8. LIFE FOR ABORIGINAL AT THE TIME
Life was hard for Aborgines during a lot of the
1900s. Many people didn’t let Aboriginal into
social places where the white people were, like the
pools, movies, motels and houses. Many people
saw them as disgusting and feral and judged them
by their dark skin and how they had lived.

16th of June , 1936. In his early life, he
was a soccer star and the first
aboriginal to graduate from university.
He was proud of being an indigenous
member during his life and worked
hard to help other people understand
that indigenous and non-indigenous
people should have the same rights as

10. FREEDOM RIDE
The Freedom Ride was organised by Charles Perkins and Ted
Noffs. This happend in 1965,Charles Perkins was 29 at the
time. He took 29 indigenous students on a bus to different
places in Victoria and New South Wales. They organised
conferences and meetings to help people understand that
indigenous and non indigenous people should have the same
rights.
