Transition metal carbonyls form when carbon monoxide bonds to a transition metal through both sigma and pi bonding. This synergistic metal-ligand bonding strengthens the metal-carbon bond. Metal carbonyls can be classified based on the ligands present and the number/structure of metal atoms. They exhibit a variety of reactions including substitution, reactions with halogens, and disproportionation. Metal carbonyls display properties related to their toxicity, magnetic behavior, thermal stability, and thermodynamic instability.
Voltammetry refers to a category of electroanalytical techniques used in analytical chemistry where information about an analyte is obtained by measuring the current as the potential is varied. There are several types of voltammetry including linear sweep voltammetry, cyclic voltammetry, and differential pulse voltammetry. Voltammetry is used to determine concentrations of analytes in a variety of samples including environmental, clinical, food, and pharmaceutical samples. It provides selective, rapid, and sensitive analysis with detection limits in the parts-per-billion or parts-per-trillion range depending on the technique and analyte.
This document provides an introduction to transition metal complexes. It discusses the aqueous chemistry of metal ions, including hydrolysis. Hexaaqua ions form when transition metals dissolve in water and are surrounded by six water molecules in an octahedral structure. Hydrolysis occurs when water molecules attack these complexes, removing protons and forming hydroxide ions. This makes the solution acidic. The document also discusses stability constants, which are equilibrium constants for the formation of complex ions from their constituent parts. Higher stability constants indicate more stable complexes.
The document discusses green chemistry and its importance for sustainability. It defines green chemistry as the design of chemical products and processes to reduce use and generation of hazardous substances. The principles of green chemistry are described, including preventing waste, safer chemicals and products, and renewable feedstocks. Examples are given of more environmentally friendly routes for chemical reactions compared to traditional methods. The document emphasizes that green chemistry education is key to promoting more sustainable development. In conclusion, it is noted that green chemistry aims to prevent pollution and sustain the Earth.
NOMENCLATURE OF ORGANIC COMPOUNDS BY -- KHUSH AHUJAKhushAhuja
This document provides information on the nomenclature of organic compounds according to the IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) system. It discusses the need for systematic naming due to the large number of organic compounds known. The IUPAC system involves identifying the parent hydrocarbon and functional groups to derive systematic names in a standardized manner. Rules are provided for naming saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons, branched chain compounds, cyclic compounds, and compounds containing common functional groups.
The document discusses the discovery and properties of transuranium elements, which are elements heavier than uranium with atomic numbers 93 and above. It describes how each element was first synthesized, usually through bombardment of lighter elements with particles, as well as their chemical and physical properties such as common oxidation states and half-lives. The heaviest elements currently synthesized are livermorium at atomic number 116, but elements from 113 to 118 still require confirmation and all transuranic elements are very radioactive with short half-lives, limiting opportunities for study and application.

Bent's rule describes how the hybridization of central atoms in molecules relates to the electronegativity of substituents. More electronegative elements prefer hybrid orbitals with less s character and more p character, while less electronegative substituents prefer orbitals with more s character. This explains differences in bond lengths and angles compared to ideal values, as bond length decreases and angle decreases with increasing p character directed towards more electronegative substituents. Examples of bent's rule justification include the decreased bond angle in fluoromethane compared to methane due to less s character in the C-F bond.
This document appears to be a literature review for a student named G. Muthu Sankar's M.Sc thesis on relevance to nitrogenase. It summarizes several papers from 1975 and 1995 on nitrogen-element bond formation reactions, including the Chatt cycle for ammonia evolution from nitrogen compounds, protonation reactivity of alkyl halides, diazoalkane and pyrrolidine formation, and limitations on other N-E bond forming reactions, with one paper specifically about nitrogen-silicon bond formation.

This document covers topics related to organic chemistry II, including:
- The general formula and nomenclature of carboxylic acids.
- The preparation of acid chlorides from carboxylic acids and their reactivity. Acid chlorides are more reactive than acids due to the chlorine withdrawing electron density.
- Common reactions of acid chlorides including reduction, Friedel-Crafts acylation, and nucleophilic acyl substitution such as hydrolysis, ammonolysis, and alcoholysis.
Organic chemistry is the study of carbon-based compounds. Organic compounds usually contain carbon-carbon and carbon-hydrogen bonds. Hydrocarbons are the simplest type of organic compound, composed entirely of carbon and hydrogen. Alkanes contain only single bonds, alkenes contain double bonds, and alkynes contain triple bonds.
The document discusses different types of hydrocarbons including alkanes, alkenes, alkynes and cycloalkanes. It provides their general formulas and describes them as saturated or unsaturated. The document also discusses hydrocarbon naming conventions including identifying the functional group, number of carbons, side chains and their positions. Homologous series and structural isomers are introduced. Methods for producing alkenes from alkanes like dehydration of alcohols and dehydrohalogenation of haloalkanes are outlined.
This document discusses chemical and magnetic equivalence in NMR spectroscopy. It defines chemically equivalent nuclei as those that exist in identical chemical environments and will have the same chemical shift. Nuclei are chemically equivalent if they can be interchanged by a symmetry operation of the molecule, such as rotation about an axis of symmetry. Magnetic equivalence requires nuclei to have identical chemical shifts and the same coupling constants with the same coupling partners. While chemically equivalent nuclei may be magnetically non-equivalent, magnetically equivalent nuclei will not show splitting in the NMR spectrum. Conformational changes in molecules can cause nuclei that are chemically non-equivalent at one temperature to appear equivalent at another temperature due to averaging of environments.

The document serves as a guide for protecting and deprotecting carboxylic acid groups in organic synthesis reactions.
This document summarizes the synthesis and characterization of new Schiff base ligands and their metal complexes. It describes the synthesis of five Schiff base ligands derived from substituted benzaldehydes and anilines using the reflux method. Copper and nickel complexes were formed from two of the ligands. The ligands and complexes were characterized using infrared spectroscopy, which showed shifts in the C=N and C-O peaks upon complexation. The research aims to synthesize new Schiff bases and their Cu2+ and Ni2+ complexes and characterize them using IR spectroscopy to determine the coordination sites.
Radiochemical methods use the specific properties of radionuclides for analytical purposes. There are three main types of radiochemical analysis: radiometric analysis, isotope dilution, and activation analysis. Radiometric analysis uses a radioactive reagent to isolate the analyte. Isotope dilution introduces a known quantity of a radioactive isotope of the analyte. Activation analysis induces radioactivity in sample elements through neutron bombardment, then identifies elements by their characteristic gamma ray emissions. These methods provide sensitive, specific quantitative and qualitative analysis of elements in samples.

hermeticky uzavřené a vyžadovaly nevodné elektrolyty, neboť lithium prudce
reaguje s vodou.

dodávány do reakčního prostoru.
a oxidovadlo.

spektrum využití i výkonů: jízdní kola, malé nákladní automobily
a vozítka, autobusy; či speciální aplikace – výzkumné ponorky, čluny
atp.

Stacionární palivové články
Zdroje elektrické a tepelné energie s širokým rozsahem instalovaných
alkalických a přímých metanolových.

m=M.Q/z.F
m ..... vyloučené množství kovu v g
Q ..... přenesený elektrický náboj v C (intenzita I . čas t) intenzita v A,
čas v sec
F ..... Faradayova konstanta (96 500 C/mol)
M ..... molární hmotnost kovu
z ..... počet převáděných elektronů
m=M.I.t/z.F

do vhodného elektrolytu.
Průchodem proudu dojde k odstranění (vyleptání)
kovu jen na nepokrytých místech.
!
35. Katedra chemie FP TUL | www.kch.tul.cz
Galvanoplastika

A. M. Ampér

PbO2 + 4 H+ + SO42– + 2 e– PbSO4 + 2 H2O
Pb Pb2+ + 2 e– a následně Pb2+ + SO42– PbSO4
40. Katedra chemie FP TUL | www.kch.tul.cz
Nikl – kadmiový akumulátor
má na elektrodách z mikroporézního niklu naneseny vrstvy
hydroxidu nikelnatého a hydroxidu kademnatého.
Při nabíjení probíhají reakce:
záporný pól: Cd(OH)2 + 2 e– Cd + 2 OH–
kladný pól:
2 Ni(OH)2 + 2 OH– 2 NiO(OH) + 2 H2O + 2 e–
výsledná reakce:
2 Ni(OH)2 + Cd(OH)2 2 NiO(OH) + Cd + 2 H2O
při vybíjení probíhají reakce obráceně.
41. Katedra chemie FP TUL | www.kch.tul.cz
Nikl – metalhydridové akumulátory
Vzhledem k enormní jedovatosti kadmia jsou tyto
akumulátory postupně nahrazovány systémy nikl –
kovový hydrid (Ni-MH),
kladnou elektrodou zůstává nikl s vrstvou hydroxidu

těžkých kovů - olova a rtuti
a

K měření používáme milivoltmetr a dvojici elektrod, měrné
a srovnávací (indikační a referentní) pro acidobazické děje –
koncentrace H3O+ iontu, elektrody na měření pH
pro redukčně oxidační děje – jsou měrné elektrody
z ušlechtilého kovu Au, Pt

POTENCIOMETRIE
Pb2+, F–, Cl–, Br–, I–, CN–, NO3–, NO2–, ClO4–, BF4–, CNS–, S2–...)
jako srovnávací elektrody jsou používány: kalomelová elektroda
HgHg2Cl2KCl, argentchloridová AgAgClKCl a další

s průchodem proudu
ELEKTROGRAVIMETRIE
– vychází z Faradayových zákonů
– vážíme elektrolýzou vzniklé
produkty (třeba vyloučený kov)
na inertních elektrodách (Pt, C...),
a tak zjistíme, kolik bylo původně
v roztoku kovových iontů

na elektrochemických principech
POLAROGRAFIE je vlastně elektrolýza se
rtuťovou kapkovou elektrodou – zjišťujeme
závislost proudu a potenciálu,
t.zv. půlvlnový potenciál je potom
charakteristický (tabelován) pro různé látky,
intenzita proudu určuje množství látky.
Akademik Jaroslav Heyrovský získal
v roce 1959 Nobelovu cenu za chemii
za rozpracování této metody.

Další metody využívají kombinace potenciometrie
a elektrogravimetrie, měří se např. časové závislosti
elektrochemických dějů (chronopoteciometrie) nebo
přenesený elektrický náboj
při elektrochemickém ději (coulometrie) atp.

POLOVODICE
