive agreements and aggressively requesting legislation.
The document defines prepositions as words that relate nouns or pronouns to the rest of a sentence. It provides examples of how prepositions can indicate time, direction, location, and relationships. Specifically, it gives sample sentences demonstrating the use of common prepositions like before, after, up, down, beside, in front of, with, for, from, and except.

The document outlines a writing program that includes instruction on grammar, narrative writing, persuasive writing, and making movies. It provides resources and examples to teach parts of speech, sentence structure, the writing process, film techniques, and the six traits of writing. Students will learn grammar, write scripts, and storyboard/film three movies - a dialogue, action scene, and commercial. The goal is to develop students' writing and filmmaking skills through hands-on projects.
The document provides examples of combining sentences that contain repeated or shared information. In one example, three sentences about sights seen in a tidal pool are combined into one sentence using a comma to separate items. In another example, three sentences about activities at the beach are combined into one sentence using commas and the word "and". The combined sentences are more concise while retaining the essential information.
