• Paulo Freire,a renowned Brazilian educator and philosopher. He was
born on 19th
September,1921 in a middle class family in March
1934.His father died, due to which he had face financial difficulties.
In 1934 he took admission in university of Recife and studied
philosophy & language psychology. He made his special contribution
in education and delivered education to general public. He died on

may ,1997 due to heart attack in Sao Paulo. His influential work
most notably outline in his seminal book `pedagogy oppressed ‘. He
was the significant educational thinker of 20th
century.

His philosophy is based on the idea that education should challenge learners to examine
power ,structure and inequality ,and to develop critical consciousness. Freire's philosophy includes the
